GALE INSULATION
Recent Review: They were to be here from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. Showed up after 4:00 pm. The job only took about 30 minutes. The installer didn't understand the information the estimator had written on the papers. So I told them to install in the living area and then the garage area.

Collis Roofing
Recent Review: They did a super job. They put it back the way it should have been done. They didn't just roof over a prior roofer's mistakes. They cleaned up nicely everyday. They started the job and ended the job on time. They also installed insulation in parts of the house that did not have insulation previously and they installed some windows. They did an excellent job and I highly recommend them. They were very competively priced as well.

Recent Review: Chris was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful.  I am very happy with the service and work they did and am happy with the results.  The injected foam and ceiling insulation have been very effective at reducing sound transfer down to a minimum.  I would definitely recommend and would definitely use again.

Recent Review: Will did a variety of work on my home just over a week ago. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Living in an older home, he had a number of issues to workaround. Will was eager to find solutions that would work for me. I can't tell you nice how it is to have doors that finally lock properly and open and close with ease. The laundry room now has functional use of wall space.  Will was accommodating with my schedule and I completely trusted him to work alone while I wasn't home. He finished the projects on time did everything to make sure I was happy with the result. Will is hard working, very courteous and does quality work.

QUICK AND RESPONSIVE - THEY INSTALLED THE INSULATION SHORTLY AFTER WE REQUESTED THE WORK TO BE DONE. THEY ALSO REMOVED THE OLD INSULATION SO, AS TO NOT HAVE MATTED AND WET INSULATION IN OUR ATTIC.

I called Daniel (the owner) and set up an appointment to come view the project house.  He was quick and agreeable to set up the appointment the next Saturday.  Daniel arrived at the house 10 minutes late and came in to discuss what we were doing.  Immediately he started to tell me what he thought it was that I wanted.  I interjected him and told him very specifically what I wanted and the reasons behind it.  Daniel told me that I didn't know what I was taking about and everything I knew was wrong.  He went on to tell me more about why I was wrong and how his product was the only way to go.  He then told me that his product was "The Poor Man's Product" and that it works better than all the other products on the market.  At this point I knew that I didn't want to work with him and he was not willing to listen to me.  I told him my concerns with the product he was using and I asked him if he used any spray foam or traditional fiberglass insulation to which he responded "I don't touch the stuff, I don't believe in the stuff, and it doesn't work".  He told me that I need to do my research in all of the product and went on to try to sell me his product.  He finally finished his sales pitch and asked me if I wanted to go on with the project.  I told him that he wasn't willing to listen to me and if he wasn't going to do so and install the product that I had requested there was no reason to go on.  Overall it was a very bad experience and his products are good only for some situations and he is trying to use his one product for all situations.  My biggest offence was when he told me that I didn't know what I was talking about and needed to do my research.  Before calling him I had done months and months of research going to several other houses like mine and I had talked to the home owners, read up on all the ways to insulate my house, talked to other professionals, and had 3 other companies out to bid on the project.  Based upon my research I know what I want and the best route for my project. If you have an existing house and aren't doing a complete remodel and want a quick cheap way to insulate your house his product may be for you however I wouldn't have him do the service.

AAll Florida Insulation LLC
Condensed from copious notes taken throughout the process... <><> History: Our current Central Florida house, with a hip roof, was built in 1970. We have been living in it since 1995. In 1997, we upgraded our A/C to a 11.0 SEER unit, plus had all of the original duct work replaced. (It cost $4140 back then.) In 1999 we had the utility company perform their energy audit, and ended up adding R-19 insulation to the attic then. That improved, but did not solve the overall comfort problem, and our electric bills still were higher-than-typical for a house our size. Over the years, we've had roofers, attic insulators, A/C contractors and even two utility company engineers specifically investigate. They all failed to figure out why our A/C runs and runs and two bedrooms in particular are uncomfortably hot, when the rest of the house is nominally comfortable. The utility company engineers' reasons were more elaborate, but NONE gave us a solid, fixable, solution. <><> Fast forward to June 2015: All Florida Insulation was one of three contractors we contacted to bid on removing rodent damaged insulation and adding even more insulation to our attic. All three were A-rated on Angie's list and were on out electric company's approved contractor list. One of the other contractors looked at my attic, then gave me quotes for removal of ALL old insulation due to rodent damage, and then adding new insulation. He offered no other information. The other contractor didn't even come out to the house. Instead the woman gave me a phone quote for old removal and new insulation based upon square footage. <><> With a thermometer properly placed, we found out our attic was 133 degrees hot on a sunny day. That turns out to be 14 degrees hotter than the hottest a properly ventilated attic should be. Pursuing this, we had the aluminum soffit removed, the wooden soffit removed, the blocking insulation cleared out, foam insulation baffles installed, and then a new aluminum soffit (with the sufficient ventilation holes) installed. Plus, we had the missing ridge vent installed and had my A/C ducts tested and sealed. The attic temperature dropped to acceptable 122 degrees on an identical sunny day. That is 11 degrees LESS heat trying to get into my house from the attic. (Check my reviews for the other companies I contacted and contracted with.) During and after all was done, the roofer, soffit specialist and I concluded that: [A] More than 20 years ago, the original 1970 wood soffit was covered over by a punched punched aluminum soffit, thereby blocking the air flow through the few holes in the original soffit (see photo). [B] The original batt insulation was crammed up against the roof deck, further blocking air flow. (see photo) (C) We are missing a ridge vent, trapping the hot air over the very bedrooms that had been most uncomfortable. <><> After all the corrective work was done, Chris from All Florida Insulation came out. Upbeat and a knowledgeable professional again, I told him what had been done. We discussed the particulars that his company needed to do to finish my attic, His estimate was very reasonable. I had previously checked and there are no Federal, State, County or utility company rebates available to us. Chris told me that [because his business and my house are both in the same city] the our city offers a rebate of up to 10% of project costs. That's up to a $230 rebate! <><> Plus(+) preceding a sentence indicates very good... +On the day of the work, I was called to tell me they were on their way. +The lead guy ?Greg? reviewed the proposal with me to make sure it matched my expectations and agreed price. +They put a drop cloth under their truck to keep engine fluids from dripping on our driveway. They worked steadily throughout the morning. They secured the tops of the insulation baffles (installed earlier) before they began blowing insulation. +At one point, they asked me if I wanted them to insulation under the plywood covering the ceiling joists (storage area). They finished shortly after noon. Clean-up was excellent. (see before and after photos) <><> IN CONCLUSION: Whenever I contacted anyone at All Florida Insulation, they were professional and supportive. I am extraordinarily happy. Not only about their conduct and services, but with the free advice given at the very beginning. That advice ultimately led to solving the decades-old problems so many other contractors had missed. I'm over 60 years old and have had many contractors work on the houses we've owned. I can not remember a contractor who has given us so much value for the cost of products and services delivered. If Angie's list allowed pluses and minuses on their grades, All Florida Insulation would be A+ all the way down.
