Recent Review: When we bought our house, we were not happy with the pool services employed by the previous owner. The pool would look green even though they supposedly just cleaned the pool the previous day. The cleaner would blame it on some algae outbreak, "Can't be helped", he would say.  So I found Pool Solutions of North Florida, gave them a call and got a price quote that was much more reasonable than the previous company. So I hired them to do weekly pool cleaning services. The owner has been very responsive and professional. We have the same pool cleaner every week which is a big plus point, instead of having rotating, different cleaners each week. The cleaner does an amazing job with our pool and we are always impressed with the level of cleanliness of the pool. Their prices are also competitive and cheaper than the previous company that cleaned the pool before we bought the house.  All in all, very pleased with their services.

Recent Review: The pool cleaner did not work. I called within a few days and was told that it was because my pool was dirty and to wait a few days for it to filter out. I did have some algae in the pool and I was charged an extra $100.00 for extra help in getting the pool in shape. The extra help never came. Meanwhile the weekly service started. The young man spent about 5 minutes on our pool and then ran off before we had a chance to talk to him. Same the next week. So I went to the store and told them that the pool cleaner still was not working and that the person was rude and did not perform as per the original agreement. He came out from the back of the store and proceeded to shame me for owning the type of pool that I have (it came with the house). He then tried to humiliate me by pointing out that the pool cleaner I bought was a poor choice and would not work with my setup. When I told him it was recommended by his boss (the owner's son-in-law), he stammered and tried to back pedal. Over the next few days I spent hours cleaning the pool in hopes that the pool cleaner would work on a clean pool. It did not and I took it back for a refund. I was charged a 20% restocking fee and told I could not have the $100.00 back that I paid for extra help in cleaning the algae. Finally later that day the owner called. She was arrogant, condescending, and argumentative to the point that I finally just hung up the phone. Although I did get a partial refund, I am still out about $200.00.

Prestige Pools Constructors Inc
Recent Review: I recently went through a significant life change and was having trouble affording my monthly pool care so I cut it back to once a month, rather than once a week. In an effort to help me, Gina said she'd come an extra week to be sure the pool water was clean and balanced -- without charging me extra. I'm deeply grateful, and I want people to know that's the kind of professional commitment you get with this company. They really are committed to excellence and are super responsible! Please note: they not only service pools, but they install them too. In fact Bobby put my pool in 8 years ago and it's still going strong, lovely to look at and no problems.

Paradise Pool Company
Recent Review: Paradise Pool Company of Gainesville is the single worst pool company in Alachua County.  Warn your friends that if they want a pool installed, to seek business with any company other than Paradise Pools.   Over the last 6 years since my installation, we have had 5 major repairs needed on our pool.  Four of those repairs were leaks in the pipes of the system including two times at the drain, very bottom of the pool.  Each repair has required major digging in our yard and two have required that our pool slab be jack hammered and destroyed.   It?s bad enough that we are only able to use our pool from May to October due to the weather, but then to have the pool out of commission because you cannot get Paradise Pools to come out and do the repair is unacceptable.   Paradise Pools does not know what the words Customer Service mean and do not demonstrate any level of customer service skills.   They do not answer their phones and screen calls.  You can leave messages and they do not return them.  They are nothing short of dishonest businessmen.      My latest repair was yet another leak in the pipes at the drain.   After getting the leak detection company to locate the problem back in November of 2015, I made several attempt to contact Paradise Pools to come out and initiate a work order for my repair.   I finally received a call on 12/15/15 and was told by Dean, the service manager, that the repair crew would be out on Friday 12/18/15.   No one showed up.  Again.  No matter what time and date Paradise pools tells you they will be there, they don?t show up and they don?t ever call to let you know why or where they are.  Now to pickup a check or sign a contract, they are there Johnny on the spot.  The crew finally showed up at my home on 12/23/15, dug a 3x3 hole in my slab and foundation and left.   From 12/28/15-1/24/16, I left a total of 22 voice mails on their system asking where the repair crew was, when they would be back and for the service manager Dean to call me back.    I received one voice mail from Dean on 1/21/16, with a condescending remark of ?trying to call you, AGAIN.?   Lie.  He never tried to call me.   On 1/25/16, we fired Paradise Pools and asked them to not step foot on our property again.   This was done via voice mail because again, we could not get anyone to answer the phone.   On 1/26/16, Dean called me and stated that the reason the repair was not done was because on 12/23/15 when the repair crew came out to the house that someone on the property told them to leave because the leak was already repaired and to leave the hole unfilled.  What?   If that was the case, why would I leave 27 voice mails asking when someone was going to be back to make the repairs?   If that was the case, would it not make sense to call the customer and follow up and clarify the situation.    Instead, Paradise Pools wants to call and offer me a bold face lie about the situation.   When I explained my frustration to Dean that afternoon, he hung up on me.  That?s right, hangs up on me.  Tom Solberg is the president of the company and the sales man.  He is your best friend until the minute you sign over the payment for the pool.  At that point, you never see him or hear from him again.   My pool install was guaranteed to be done in 45 days.   4 months later, my job was completed.   Twice during the construction, the pool rebar that was setup fell and caved in.   That should have been my first sign of the lack of engineering skills on behalf of Paradise Pools.  One month after our pool was completed, the first leak occurred at the drain pipe putting the pool out of commission for 3 more months.    Mention Paradise Pools among the circles of pool companies including Pinch a Penny, Fun State Pools, Florida Leisure Pools,  American Leak Detection, Roberts Pool Repairs, to name a few and they cringe.  Paradise Pools has the single handed worst reputation in the business.  Side Note:  We called Funstate Pools on 1/25 and they were out on 1/26 to my home to make the repair.  It took them 45 minutes to patch the leak and fix my pool.  45 MINUTES!!!   Shame on you Paradise Pools.  Bottom line?  Paradise Pools is unreliable, provides zero customer service,  don?t show up for appointments when scheduled, don?t return calls, and are unbearable to deal with.   I?d also like to add that they are not accredited by the BBB due to the number of complaints received.  Read these other complaints below: -Ed boyd find someone else ..... they come for an hour or 2 per day..they don't have dependable CLiving Waters Swimming Pool Service & Repairs, LLC
He worked for me for a long time.  When I moved he informed me he did not want to work at the new location because we have trees nearby (I thought cleaning the pool was part of a pool cleaners job!).  I needed him to continue to service my old house until it sold.  He ended up quitting with out telling me.  My pool went unserviced with no notice.  The pool was filthy.  He also left our pool robot that needed repairs broken.  He knew it needed parts, but he just left it there without saying anything.  At times over the years I had concerns, but I am loyal.  Clearly that means nothing to him.  He did not even call to say he would no longer be working for us.  He just quit without saying anything and left the pool in a state of disrepair. I would never use Living Waters again.

I had a good relationship with them for many years and then he ended it very badly. He quit and didn't notify me and left my pool not taken cared of for several weeks because he never bothered to tell me and we weren't living there. I came back to a green filthy people when I had people trying to buy the house so I wasn't very happy. I had no issue with the cost and prior to that, the service was good. I'm not sure why he wanted to quit, he just did and he didn't bother telling me about it.

We purchased a $50.00 coupon from Angie's list.  The coupon said " $50 for Pool Maintenance Instruction and a $50 Credit for Annual Pool Service.  The coupon was supposed to be a $100.00 value. When the gentleman came to the house, he was unfamiliar with our pool filter.  We had to call the previous owner of the house so the service man could ask questions.  We did not get instruction on how to maintain the pool.  My husband wrote a check to the company & I did not know that he paid more than the coupon. We were charged $175.00. When I called to question the charge, the serviceman said that there was a $95.00 service call charge.  This was not noted anywhere on the advertisement.  I will say that he did offer to give me my money back or to give me a pool testing kit worth $75.00.  I agreed to the testing kit, and his assistant delivered it the next day and did provide additional instruction.  I would not do business with this company because I felt as though I had been hustled.  If there is a $95.00 service call fee, that should be clearly stated.  The service man claimed that the error was caused by the Angie's list representative who put the add in incorrectly.  However, I do not see any changes even this many weeks later.  Also, I noticed that another customer had the same complaint.
