Recent Review: The technician came out the same day I called.  He arrived, as scheduled, between 7 pm and 9pm.  There was no additional "after hours" charge.  The technician wrote up a quote and I asked him to proceed with replacing the hot water heater.  He and another technician arrived the next morning and completed the work.  They took care of everything, including the gas line permit and replacing the rotten, wood platform the old heater was on.  They cleaned up after themselves and the final bill was exactly what I had been quoted the day before.

Recent Review: Waylon came out the same day I called and was able to get me an estimate the next day.  After agreeing to the work, Waylon started immediately by removing the old unit and putting in the first new unit for the downstairs.  He got everything with that unit up and running so we would be able cool at least part of the house.  The second unit took a little more time since we needed new duct work, air returns, electricity, gas, etc in the attic.  Everyone who was working on the system was very professional.  Waylon was always here making sure everything was done correctly.  It is obvious that he takes great pride in making sure the job is done well.  After everything was complete he called a few days later just to check in and make sure everything was right.  I am very happy with the work that was done!

Bob came out to the house, and we discovered there was already a gas hookup in the room in question. I apologized for wasting his time, and then he informed me that he was billing me for his time from when he left his office (45 minutes prior). Since he was already on site, I asked him to check the pressure on a separate gas line that wasn't working. This ultimately required an additional 45 minutes, as he had to assemble a tool that fit the gas line from parts on his truck in order to hook up a bicycle pump to the line in order to test the pressure. If he had the correct tool, the actual test was 10 minutes max. He also informed me that the Angie's List coupon for an $85 dollar "free first service" wasn't applicable because I was "out of the area", in spite of no disclaimers of any kind on the coupon, or any warning about this when I spoke with him on the phone. He gave me a bill for $127, which I paid. I thought it was excessive for the work performed, and that the least he could have done was to deduct the $85 for the coupon. I deal fairly with people, and expect them to deal fairly with me. My feeling is that if Bob is going to bill for travel time, he should tell you. Why would you use him outside of Fort Walton Beach proper? I would not use him in Niceville, Destin, or Bluewater Bay, as your bill when he arrives is already going to be $45. Also, if you're planning on using his coupon, ask him about it first -- he didn't honor it for me.

New owners now. NOT the Bush family!!!! Jay Trumbull is the new owner. Went 3 times to discuss what I felt was such an overcharge. Tech came to house opened unit and press the gas release button. Apparently a small piece of debris have found it's way into my gas line. This was a brand new unit which had maybe only run for a week or so because we had such a mild winter last year. The tech didn't even have to pull out a tool and was at my house for a total of 15 min. He said it happens sometimes it's no big deal. The company will probably charge $50 for the call. I thanked him and he left. When the bill came it was $137 I was shocked. I went to the office and told them I really felt this was an overcharge for pressing a button. Needless to say they were not willing to negotiate the rate even with the tech stating what the charge would be.

Our 23-year-old hot water heater failed and began leaking. We caught this before it did any damage to the house, and a plumber was out to look at it within a few hours. He quickly diagnosed the issue and provided recommendations as to what we could do moving forward. We opted to have a new hot water heater installed, and were scheduled for the next afternoon. The install went well with the installation crew showing up promptly at their scheduled time. They had the old heater out and the new one installed in short order. When they were about to light the pilot for the gas, the installer noticed a faint smell of gas, and after several minutes of probing around found a crack in the connection for the gas line. They discussed what they could do, and ordered another water heater. When that one arrived it was a used unit which was sent away, and the crew went to Home Depot/Lowes and bought a new one. Once the third unit was on site, it was installed in short order and we again had hot water. The price for this service seemed a bit high, but given the short turn times and the 24-hour availability that must be the driver. We paid approx $1,000 more than we thought it would cost based on knowing others who have had their heaters replaced. Lastly, we did not receive any paperwork aside from the invoice with notes attached. We were informed on the initial visit there was a 5-year warranty with a 100% remove and replacement of the heater if there were any issues. It would be nice to see this in writing though. I have never had an install happen without some sort of written warranty provided either on paper or via e-mail and attached with the invoice.
