Recent Review: South Shore really did make my roofing experience easy. Tyler was prompt with the estimate and very responsive by text and phone. Kyle kept me updated once the project began and the working crew was efficient and cleaned as they went. I had a roof removal with some decking replacement and a new architectural roof installed. It looks great and I highly recommend South Shore to friends and family now. Definitely the team to work with!

Recent Review: I have used roofers in the past but this company was definitely the best I have ever used. I met the owner when he came out and gave me an estimate. He was friendly and helpful and pricing was very fair. Roof was installed and completed on the same day. Roofers performed every service that the owner said they would do and no corners were cut. This was a full roof job and I couldn't be happier with the quality of the roof or their work. I had a specific way I wanted a downspout to be ran which was a little unusual and the owner himself came out and worked with the installer to make sure it was installed the way I asked for. I have hired a few contractors in the past 8 to 10 years and this company went above and beyond any work I have ever had done. I absolutely would recommend them to anyone needing a new roof. This company also has a very nice and helpful secretary as well. Thanks Rod you guys did a great job!

Recent Review: The crew arrived on time and quickly and efficiently completed the job in 2 1/2 days. The crew was friendly, professional, and respectful of me and my property. Some leftover materials were graciously offered to me at, no cost additional cost, even though I did not ask for them. All of my questions were patiently answered. The cost was very reasonable. I highly recommend Magnum Gutters & Metal Roofing.

Recent Review: Work was done on time and as promised, no cost overruns, have had no leaks at all. Only problem was they did not get all of the roofing nails picked up, neither the old ones they tore off nor all of the new ones that got loose. I stepped on two, both requiring emergency room visits, one requiring surgery (still trying to recover from it). Definitely make sure they sweep all around the house with magnetic pickups at least twice. We are still finding roofing nails. Not sure how they swept for them originally but it looks like they were not very effective. Otherwise we are very happy with the work they did and the costs.

Recent Review: I was happy with the quote and had heard good things from other people about Jimmy Robinson (owner) and his work, and he is a very nice guy, but I think my job was more complicated than they're used to.  My roof had several angles/porches to contend with, a thicker 26 gauge material that the crew wasn't prepared to cut with the tools they had, and it did not go smoothly.  I will say that I think for the average metal roof job with normal thickness, I think the crew can do a fine job for you but once you start adding in skylights, chimney penetrations, lots of angles, beware.  Also, if it goes like my job, you won't see Jimmy much once the job starts, and he just sends his crew boss over to respond to phone calls/problems/concerns which I found very unprofessional.   Pros:   Started when they said they would, worked with us on finding the right material and color, cheap Cons: The job took several days longer than I was told it would take and is technically not done still a year and a half later (they ran out of wall flashing and came back several months later to finish and the piece they brought was still 2 feet too short - I withheld $350 and they have never called or come again to finish the job, I should have withheld $2000 or so). The crew boss told me the skylights would be airtight after install, and that I would only need to paint the interior of the new wood frames.  After a few months of crazy humidity inside and heating bills and outside noise seemed excessive, I went up a ladder and found 1/4 inch gaps all the way around the skylights and daylight visible.  All three weren't caulked or foamed in and it was basically like having 3 windows open for that whole time.  I was p*****, but didn't even trust the guys to come back and fix it since their work was so bad, so I didn't bother calling and I did it myself.   They had to borrow my tools several times to use to repair theirs, or to use on the job after theirs broke.   They ran a magnet around to pick up screws and metal cuttings, but there were still lots of them left in the dirt I've picked up since then (probably unavoidable though to be fair). Lots of cigarette butts around my property from the guys.   One crew member was sleeved out with tattoos and I asked where he has his work done, he said jail.  (this didn't bother me that much but might bother you). I had to call them back to check all the screws on the roof as dozens of them were too loose (not making contact) or way too tight and were squishing out the seal. I have water leaking on heavy rains where the house roof flows fast onto a porch roof, but again, I don't trust they can fix it right and will do it myself or pay someone else. Again, I think my issues with the job were: thicker than normal material that the guys had to fight to cut, lots of angles and roof surfaces to deal with, and they were over their heads on installing skylights properly.  But, if you have a very simple roof and are using cheaper standard thickness (29 gauge) material, I think they can do a fine job for you.  If the job isn't quite complete though, hold back lots of money from the final payment or you may never see them again.

The provider installed new asphalt shingles on my home.  They came in on Wednesday and started taking off shingles around the top and then they placed the new shingles along the top of the roof so that they were easily accessible.  My home has a steep pitch and so the crew performing the installation had to be tied off when they were on the roof.  While on the roof the crew also had a member or members walking on the ground picking up the debris from the old shingles coming off and the wrapping material from the new ones going on.  The crew was very thorough when picking up the debris and used big magnets with wheels to get the metal pieces and screw or nails that came off of the roof.  I would recommend this group to anyone having to replace a roof.  The customer service that was shown to me and my family was great.

FEddie Sellers Roofing
After getting several bids to replace our aging roof we decided to sign on with Mr. Sellers because he was $2000.00 under the other bids and recommended by an acquaintance.  The contract stated that he would replace the felt and ?replace entire roof with new limited life Arc. Timberline shingles". The old roof removal went off as planned.  Then the problems started: He knew I had an air compressor and asked if he could use it along with his because ?our compressor won?t handle the load?, somewhat surprising. He ran out of shingles twice before completing the job, not very impressive for a "professional". When he started to put on the ridge shingles (caps) we noticed the color didn?t match.  When asked about this he claimed the supplier sent ?the wrong shingles?.  I saw that the caps were not even the same brand (Timberline). And he didn?t notice?  When the correct caps arrived he was singing the blues because ?those Timberline caps cost me an extra $1000.00?.    At the same time, we were having the roof on our pool enclosure changed by another company.  The pool roof was attached to the house roof, therefore when the house roof was completed Eddie would need to come back and complete his job as the pool roof wouldn't be completed until a week later.  Eddie even reminded me of this when I paid him, ?you call me and I?ll come back and finish shingling around where the pool roof joins the house roof?.  After three days of voice mails I gave up and had the pool roof guy finish the job which cost me extra.  And oh ya, we had to order two more bundles of shingles, which should have been covered by Eddie's contract!!

The work was exceptionally well done and I have no complaints about it. My only complaint at all is that the technician did not show up on the promised day. I received no phone call or other communication indicating a problem with showing up to perform the work on the day I was told. The technician did come the following day (only after I had to call the office and they had to track him down). The work site was left in pristine condition. This would be a full A rating across the board except for the scheduling hiccup. I don't mind scheduling changes, however communicating this to me is important and the lack of communication was a major factor in my review.
