Recent Review: Fantastic. Magic Bubbles arrived promptly at 8 AM and pressure washed my sidewalks, my drive way, my roof, my entire house, my pool deck, and patio. They wrapped up around noon and could not have done a better, more thorough job.

Recent Review: Low Cost was the only professional business to give me a prompt call back and one of two that gave me estimates. Terrence gave me a much better quote than the other guy and was obviously much more on the ball and professional. The lead time was a good month out, which wasn't the best, but at least it was accurate and wasn't changed. Terrence showed up on time and finished the work as promised. Great quality work. I'm happy with the outcome. Their was some damage from the concrete truck, and I had to call him to come back out to pick up some materials, but he responded promptly and everything was wrapped up nicely and quickly. Given how hard it is to get such a value on not just concrete work, but any skilled labor work done on time anymore, I have to give Low Cost, and Terrence a pass on the few little snags we had. Again - alls well that ends well. Top notch product from Low Cost Concrete. I'll use them next time.

Recent Review: They delivered on time and, most importantly, they were able to help us out a bit. I had recruited someone to help me, but 2 yards is a bit of a tall order for just two people. Luckily, in both cases, the driver helped us get the concrete to where it needed to be.

John came out promptly to give the estimate. The job was started exactly as promised. The quality of the work was excellent. All aspects of the job were done professionally, including the final clean-up. The price for the job was very competitive. I am extremely pleased with the job they did from start to finish. I would definitely use them again or recommend the to anyone.

There were a couple of minor delays caused by several things including inclement weather and my failure to return the signed notice of commencement in a timely manner.  However, once begun, the work was completed very quickly and entirely to my satisfaction.  The required inspection went off without a hitch.  Very satisfied with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the staff.

THE CONTRACTOR RESPONDED TO MY BID REQUEST QUICKLY, AND STARTED THE WORK IN A REASONABLE TIME. MY BIGGEST CONCERN AT THE OUTSET WAS PRECISION, AS THE MASONRY WOULD BE THE FOUNDATION OF ALL OTHER WORK TO THE HOME ADDITION. I WAS PLEASED TO FIND THE WORK WAS VERY ACCURATE, AND FOLLOWED EVERY DETAIL OF MY FOUNDATION PLAN. MY FRAMER COMMENTED ON THE ACCURACY OF THE WORK. THE CREW WORKED EVERY DAY UNTIL THE WORK WAS COMPLETE. THE CREW WAS FRIENDLY, POLITE AND PATIENT AROUND MY FAMILY. ALL MASONRY DEBRIS WAS PICKED UP EVERY DAY AND AT THE END OF THE JOB, THE SITE WAS CLEAN. THIS WAS A JOB WELL DONE.

The sidewalk work was performed flawless except for one place where it connected to an existing brick paver sideway. At this connection point work was sub-par. They did come back and try to correct this as best they could but it is still not as it could have been. The rest of the walk looks great in all respects. The only other complaint I would have to mention is the lawn where the sidewalk was put in was not in good shape after the job was completed. I will have to do some re-sodding or grass seeding planting. I put them in a situation of digging a bit deeper then normal on some of the sidewalk due to drainage pipe but I feel the sod could have been easily protected with use of a simple trap. Overall I am happy with their work and would use them again as Bob was very punctual and had great follow-up and keep me informed at all times.

The overall outcome of the projects was amateur.  The general theme of their work was continual short cutting.  After multiple call backs to fix problems, I have given up and have paid/ will pay other contractors to fix their work.  The contractor never specified a total estimated completion time for the projects and they ended up taking over five weeks to complete them, all the while crowding my back porch, yard, and garage with their supplies and tools.  They kept pulling off my job to go ?put out fires? at their other projects.  They often didn?t work full days and did not show up as Jeff had promised.  When I complained about this, Jeff would get defensive (though he never has a bad temper and never raises his voice) and would say he never said that he would be there on that day.  My memory is not that bad and I was very clearly paying attention to what I was told by him.  The gutters were hanging off the roof loosely, were not pitched correctly, were holding water, were leaking, and were visually unappealing.  They attempted to fix them, but there was little improvement.  I had to pay another gutter company to remove them and hang them properly.  Now I have many extra holes in my fascia and the drip edge looks like it has been bent multiple times.  I still need to fill all of the holes.  The sidewalks look amateur, have low spots, and there is already slight cracking in one spot.  They ran out of concrete for the last section after they spilled it all over my landscaping and never cleaned that up.  Jeff claimed that they could pour additional concrete on top and it would not crack because it would be fine if they poured at least 2 inches.  The problem was that there was only an inch left to pour in most places.  He insisted there was 2 inches.  I measured it.  It was like talking to a wall.  The color of that section also does not match the others.  The fence end product looks fine.  However, they attempted to use my 10 plus year old posts.  They had to redo their work after I refused to allow that.  They also cut off the old posts at the ground and I had to have them go back and dig them out.  My contract says they were to put lattice at the top of the front section of fence.  When they were nearly finished with the front section, there was no lattice.  I agreed they could put it at the top of the gate only.  They made multiple attempts at adding lattice to the top of a premade gate.  It looks terrible and it is already falling apart and the gate does not work properly when it rains.  Jeff also claimed he did not include the cost of the gate latch in his estimate, so he asked me to add additional money for that.  For the French drain connections, they used duct tape which became exposed as the water washed away the new dirt.  It will eventually fall off and it looks ridiculous.  Jeff?s crews asked if they could put the dirt they removed from the sidewalk installation around my yard (it contains a lot of river gravel).  If I hadn?t spoken up multiple times, they would have put it all over in ridiculous places.  The gravel has left a complete mess for me to fix.  Jeff and his crews drank my bottled water in my garage without permission, but let me know they did this and hoped I didn?t mind.  As far as cleanup, they did pick up their trash every day, but in the end, left a general mess of extra dirt, gravel, concrete, and damaged landscaping.  I expected some landscape destruction, but this was much more than expected.  There is not enough room to list all of the strange experiences and problems with this contractor.

Fleet removed the old concrete and then coordinated with an arborist whose  employee  air spaded along the edge of the existing sidewalk to pressure blow the dirt away, exposing the tree roots. Both Fleet and Independent Tree Service worked together to remove necessary roots.  The removal process at times was very difficult for them.  It took creative thinking to solve a few of the root challenges.  Fleet completed the project by preparing the ground for the pouring of the fiber reinforced concrete into the revised path set up for a new sidewalk a bit farther away from the tree.  They were very precise about measurements, planing, inserting expansion joints, and finishing the final steps to prevent a person from slipping on the surface. Upon completion they cleaned their work area before leaving. We did not comment on the price because we did not do any additional comparing.  We  were very satisfied with our answers upon discussing with the Office Manager, who subsequently talked with Bob Custer, the many factors involved with a large live oak tree, the regulations, and the process trying to replace a sidewalk with very restrictive alternatives for spacing and the anticipated timeframe for completion.

AJ Bates Concrete Construction Inc
Very professional and courteous company. Excellent service from the first phone call to the completion of the sidewalk project. Finished sidewalk looks fantastic!! Arrived promptly as planned. High quality work. J Bates Concrete Construction went above and beyond to complete my sidewalk project despite the obstacles related to the recent hurricane. The business owner was very professional and helpful. The job was explained to me in detail and my sidewalk looks great!! The job site was left immaculate and barriers placed for protection of my sidewalk. I have already recommended J Bates Concrete to my family and friends. With the time and work put into my sidewalk project, which is a small project, it shows this company is really there for its customers. I would highly recommend for any home or business construction projects, this company makes the grade.

ARMT MASONRY INC
I can not say enough about RMT Masonry. On 2/29/2013, I called several concrete companies and received very high quotes to repair a section of sidewalk about 6 x 6 in size. When I called RMT Masonry, Rick said he really could not give me a fair estimate over the phone and asked if I would be at home after noon hour. About a couple of hours after I called Rick and Tucker arrived to look at the repair that needed to be done. They gave me a price of 500.00 and asked if that would be ok. It was definitely ok! They said they could come back on Monday morning and the job would take about 4 hours to do. I had a Drs. appointment Monday morining but I felt very confortable leaving Rick and Tucker to do their job. I arrived back home just as they were finishing up with the repaving of the sidewalk. When I saw the new sidewalk I was really impressed. This was quality work! Having had other concrete work done at our home before I was prepared to have to clean up extra concrete after the repair was done. Rick and Tucker were extremely neat with their work, there was not any extra concrete remaining in the grass area or on our retaining wall. I was so impressed with these gentlemen and their company. I have asked them for an estimate of taking out a section of our retaining wall and building steps and a sidewalk up to the house. These guys are genuine businessmen. Thank you Rick and Tucker!
