Recent Review: Everyone at the company was very professional, courteous and as helpful as they could be, including the office staff. The problem we had started with the fact that the original board is no longer made, although a replacement part is available, but is notably different than the original that failed. The technician who came to the house identified the problem as coming from the computer or a communication device. His boss was certain that the problem was with the computer and the technician returned with the replacement unit. Upon installing it, he couldn't figure out where a couple of wires should be connected as the configuration was different than the original. He promised to return the next day with his boss, but the boss was not available for four more days. When the boss came, he confirmed the work of the original technician but also had difficulty hooking up the last two wires. After calling the tech rep at the distributor or manufacturer he recognized what needed to be done and completed the work quickly. My only concern was the inability of the technician to immediately diagnose the problem and then to do the installation. The whole process required three visits to the house over several days. The oven is a GE builder's grade and I expected that they would have been more familiar with it and the solution.

Recent Review: Came home from work one night at 11:00 PM after a long day at work. Turned on oven to preheat and cook something. Walked the dog while oven was preheating. When I got back home, no heat coming from oven. Suspected heating element. Pulled oven out, looked things over, and was skeptical of my skills to repair. New appliances now have electronics that control things. Due to working so much, did not want to dedicate time and effort to finding the correct heating element, taking things apart and attempting repair myself. Went to Angie's list, and started calling repair shops at 08:30AM. I can only be home in the mornings due to work schedule. First two places were booked up and could not come out until the following week. Called Ron Taylor Appliance and Repair. Explained to Ron the issues. He told me to give him the model number so that when he sent a repairman out, he could have additional parts beside the heating element, in case there were other issues. Ron said that he would try to get a man out either that morning or the following morning. He would call first. Sure enough, about, 10:30, a man called and said he would be at my house in about 30 minutes. He arrived, I let him do his work without bothering him and in about 30 minutes he was done. Heating element replaced and the electronics were working fine. He told me that it is common that when the heating element burns out, the electronic board that controls the clock / timer and other circuits to the stove top and oven, goes bad. In this case it did not. The quick response and quick repair work were certainly appreciated.

Great service. Luke showed up on time and was very knowledgable . He was able to pinpoint the problem along with other issues our 14 year old oven has. This is the first time in many years a service man has come into our home and actually knew his stuff completely! He was even able to give us pointers on what to look for if we decide to purchase a new oven. I would absolutely use this company again and I would ask for Luke. Well worth the service charge.

They must have been out at least 15 times, to many times to recount. The last time they were out would have been probably October 26th. It was under warranty. The other repairs were done by the manufactures, they sent different repair people out. I stopped calling them since they did such a terrible job. I used a different repair company, other than for the warranty work. They were doing such a terrible job in damaging things in the process.  What stood out to me the most was incompetence. They come out, there is obviously a problem and they are trying to make it look like, basically just live with it. I didn?t know how to say it, but it?s like basically, you are just going to have to live with that attitude. I don?t pay $18,000 for appliances and just say that I have to live with it when they are not working right.

The company performed service at a rental property of mine. I explained that I was the landlord and I would be paying for the repair so I needed to be informed of what was wrong and how much it would be before anything was done. The women said "of course". The person never called my tenant to tell her when they were coming. The service person came out to take a look and was supposed to call me, the owner, and tell me what was wrong and approximately how much it would be, as I was paying for it. I never heard anything back from the company, but heard from my tenant that the fuse needed to be replaced. The next I called the company and asked what happened and he said they ordered the fuse. I said I never received a call and was never consulted on whether I wanted the oven repaired. I tried to explain why I, the owner, should have been consulted before the piece was ordered, but man didn't seem to understand, or care and said "It's only $240 it's better then buying a new oven isn't it?" The communication from START to FINISH was lacking to say the least! They were presumptuous and slightly belittling. I used this company because they have been in Boca for many, many years. I will NEVER use them again. They are also listed on Angie's List under several names: Boca Appliance Svc, Affordable Appliance and MARRS appliance. I will post this on all three names.
