Quality Plumbing
Recent Review: Dale and Sherolynn were a breeze to work with!  We talked extensively at the showroom and at my house about what I wanted and what my priorties for the remodel were before we ordered everything.  Dale measured once, made the CAD drawings then I went to the Showroom and talked them over with him and we tweaked them. Then I met again with Sherolynn, the designer, and we tweaked a bit more and worked on the details.  Before they put in the final order Sherolyn came to the house and remeasured and we tweaked the plans a bit more.  All the tweaking and the attention to detail beforehand paid off--everything was perfect when it got there! The cabinets I ordered were semi-custom, (ordered from S. Dakota of all places!) and came in a week early (projected time 6 weeks; they arrived in 5 weeks). Quality called and said they would be out the next Monday. They pulled out the old cabinets in one day and got the new ones installed over the next two days--while also installing the old cabinets in my laundry and garage for a nominal fee. The countertops were ordered that 3rd day and came in about 8 business days later . These were installed immediately, and the plumbing and electrical were completed over the next 2 days.  Time from rip-out of cabinets to completely finished was about 16 days.  AND it was painless!  There was no waiting for electricians or plumbers, no mismeasurement, no problems at all!  AND they cleaned up every night before leaving. Dale, Sherolyn and Ashley are genuinely nice people who really want to do things right and will do their best for you. I heartily recommend them!

Recent Review: The owner came out on time for the appointment to give me a quote. He was very professional, made notes of our conversation, listened to what I wanted for the remodel and made suggestions that were of great value. This was a complete remodel. All cabinets were removed including the sink but the plumbing lines remained including the appliances. This was an easier job since the cabinets were just being replaced without altering the kitchen footprint. There was enough left over granite to put a back splash behind the stove and make a ledge in front of the sink. I bought a microwave that was installed over the stove and the electrical and plumbing companies work was coordinated by the vendor. This was good to not have to set up times with them as I also have used these companies in the past so I knew who they were. Some take away items I would encourage for anyone using this company. 1-Get a written end date in the SOW. This job took longer than it should have as they only had one person doing the job. I'm not sure of the demo as it was done cleanly but the work to install took longer than it should have for the size of the kitchen. Be prepared for delays if there is a 2nd party in dealing with the counter top. I choose the top but there seemed to be an issue and the cabinet maker said the were waiting on the company to deliver and install the top after the cabinets were installed. 2-Quality of work was only as good for the interior of the cabinets because I inspected them after they were installed. I believe it would have been left with gaps where the back and side cabinets met had I not spoken up about them. The owner said that was typical and I disagreed. I've never seen gaps in any cabinets regardless of the quality (ie real wood, laminate). This was fixed prior to my final sign off. 3-Who ever pushed the stove back in place between the cabinets after the granite was installed clearly could see the stove didn't fit but continued to push it in place and damaged the sides (porcelain). They had to sand (not sure if that is the correct term) the granite in order to get the stove to fit and have clearance and then put something on the side of the stove (porcelain repair/paint?) to cover up the damage. I paid 1/3 of the full price and then another 1/3 mid-way. The final was paid after my inspection and sign off. Overall I was very pleased with the work.

Recent Review: Our experience working with Steve Tapanes for our project was terrible. Steve over promises and under delivers, constantly falling short of his word. A simple kitchen upgrade involving ONLY countertops and sink that was quoted at 6-8 weeks took over 3 months (18 weeks) to complete. Consistent communication was lacking and follow up items were not treated as a priority, but rather at his convenience. Steve was not there to oversee the work being done, leaving many mistakes and poor workmanship. It took 3 attempts to install a new sink - he was present for none of them. To this day, he has not called to check on the final result. Do yourself a favor and choose another company for your Home Renovation/Repair needs.

Recent Review: All of the staff was helpful and professional. If we saw any changes we would like, they addressed it immediately. Since they do more remodels they we will ever see, they made a lot of suggestions that they thought would  make the kitchen more ergonomic and useable for us. They paid great attention to detail, draped plastic sheets to minimize the dust and cleaned up their workspace every day before they left. I would use them again in a heartbeat and we kinda miss not chatting with all of them every day during the project.

Recent Review: There is absolutely nothing good I can say about the service this person was suppose to provide and did not.  She represented herself to me as a contractor but does not have a contractor's license.  She has no knowledge of the remodeling process, plumbing, electricity, HVAC, and no knowledge of the currently available products in interior design. The day the demolition of my kitchen began she left on a two week vacation.  The demolition not unexpectedly uncovered issues with the plumbing and ventilation and she was nowhere to be found to come onsite and help deal with these findings.  When I was able to locate her, her flippant response was, "Well, everything is just a problem waiting to be solved."  Nice.  This was not at all helpful when I am standing in my stripped out kitchen with no one present to direct the process.  This interaction was followed by a series of approximately 20 email tirades that read like the diary of a mad woman in which she berated me, the customer, and my husband, who turned out to be my saving grace when he was able to make the appropriate contacts.  I am happy to share the emails with you if you contact me.  I ultimately had to hire a true general contractor to be onsite and orchestrate the project which turned out quite nicely, no thanks to Pat Glisson, Cunningham, Beaudreau or whatever name she is using currently. If you are wise you will stay as far away from this woman as possible.  She is not only incompetent in the field of remodeling and interior design but is also dangerously mentally unbalanced.

DRatner Construction and/or handyman2hire
RATNER CONSTRUCTION The process started with owner of the company ,Steven Ratner, coming to give an estimate for the things we wanted done in the house. The price APPEARED fair, so we continued with the company. We needed the kitchen and 2 bathrooms worked on. The bathrooms had cave like soffit above the tubs and that was our main reason for updating. They put a huge trash bin in the middle of the driveway which made it unusable for us to park. This huge bin stayed there for most of the work. The demolition was finished and that is when everything changed. We came in after demo to see that the soffit above the tubs was still there. Ratner stated that wasn’t in the estimate and this is how the entire process of working with Ratner went . The demo took place in MAY AND THE PROJECT WAS NOT COMPLETED UNTIL OCTOBER 11! The final inspection only passed because OUR handy man was there willing to fix the things the inspector found not passable on the 3rd visit…. Ratner construction failed almost every inspection that the city Gainesville had ,sometimes 3 times. At one point the house was not worked on for weeks. It turned out that Ratner only had ONE person on his crew so when the person had a family emergency the house just sat! We were told on numerous occasions that no subcontractor would work with Steven Ratner. The person that did the tile work was a new hire for Ratner and Ratner also had him do the drywall. The tile work was beautiful, but the ceiling and walls were horrible, and we had to pay another company to come in a smooth out the ceiling and walls before a painter would touch them. If you are still reading this yes, painting was not included .What was? Nothing it seems. Our only advice is to find another contractor. Steven Ratner continually throughout the process would change the price and hand us updated price contracts! If you do use Ratner Construction video every conversation you have with him. You will need it.
