APride Flooring
Very easy company to work with, from both sales and labor perspective. Good quality products and honest sales approach.

We went to Flooring Depot to see cork flooring, but we decided against getting cork. However, Joe, the owner sold us Travertine Flooring. He showed us a sample piece that was Grade AB and when we went to see the travertine at the warehouse the front piece of travertine looked good, but in the pallet were pieces of C Grade Travertine. I wouldn't trust them on any flooring material, they just seem to run an unethical business.

CALL FLOORS INC
There were 2 guys working on the project. One of the men knew exactly what he was doing and the other guy didn't have a clue. The work the man with less experience did was shoddy and had to be redone 3 times. He could not get the floor level with the adjoining floor. They would not make it right with me. The floor looks bad in the area where the work was done improperly.

Maintenance Made Simple was a joy to hire. They were very responsive to back and forth texts and emails and worked with us to find the right time for the work to be performed. The work was done and we are very happy with the outcome. I would recommend their services to anyone needing similar work.

We were told it would take 3 days to do the job. They kept telling us they were going to start on a certain day and never called or showed up. We called the boss, Luca, constantly and he never answered his phone. Finally, about three weeks after our original agreement, (which was Monday) they started. The cork was put down incorrectly, they spot glued it, didn't use a roller and were using serrated knives to cut the cork. They were supposed to return the next morning and didn't show up until 2:00, again, not calling. Instead of pulling up the the cork like they were supposed to do, the kept patching it instead. They left at 2:30 to go the the Home Depot and never returned. Today, the were supposed to come at 11:00 and never showed up or called. Attempts to reach Luca are futile. He never answers his phone or email. This company is terrible. The work men don't know how to do their job and the boss is uncommunicative and untruthful. DO NOT use them. They should't even be on Angie's List.

FFLOORING WORLD
Dealing with this company proved to be frustrating, irritating and stressful. Sure, the president, Mark Krukowski, behaved professionally at first, when it came to writing the estimate, sending his workers here on time, and collecting payment. With all the tile installers out there, I asked Mark what set him apart from the others. He said he was the only one who guaranteed all work and materials for two years. So when the job was finished and his workers had left, I found several areas where they had neglected to grout. That’s when the “fun” began. I must have called and emailed Mark a dozen times, without the courtesy of a reply. To get him to pick up my calls, I finally had to resort to hiding my phone no. when I called. After hours of aggravation and annoyance, at long last, I got my flooring finished. I must add that when Mark brought the contract for me to sign, I noticed he had and quot;forgottenand quot; to include his 2-year warranty on labor and materials, and I asked him to write it in. He did so, then left with it, telling me he’d photocopy it and send it to me. I’m still waiting for that version, though he finally sent me one with his handwritten clause stating and quot;limited two year guarantee.and quot; There are lots of installers whose work is of equal or superior quality. So there’s really no reason to do business with this one.

ATile by John Perry
My overall experience with John was outstanding, to say the least.  Below is a detailed explanation of my dealings with him: Scheduling: He scheduled an appointment to come by my place and look at the work that needed to be done, despite his busy schedule.  He was very punctual which gave me a good feeling from the very start.  After we went over the scope of work, he estimated how much tile I had versus how much I needed.  He offered suggestions that only someone who does this kind of work on a regular basis would think of to help me reach my ultimate goal and I'm extremely thankful for that.  He let me know what his work schedule was and gave me an estimate on when he thought he'd be able to tackle my job.  As time went on, he'd contact me letting me know that he hadn't forgotten us and would get to our job soon. Pricing: When I received the quote, I was pleasantly surprised!  It came in a couple hundred less than another person I requested a proposal from.  And the other tile guy simply asked me for the square footage and threw a price at me without visiting the site.  John came to the site, performed a thorough evaluation, suggested a few things (whether I was going to choose him or not) and gave me an excellent price! Workmanship: The previous workers who installed my tile were a joke!  They left the tile loose in many areas leading to me wanting to have their work redone.  John took the tiles off and pointed out to me that they used the wrong thinset.  It didn't adhere to the tile which was causing movement.  He completed the tile work in our baby's room, bathroom, closet, and storage area.  He even helped me out with the shower liner that was installed.  He instructed me on what to ask the plumbers for and how they should complete the work.  After the plumbers came by and just threw in the shower liner sloppily, he came in and neatly folded the corners so that the drywall could sit flat against the wall.  He also put the durock back up on the wall, then proceeded with the wall and floor tile.  I can tell he takes great pride in a job well done. Professionalism: John was discarding some of the junk items from the other room and would go down, returning with the contractor bag.  I questioned him about this and he said that it was a way for me to save money by reusing the same bag.  Also, most importantly, he didn't dump the excess thinset down my sink!  I live in a condominium so that could've been a nightmare.  He would dispose of his excess material at the end of the day, making sure to leave the place just about as clean as before he arrived.  He is very professional and considerate.  I look forward to working with him again on our future projects.  I've dealt with plenty of contractors on this renovation project and he is hands down one of the best!  I would highly recommend him to anyone of you who needs tile work performed.  Write me if you'd like to see samples of his work.  Thanks. Having worked in the construction industry for many years I could do all of the renovations with the exception of tile work - something I never did before. Gilbert and crew started with applying cork sheets as an underlayment for the floor tiles (required by condo association for noise abatement). The following day they checked the level of the floor which was unlevel in many places. I was using 22" square tiles and after discussion with Gilbert we decided to "float" the floors to make them as level as possible to prevent hills and valleys in the finished floor.  Laying the tiles was then pretty straightforward followed by grouting and cleanup. On the final day they applied some wall tile in the bathroom which came out much better then I thought it would.  All in all the work was done in a good workmanlike manner and I was quite pleased with the results. Some of my neighbors also commented to me that they found the workers to be  be very courteous in passing on the stairways and elevator. I have no reservations in recommending Zion for tile work as they did an excellent job.

I think they did a great job. I worked with Daniel directly and althouh sometimes I would call the store and he would answer with a simple "hello"  and not even mention the company names I was not concerned. Everytime I went in person to the showroom he was there and dealt with me directly. His installers did a great job moving my furniture, discarding of the old carpet, and cleaning/dusting after they were finished. There were other companies in Fort Lauderdale that offered a lower price or offered to beat anyones price but they seemed shady and did not get my business.

Recent Review: Beautiful product, good prices. Only issue was a delay in shipping of several weeks due to inventory. This delay caused issues with scheduling on a whole-house renovation and it would have been quite useful to know about upfront, rather than having to call them repeatedly for updates. When the flooring finally arrived, weeks late, it was beautiful and in very good shape. I would use them again, but I would order much earlier than needed to allow for any delays.

Recent Review: Had a really great experience. Mark at the showroom was knowledgeable, enthusiastic about the project, and responded immediately to texts and emails. He was quick to order samples, offer good suggestions and follow up. Our installer, Pete, was meticulous with the installation and I could not be happier with the finished product. These guys were really professional and delivered a quality product on time and on budget. Plus, they were just pleasant to work with.

Recent Review: Paul and his team of two arrived Wednesday morning to refinish my hardwood floors. They were prompt, professional and very efficient! They moved my furniture on the third and second floor to the first floor where I have tiled floors. They Stripped the finish off the old premanufactured stained floors which were installed in 2001. I also have 28 steps that needed refinished and a handrail refinished. For me to replace my hardwood it would have been a minimum of $10,000.00. Paul charged me around $3500. In 3 days , my maple hardwood floors were refinished and are more beautiful than when they were initially installed. Paul recommended a clear, semigloss finish. They turned out so beautiful and very natural . Everyone comments how beautiful the natural floors are and how great they feel to the bottom of your feet. Kingdom Floors of Boca is a special professional quality team that provides quality work in a short timeframe at a very fair price. Thats very hard to find in this South Florida market. I have recommended them to several of my neighbors already. They are young gentlemen with old school quality workmanship and work ethics that are highly reliable! I found them on Angie's list! Thank you.

Recent Review: Since we didn't have any flooring in the majority of the bottom floor of the house after it was flooded, we were in a hurry to get started with the installation of new tile. I reached out to several tile professionals on and off Angie's List and Anthony was one of the most responsive. He was quick to come by and gave us a quote for work on the spot during his visit. Unlike a lot of other providers he did not charge a 'measuring fee' in order to give us a quote. He was also very easy to reach via Angie'slist and cellphone and was able to schedule his crews to start within a few days of his initial visit. His pricing also included installation materials, matching grout, new 5-1/4" pine baseboards and transition sections between the old and new flooring His crew was very professional, communicated well and most importantly, knew their stuff. The installation looks beautiful despite the difficulty involved with the larger tile we were using. Since we were living in the house while the work was going on, they took the time to plan out the installation, leaving clearly marked paths for us to walk on each day. They also took care of moving the existing furniture around as they progressed with the installation, making it hassle free for us. I highly recommend Anthony if you are thinking of getting any tile work done.
