Recent Review: I have an unusual home, in that it was built with a low sloped post and beam roof with tongue & groove decking back in the mid 1960's. The existing roof surface that was on the house when I bought it was a torched on asphalt roll product that looked pretty terrible and had recently started springing leaks. I decided I wanted to replace the entire roof rather than repair it but I knew I needed to use a different material to make it more aesthetically pleasing and leak resistant. I had 3 separate roofing contractors take a look at the house and all three came up with different ideas about what they thought would be best for my roof. Ultimately I ended up going with metal because it could be installed over the top of the existing roof, it looks the best, and was the least likely to leak or warp over time. Phillippe from Pro Roofing came back with the best quality to price ratio of the 3 contractors I talked to so I ended up hiring Pro for the job. Phillippe was also able to get confirmation from the metal manufacturer to ensure that my low slope roof would not void the 40 year warranty, which really helped sell me on this option. After that, I got a call from the project manager Kelvin Stembridge who came by the house to remeasure the roof and show me the color options for the metal panels. My wife and I picked our favorite and Kelvin put in the material order right away. It took about a week before the order arrived in our driveway and it was ready to install. When it came time to do the installation, Pro subcontracted it to a separate company and had Kelvin prepare the site and supervise the installation team. The installation crew was very professional and respectful of my home. They were all Latino, which is pretty normal nowadays, but the ones I talked to spoke English fluently so there were no communication issues that you can sometimes deal with. They always asked permission before doing anything out of the ordinary and kept calling me sir, which I found charming. Their quality of work was solid and they moved very fast. Altogether it took about 2 1/2 working days to finish the project. I was very impressed. Kelvin was very easy to work with and highly professional. Unlike many contractors I've dealt with over the years, Kelvin was actually at the job site every day keeping an eye on the progress and he always kept me informed when plans had to be adjusted due to weather or the availability of the installers. After the job was done, the crew did a pretty good cleanup, but Kelvin personally followed up with his own perimeter cleanup around the house. He warned me about the possibility that some of the little metal pieces that fell off the roof might still be hidden in the grass and to keep an eye out. I've found a couple here and there, but it looks like he got the bulk of them. He also met with me one last time this morning to make sure I was happy with everything and that I didn't have any issues or questions so far. Lastly, payment was done over the phone by credit card. It was a lot of money, but I think the roof will add enough value to the home that I should at very least break even on the investment. Overall, I'm very happy with the whole experience from beginning to end and remain impressed by the professionalism of the Pro Roofing team. Thanks all for a job well done.
