Recent Review: These people give the impression they do not want your business. It was an awful experience and they really appeared not to care. We went to them wanting to get information on a gas insert and logs for our fireplace. We were told we had to call and make an appointment with the salesman but he was on vacation for the next week. A week later I called the salesman; he said he was just going into a meeting with a customer and he would call me back when he was done. He didn't... to make this story shorter, this happened two more times and a third time I left a voicemail. I admit, this was now my fault, I should have just called someone else... but, we get our LP from Sawyer, so I gave them multiple chances. We finally hooked up and the salesman came to the house, took the information and said he would email us with a proposal. I had to call to remind him, twice. Finally we got a proposal and said, lets, go with it. Ten days later we got a call from them to schedule an appointment for them to come do the work. We picked a date and were told they would call that morning to give us an idea of when they would be out to our house. We mad arrangements to be at home, but, didn't hear from them that morning; so I called around noon to find out that we weren't on the schedule for that day. I asked them to check again and tell us when we were on the schedule. I was told we weren't so we would have to schedule an appointment. I said, that is enough, cancel the order. The following Monday, a technician calls and said he was scheduled to install the order and was on his way. After waiting over two months, we decided to let him come and install it. So, he did. There were some issues, including the remote didn't work properly so we called to have someone come out to look at it. We were told it would be two weeks before someone could get to us. I said, don't bother, we would find someone who had some pride in their work and cared about their customers. Would I recommend them?? In my opinion, they displayed the worst customer service of any non-government organization that I have ever dealt with. Run away.... don't walk. RUN! Go to a company that cares.

Recent Review: Chimney Keeper professionals arrived on time, and cleaned and inspected my chimney for the wood burning fireplace as agreed.  As an extra favor, they looked over my other chimney for the gas fireplaces, told me they looked fine, and recommended a company to help me get the fireplaces started up.  They were very courteous and professional, even helped me get something down from my roof.  My only issue was that they began cleaning without the cover over the fireplace and I walked in and saw ash in the air.  They quickly covered it, but I had to do a bit of cleanup because I stupidly had all doors open and ceiling fans on.  I would definitely do business with this company again.

Recent Review: I am so glad I picked this company for my outdoor kitchen, what a great experience. Everyone was friendly, up front, and the quality of the work was outstanding. Everything was done in a professional, timely manner. You can tell they really know what they are doing, and they only use the best stuff. Not only did we enjoy it immensely when the weather was warm, but since we have the fireplace also it's even better now that it's cooler. I'm sure it will be a huge selling point when we eventually put our house on the market as well. We had put this off for far too long, and I have no idea why. We should have done this years ago. Thanks guys, keep up the great work!

Doug knew almost immediately what was wrong. The unit was complicated to disassemble, but Doug was able to finish the work without any problem. Doug was neat, courteous and very competent. I would hire Doug again without question.

Reached out to the company twice, first through Angie's list. When I hadn't received a response after a week, contacted them by phone. Took all my contact information with a promise to get back to me but never did.

I called Setzer's on or around January 8th, and left a message with the fireplace guy to call me back. Nobody called me back, and we were in the neighborhood on the 13th so stopped in. After a long wait, someone finally assisted us and requested we pay $125 in advance just to get on the list for service. They said they were busy, and might not get to us for a couple weeks. Called on the 21st and again on the 22nd, no response. On the 23rd, I emailed the manufacturer, Heat N Glo, directly, who ultimately initiated a response. I got a call from the owner, and someone finally came out that week. They diagnosed the problem, and said they needed to order a part. Two weeks went by, and someone called and said they wanted more money from me to order the part. I called the owner back, and he said that was wrong information. The part was ordered on the 28th of January. It is now the 4th of March, and I am still waiting for anything from them. Unbelievably terrible.

Contacted the company in the first week of November wanting a quote to build a floor to ceiling unit out of wood with a linear fireplace and a space above the fireplace with doors to hide the TV. They told me they could do the entire project from the framing and building the cabinet to inserting the fireplace box and installing necessary gas lines and any venting, if needed. It took over a month to get the quote for the job and this was only after i removed part of the scope of work (the framing and building of the wooden wall cabinet including doors to hide the TV over the fireplace). This left them with only having to quote me on the install of the firebox and gas lines and venting needed. When I did finally get ithe quote on December 8th it was higher than the other quotes I have received so I did not use them for the project.
