Recent Review: The company did an absolutely beautiful job. There were a few minor bumps in the road to completion, almost all related to communication and timing, but there is no disputing the beauty of the finished product. We sit outside each night, either in or beside the pool, and wonder why didn't do the work years ago.

Recent Review: Mr. Kamal was the designer, construction foreman, and frequent hands-on installer for a major pool renovation. He resurfaced my pool, removed a small wading pool adjacent to the swimming area and replaced it with a custom-made, 6-person spa. In doing so, much of the piping and all of the electrical wiring had to be replaced. Omar also assisted in the selection of new tile and pavers. When we could not find accent tiles to coordinate with the tiles along the water's edge, he individually cut  center diamonds and inserted small glass block into approximately 20 tiles to provide coordinated decorative accents. He was able to instruct contracted laborers to remove the old child's pool without disturbing the pool screen. Throughout the project, Mr. Kamal made recommendations of design elements that provided a beautiful, updated look to the entire pool area. He worked diligently, with few breaks, until the project was complete. On occasion he brought family members in to assist in order to meet his time schedule. The old kool deck was covered with travertine tile and the canilever edges replaced with clean angles. The result was a pool area that looks sensational! Prior to hiring Mr. Kamal, I consulted at least 12 other pool companies; none seemed as committed to providing quality service as Grand Aquatics. Since the installation,  Omar has been providing intermittent technical support for my pool equipment. Recently he installed a remote panel to best operate the spa. Mr.Kamal is in high demand and works continuously; occasionally he needs a reminder if a request has been overlooked but he has always done what he says he will do and his prices are extremely reasonable for the work he does. I cannot speak highly enough regarding his talents and his commitment to providing good service. You will do yourself a disservice if you do not investigate using Grand Aquatics to renovate an existing pool or build a new pool.

Recent Review: This was our 4th pool to build - one in VA - one in NC and one in GA. It was absolutely the best experience we have ever had - they stand by their product and subs that do the installation - they believe in only top professionals and always keep you informed. These days communication is so poor but not with Indigo. We have always service our own pools but decided to let Indigo take that over. Knowing how great the building process went we were sure our pool would be in good hands on the maintenance. Simply can't say enough good things about the company and its owners.

Recent Review: Nelson’s crew of two was able to come out within just a few days of my phone call to determine the source of the leak and make repairs. One man donned a mask and snorkel and carefully examined my entire pool. He used a syringe containing a blue dye to determine where the water was escaping. His partner prepared pieces of a clay-like epoxy to fill a large crack and a few other locations they found to be leaking. They completed the job within 2 or 3 hours and I paid them on completion. My pool had been leaking for a week or two at a rate of one-half to one inch per day. I have kept careful watch of the water level since the repair was made. The leaking has stopped completely and I now only need to add water to make up for evaporation. My paperwork from Nelson Pool states that the repair is not a permanent repair and is warranted against further leaking for 30 days.

Recent Review: I had American Leak detection fix two leaks in my pool, one of which was fairly minor, but the other was very serious and occurred about two weeks before we were scheduled to close on the sale of our house in South Tampa. The technician traced the leak via sonar to a section of pcp pipe that had been breached by an oak tree root which had literally wrapped itself around the pipe, cracking it in several places.

AFishback's Pools
Tom Fishback is extremely knowledgeable about swimming pool design and the problems which may effect the structure of a pool as well as very helpful in the selection of tiles, copings, pool re surfing and deck re surfacing materials ... as well as very patient and sensitive to budget constraints. He and company worked steadily from January 20th through March 31st to beautify my swimming pool area. They worked each day in the cold and each day before the rains would come. Each member of his team performed his job very well going above and beyond.. Their manner was always pleasure, and Tom, et. al. were fully accomodaing and attentive to changes. There was minimal damage to our landscaping (grass) as Fishback Pools wheel-barreled in all necessary materials and equipment. They were likewise very neat while completing each phrase of our pool renovation. I love my new pool. My neighbors love my new pool. Even the company that services the pool loves my new pool. Why wouldn't they ... it is beautiful! Thanks Tom.

I contacted Freestyle for an estimate on new pool construction.  The salesperson who came to my home was prompt, knowledgable about the construction process and the company, and listed to my desires for what I wanted in a pool.  He left the appointment and said that he would have a design and quote within ten days, which was actually quite a long time compared to the amount of time it took other builders to get back to me with their quotes. After the ten days passed and I had received no quote, I contacted the salesperson.  He told me that He would have the quote to me within 48 hours.  Three days later I still had not received the quote.  At that point I informed them that I would be going with another builder.   I was looking forward to receiving their quote and possibly doing business with Freestyle since it is apparent from their many reviews on Angieslist that they construct quality pools.  That said, when I have other highly rated companies that are responsive and make strides to try to earn my business, it concerns me when the basic sales and design process doesn't go smoothly and they don't get things done in a timely manner. If they say a quote will be ready within 10 days and two weeks later it still has not been received, how can the customer expect to trust them to complete the pool construction in a timely manner?  Construction is where the delays come up in pool building.  It's a huge red flag to me when delays start coming up before the contract is even signed.

I am writing this because I have been looking for someone to help me with some pool repairs at my home. I received a call from Richard (the owner), despite the fact that he could not help me with my type of repair work, to give me a referral. I just wanted to let everyone know that I was really appreciative and impressed that Richard would give me that courtesy. I am sure that a person who goes above and beyond will do so with his work as well. Thank you.

Spoke with Jon whom is a co-owner and explained that I have purchased an in-ground swimming pool pump and digital programmable multipurpose control. Nobody that I had spoken to until I spoke with Jon was willing to install a pump and timer since I did not purchase from them but nobody sells the pump (very efficient). Jon has been great throughout this frustrating time and I highly recommend Superior Pools. It just amazes me that pool companies do not want to install a 3rd party product.

ABay Area Pool Authority Inc
The collector tank on our condo pool broke, leaving our pool closed during the middle of snowbird season. After contacting over 10 companies that either would not get a quote to us, or could not perform the repairs, we turned to Angie's List and found John with Bay Area Pool Authority. He worked us into his schedule the same day, and took only 48 hours to come up with a very reasonable quote! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND John! He was prompt, courteous, professional, and did exactly what he said he could do. Thank You Bay Area Pool Authority!

FHawkins Service Co.
Worst company of kind I have ever worked with! I had a new pool being installed and Hawkins is the electrical company contracted by the pool builder to do the electrical work. They called me on a Wednesday to let me know they would be out the next day to do the electrical work and would need access to the main panel. I informed that nobody would be home (out of state the entire week), but the main panel is on the outside of the house so it would be accessible. I also informed the woman who called that they needed to use the crawl space to run the feed and told her where the crawl space access was. Late the next day I checked my security cameras via my phone, as I did regularly when out of town. That’s when I noticed three of my cameras were offline, all connected through my detached garage. I had an outside receptacle that was too close to the new pool, so as part of code it was removed from the electrical box, which I was fine with. However, the electrician didn’t bother to reconnect the feed from that box that fed power to my garage. I think it’s pretty obvious if you have an electrical box with two feeds, one has power coming in and the other goes to something else. Once Hawkins was notified of their mistake, it took them two days to do a less than five-minute job of correcting their mistake, which means I had three security cameras offline for three days. I also noticed on my security cameras that they didn’t use the crawl space as informed, but instead dug up my front yard to run conduit from one side of the house to the other. All pool construction access was from the back alley, so the front yard was untouched to that point. When I called to ask why they didn’t use the crawl space I was connected to Adrian, who I think is one of the managers. He was very defensive, and never gave a good answer. When I told Adrian I didn’t want electrical conduit through my yard, but instead through the crawl space, like ever other feed on my house, and was obvious to the electricians, he said he could do it but I would have to pay for it. Me pay to correct work they were informed how to do initially and they did wrong??? I then contacted my pool builder about this issue, and they did what good and reputable companies do, and that was pay to have the feed moved to the crawl space, which they did, and wasn’t an issue for Hawkins and could have been done the first time. As part of pool building code, a convivence receptacle is required not less than six feet and no more than 20 feet from the edge of the pool. Since Hawkins removed the already existing receptacle that was too close, they installed a new one, but never tried to contact me and see where I might want it for my convenience, in my yard by my pool. Instead they installed one that was as absolutely as close to the subpanel as possible, but was basically unusable as it was in a far corner that had no deck space or other usable space near it to make it “convenient” for anything. So I had another, up to code receptacle installed by the open part of my new deck on the opposite end of the pool. When Hawkins came back to re-run the electrical feed through the crawl space, I asked them about removing the receptacle they installed, and initially one of the technicians said they would, but when they were about to leave it was still there. I asked them why and they said they spoke to Adrian and he said that since it was up to code when installed that it will stay. I told them I was the customer and it wasn’t their decision on where it should have been installed initially, and that I already had another one installed at my expense and up to code, and didn’t need theirs now. They said they didn’t care and that it would stay, and they left. The entire time they were at my house they were very defensive and argumentative. After the technicians left, I called their office and asked to speak to the owner, Eric Haeck. I was told he was not in the office and was transferred to his voicemail, at which point I left a message with a brief overview and asked him to call me back. Upon completing the voicemail, I got a call back from the receptionist, which thought I got disconnected, at which point she took a message for Eric call me back. I never got a call back from Eric, or anybody, nor has anybody from Hawkins even once apologized for destroying my front yard. Which left big holes on both sides of the sidewalk near the front porch, and were still there when they came back over a moth later to re-run the feed, and I watched as one of the technicians pointed them out to another technician and laughed about it, and they still did nothing about them. Bottom line, this company doesn’t care the slightest about the customer, only how to get the job done the easiest way for them, and their exact words when I spoke to them about running the new feed was they were going to do it “most convenient for us”. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!!!

Four years ago we picked superior pool to build a pool because their advertising said they would stand by their work 100%. We have had to have plaster replaced two times in the last four years due to the inferiority of the product that was used to plaster the pool, at no fault of superior Pool. With some negotiations and determination by us, Superior Pool has replace the plaster twice at no cost to us standing by their advertising. We have learned afterwards that the manufacturer, CLI wouldn’t stand by their product and never reimbursed Superior for the defective product. Although this Pool has been a long hard road for us, Superior has in the end given us the quality Pool we originally expected.
