Recent Review: Great! Pool looks beautiful. Workers were polite, thoughtful, cleaned up after themselves each day & did a great job. Pool had not been remarcited since we bought this property in 1991. Long overdue! Then Hurricane Irma flooded us & filled the pool with swamp water. It is wonderful having my pool back!

Recent Review: We are so glad we decided to go with Fun State Pools rather than another contractor which we were encouraged to use.  We got 3 estimates and they were all pretty much in line with each other so really, we ended up going with who we were most comfortable with.  It took a long time for them to get started but we knew this up front since it was June when we signed our contract.  Then the rain set in and they were behind some.  Once they got going though, it was clear to us that we made the right choice.  Every group that came to work on our pool was professional, friendly and I think most refreshing-hard working!  Always showing up early and working until the particular phase they were on was complete these folks were true professionals.  Their experience and commitment to excellence was always apparent.  Even our notorious building inspector could not find any problems, he even commented on what a nice pool we were getting.  Merritt Aluminum...wow.  We could have used a local contractor but decided to go ahead and go with the company Fun State recommended and works with regularly.  So glad we did not break up the team here!  The young man who measured for the enclosure was so meticulous.  No time was wasted either, a couple of days after he measured; they were setting up the enclosure. Communication was fantastic all the way through the process; another aspect I find quite refreshing.  There are so many options when it comes a custom pool; design, tile and texture.  Barry our salesman was so helpful and patient.  He answered anything we asked and offered his insights when we requested his thoughts.  This has been a very good experience all around. We have had construction work done here before and have had to do a lot of the clean up work.  Not so with Fun State Pools.  They picked up every scrap and evened out all around the pool.  NICE. Also, we're glad we had the pool go in during the winter because in reality, it takes a long time to get an in ground pool to swimmable.  It would have been hard to NOT swim during our hot summers.  For now, we are enjoying the spa while small pool details are finished up.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our Fun State Pool.

Recent Review: Overall experience was very positive and the family loves the new pool. Pro's- Workmanship and quality are top notch. Project schedule and duration was fluid. No delays or long periods of project staying idle. Employee's and subs are quality people. Owner's work in the field with crews. Con's- Communication throughout the duration of the building process was lacking.

Recent Review: Paradise Pools built a pool, spa, and large paver deck at our house and arranged a screen enclosure too. The end product is an attractive pool the matches the plans. There is a defect (rust spot) in the plaster that Paradise attempted to fix but the spot returned within weeks. Paradise is very difficult to deal with due to poor communication, organization, and long delays. Initially they asked us to pick our pool materials (plaster, tile, pool design...) ASAP so they can get started soon, but they were six months late getting started and had another 2 month delay soon after starting. They don't give any warning or explanation about delays. Our 4-5 month project took July-April to complete. There where many times when I was told "we'll be there next week" with no follow through, multiple weeks in a row. They recommended Affordable Alluminum (Charlie from Ocala) to build the screen enclosure. He built the wrong structure and was worse to deal with. We have a security camera in the back yard so we could see when they were working. I caught one of the Paradise employees trying to open my back door soon after my wife left the house. I warned Dean about this. That employee still worked there months later. Once the pool was completed our back yard was a pile of construction trash and dirt. They wouldn't come clean it up for months and when they did they did an incomplete job. I took the last bit of trash and concrete to the dump myself and it was 1000 lbs of junk on the scale there. They killed all the grass in my backyard from all the dirt and equipment. They say they will grade the yard at the end of construction, but they left a very large dirt pile and a low point in the yard that became a mud pit. I was planning on soding the yard myself but I had to hire a landscaper to grade and finish due to the large amount of dirt to move around. Luckily our final product is pretty nice, but at friend had a worse experience and Paradise abandoned the unfinished project just before completion. Overall I cannot recommend this company.

Recent Review: Needed a new vinyl liner for the pool. He answered the phone call, which I liked, so my questions could be answered (as opposed to a secretary). He was scheduled a few weeks out but let me know of an earlier availability when it arose. Communication was great and response to my message was rapid. He ensured small details would be included in the quoted price and even suggested the upgraded items at no additional charge. 50% down and the remaining balance at completion of service (quoted estimate is what I paid). The best part is that he has a voice perfect for movie trailers!

CLiving Waters Swimming Pool Service & Repairs, LLC
I had a good relationship with them for many years and then he ended it very badly. He quit and didn't notify me and left my pool not taken cared of for several weeks because he never bothered to tell me and we weren't living there. I came back to a green filthy people when I had people trying to buy the house so I wasn't very happy. I had no issue with the cost and prior to that, the service was good. I'm not sure why he wanted to quit, he just did and he didn't bother telling me about it.

FECS Solar Energy Systems
I used ECS to install my pool heating solar panels in 2005.  As I was planning to replace the roof in the ensuing 5-7 years, I asked Mr Tom Lane, the owner of ECS, about the cost of removing and reinstalling the panels when the need arose. I was told that was a simple task and would only cost $100.  In July, 2011, I called to schedule the solar panel removal and mentioned my earlier quote from Mr Lane. I was told it would cost me over $1500 to remove/reinstall the panels. Mr Lane stated he would have been crazy to give me that previous quote, but was willing to reduce the price to $1340. As the roofers were coming within a few days, I had no choice but to agree to the price.  The removal took 45 minutes and the reinstall took less than 3 hours. The only new part cost me an additional $25. Bottom line:  My mistake was in not getting everything in writing. I was charged $1365 (over $300/hr) for work that was originally quoted at $100 for the entire job. Make sure you get everything in writing with Mr Lane as he either has a short memory or is willing to say whatever it takes to close a deal.

It seems I had received all of the "junk" equipment, meaning parts that had been returned as defective. In the 5 minutes he spent explaining how to work everything, his salt computer kept malfunctioning. I asked him to bring a different one and he said he couldn't. I had to keep calling them back to come out and get it running. I asked him to write on his paperwork that they may have to replace this equipment but he wouldn't. Later he became extremely rude. I tried to find instructions and warranties from each item they installed but I had nothing. I called again and asked where these papers were and he said he left them on the table but of course they were nowhere. I asked him to come back and show me again how it worked and he gave me another 5 minutes to try and write it all down and again I asked him for all of the warranty papers in case something stopped working. He said it would be under their warranty. When the computer kept giving  me information that there was enough salt in the water but, the water was turning green, I added salt but I couldn't know how much to add since the computer couldn't be trusted, I called them but they wouldn't return my calls. Once they got their check cleared, I guess I was history. I was a recent widow and I guess that made me an easy mark.

FFamily Pool, Spa & Billiard
The salesman, Dave, was the nicest guy you would ever want to meet. A real smooth talker. I told him he said what I was looking for which was an "endless swim system" swimming pool so I could swim continuously and out out to keep fit. I told him I had personally pre-tested an "Endless Pool" pool system and Michael Phelps swim system and thy were both great, but I DID NOT LIKE the  "JET"  SYSTEM I had tried.  He said the best product in the world with the Badu swim system. He told me that he had installed many Badu swim systems for the professional athletes who swim on the Olympic team out of Gainesville Florida UF. The project wold take about six weeks to complete. The installation wound up taking almost a year!!! For some reason the salesman was the project manager as well. He was very difficult to get a hold of and make endless promises that he never kept. Dave is a master of making excuses. There were always problems, problems, problems, and no one seemed to care about fixing them.  No one showed up on time to do the job. The work was completed in a very shoddy way. I do not believe any of the people who work for this company really cared about quality nor did the installers have the proper training. They actaully had to dig the fiberglass pool out of the ground becasue is was tilted and re-install it. The pool is still  "bowed" in the middle and the bottom is still not level, plus there is no drainage for the patio. The owner of the company, Pat Flannigan, was also impossible to reach nor did he seem to care. I just kept getting the runaround from all people involved. The worst part of all is that I wound up with a swim "jet" system, exactly the type I SPECIFICALLY SAID I DID NOT WANT. It is not nearly as good as and Endless Pool or Michael phelps swim system, because the water stream is harsh and inconsistent and you have to keep speeding up and slowing down to swim. I later found out that they had only installed one of these systems before mine. The athlete had moved out of state slightly thereafter.

APOOL SOLUTIONS OF NORTH FLORIDA, INC.
Replaced failed 8-year old pool pump for in-ground pool. Nuts/bolts had seized up and required more labor than anticipated to get the old one off, so job took longer than the anticipated one hour. Showed up on time and completed job in a few hours. Service manager came to job site and also gave suggestions and recommendations for pool maintenance for the future.

Company responded to email request and set up the initial evaluation date/time. I took the afternoon off from work, but no one ever showed up for the evaluation/quote. I never received a call, email or text stating the meeting was canceled or rescheduled.
