Recent Review: Creating a new kitchen or bath is a journey. It can be a rocky trail with twists and turns or a mellow and enjoyable stroll. Thankfully in the end, I got the latter. I, like many before me, marinated ideas in daylight daydreams and night time scenarios that simmered and kept me up late into the night. I sought estimates, and was embraced by a combination of complexities. Liking the provider but not aligning with the product-- Aligning with the product not meshing with the provider. And sometimes awakening to the reality my dream needed tweaking. Fortunately I was not too far down the kitchen campaign when I found Steve Materia who owns Empire Cabinets along with his partner Neil. I actually get scared and sweat a little thinking about perhaps not finding Empire Cabinets and the “what ifs” —Why? Because there are installers and then there are creative master craftsmen with a perfectionist meticulous eye, extraordinary talent who don’t settle for mediocre, go the extra mile for the client and CARE. And guess what? With Empire Cabinets and Steve as your installer, you don’t pay more than a regular installer you just simply get all the “extra” because that is simply who he is. Neil mans the store and is the CAD creative genius. Steve is the confident creative cabinet craftsman. My Mid Continent Classic Cherry kitchen with Triple Crown molding, matching cabinetry panel ready fridge surrounded by a built-in majestic pantry which took patient, careful, expert, and thoughtful installation is living proof of Steve’s skill. My calm sanity bears witness too. Some providers don’t communicate well or leave a client feeling insulted, cheated or worse. Before I found Steve Materia and Empire Cabinets I experienced all those emotions. Some providers subcontract their installers or leave you to find your own installer after they sell you the cabinets. (my ears soaked in some disturbing horror stories while gazing away in other cabinet places) Steve always does his own installs. Steve linked arms with me in recommending other providers that instinctively have the same creative eye, sense of excellence and were budget friendly. Each of these providers then told me, “You are lucky to have Steve-there simply aren’t craftsman like him that don’t charge an arm and a leg”. I honestly had the DREAM TEAM for my new kitchen. Cabinets, cabinet installer, plumber, electrician. I trusted them to be alone in my home as well. If you choose another cabinet company or installer, that would be a crime. You will have stolen from yourself the experience, excellence and talent you and your kitchen or bath deserve. Trust me, I did my homework, I researched, I charted and graphed prices and providers. Save yourself the time and energy and just go talk to Neil at the Empire Cabinet Store front- - he is the expert and unsung hero, graphing your project and arranging the pre-installation details. Then talk to Steve. Others can talk the talk but Steve walks the talk and backs it up with over the top expertise and a wealth of experience. By the way their prices are very competitive. It’s the Trifecta. You win- just like I did. As a last word of advice, don’t overlook Empire over a couple hundred dollars a competitor might try to offer-- that would be ultimate foolishness because you WILL get more than that in his gracious extras and out of the box talent regular installers simply don’t have and won’t offer.
