PONDS & PLANTS
Recent Review: We hired David Manser, Ponds & Plants, to build a patio, fireplace and large fishpond/waterfalls.  The work also included all landscaping.  We were so impressed with his workmanship and professionalism that we requested him again for another large job a few months later.  For the 2nd job he built several large rocked retaining walls on our sideyard and sloped backyard.  We've had complete strangers stop by just to tell us how beautiful our yard is.  Ponds & Plants will be the ONLY business to do any future work for us!!!

Howard Landscaping Co.
Recent Review: Moving from Memphis to signal Mountain I was left without any guidance to find a landscaper that could read my mind and make it happen or be honest enough to tell me it can’t be done, shouldn’t be done, or cost too much to be done. That’s a tall order. However I stumbled upon Howard landscaping and picked it because it was my father’s name LOL. Consider it a form of divine intervention and it truly has been a blessing. Chance came out and upon walking our property which was overgrown somewhat we started picturing all the things our property could be. I have no doubt he knew what he was talking about and that he could complete it but even more importantly that my husband would be happy with his work and price. His only downfall is he was so detailed and imaginative when discussing the possibilities that I like most people have the darndest time with instant gratification and had to be patient. However due to weather issues the project took longer than I had hoped. Chance was fantastic at reassuring me and informing me the status of different parts of my project. We have been so impressed with his personal level of professionalism we have chosen to book a outdoor fireplace project for this fall. I have no doubt he will be just as busy then as he is now and that it will be just as wonderful as the waterfall and koi pond he is currently transforming. Remember all landscaping projects are works in progress. Hire someone qualified on the front end and watch your yard bloom year round. My husband and I will be enjoying this beautiful landscaping for years to come. And it would not have been possible without Chance Howard and the rest of his wonderful team.

Recent Review: When I first brought the Tree Worx owner out to perform an estimate, I wasn't sure they would be able to handle more that just the trees that had been hit by lightning.  The owner showed a willingness to do anything I needed in the yard, to my surprise.  Once the guys arrived, they got a lot done in a short time.  The men were very cordial and professional.  When I got the final bill, I thought that I had been undercharged, so I gave the owner a little more on my check and I gave the guys a tip for a job well done.  I would recommend these guys to anyone who has a tree/brush project big or small.

Two Girl's and a Bucket
Recent Review: The sloped yard was cut in three major levels at about 3' to 3 1/2' depth.  The lower level needed to be terraced into 4 separate levels in order to maximize the dirt in the yard and avoid having to bring in fill dirt.  The work was the best I've ever seen.  Furthermore, I kept making changes that made sense for what the backyard space was going to be.  He cut into the dirt for a nice-sized pond area, too.  The levels created will serve as an outdoor dining area, outdoor kitchen, garden, outdoor fireplace and some of the space will be covered. I can't brag enough about the good job Mr. Foskey did.  I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing yard excavating.  He also cleared off some heavy growth (English Ivy, etc.) and now I'm going to plant fruit trees in the space.  Great job, great deal.

The construction of the pond was complicated by the weather (rain) and by Joe's many promises but lack of personnel to do the job. The crew changed from day to day, with varying levels of skill, and very little english. They had no equipment and used our wheelbarrows and shovels etc.  Stairs from the upper section to the lower one were done by individuals who apparently had no experience: uneven, sloped and dangerous.  These were torn out and redone by a different crew.  When questioned about design issues Joe would constantly reassure us that he "knew exactly what we wanted" and then continue to do things we didn't want. This resulted in taking things apart and re-doing them. One of the main requests we had was that the waterfall face the house. As it developed I asked several times how it was going to work, as it appeared to me that the waterfall would face parallel to the house. More reassuances.  In the end, the waterfall is parallel to the house, a major disappointment for us.  Shortly after construction it became evident that the pond was leaking.  Multiple phone calls to Joe, multiple excuses, basically telling us we were wrong.  He finally came out and put some dye in the water and agreed it was leaking. Another month went by before his crew showed up to work on 2 leaks in the lower pond, with reassurances that the upper pond wasn't leaking. Of course, when we refilled the ponds, the upper one was leaking.  Another couple of weeks before a crew showed up to work on the upper pond.  It still leaks.  More phone calls.  More promises, most recently a promise to show up on the 28th of April. No one showed up, no phone call.  No communications at all since then. Needless to say we are disappointed and very angry. We are working to hire someone else to take the pond apart and fix it properly. We are out the money, and have no satisfaction from this company and can only recommend that anyone wanting a water feature of any kind NOT use this provider.
