Recent Review: This contractor removed the old bathroom. Everything. Right down to the studs. To contain the dust and general mess, he constructed a very effective system of plastic barriers. He hauled away all debris and maintained as clean a work area as humanly possible. Then he proceeded to systematically install the materials needed for new, modern surfaces. He competently worked with drywall, subflooring, tile, grout, wood finishes, and paint. He managed all the various tools and necessary machinery so that I had a minimum of inconvenience. He installed the shower door of my choice without complaint even though the directions supplied were incomprehensible. He worked with the cabinetry and granite suppliers to ensure proper installation with as little bother as possible to me. Delays did occur, but the fault lay with the suppliers. He and his helper demonstrated even tempers and were open to requests for changes. Both men were professional in their approach to the job and entirely honest in submitting bills for materials. Throughout, there was genuine pride in the work done.

Recent Review: Overall everything went well .If anything unexpected came up Mr Deshey took care of it efficiently. Mr. Deshey and his men took pride in their work; often going back to touch up something they weren't happy with. Mr. Deshey was very good about checking around to find the best price and quality of products he used. Mr.Deshey always wanted to make sure I was happy with the job being done.

Recent Review: We know that the owner Ed Hathaway does a lot of large projects, and this one has to have been one of his smaller but a somewhat challenging one. A major problem was that we live in Virginia and were only able to be down in PCB for short periods, so tight scheduling was a must. Ed spent a lot of time with us making sure that he understood our needs and desires, and recommended good cultured marble, plumbing, and shower door subcontractors that proved to be good choices. Because of our time constraints we insisted that the start date be fixed well in advance and that the work would proceed as quickly as possible until finished (i.e., no starting and then pulling workers for other jobs!); Ed's office manager Carol assured me that although she knew of other contractors who did that, Ed did not’t! He was even willing to have that put into the contract. Ed started on the agreed start date, and every day the workers returned to put in a full day's work. I was impressed with the way that the work was scheduled so that the demolition, preparation, shower installation, plumbing, shower door installation, etc., all proceed smoothly and seamlessly. Having professionally taught and performed program/project planning and execution, I was impressed! In addition, some things that prospective customers should consider would include: - Perhaps first and foremost, if you want a “quick and dirty” job at a low price – go elsewhere! Ed gave us a fair price considering the quality of the materials and his workmen and subcontractors, but we could have gotten an inferior (not custom) job done for less. Our condo is a rental one and so must withstand a lot of wear and tear, and we expect that we and our guests will enjoy that shower for decades! - Whatever Ed says, he will do (a man of great integrity). I know this not just from my experience, but from hearing it from others whose opinions I value. - Every day the workers were there right on time and always gave us good estimates of when they would be through for that particular day - Ed originally said that the work would probably take 5-7 business days, and he was right on there, needing only the 6th and 7th days to do some final touch-up to ensure that the work was first class. - We took pictures of the work in progress and were impressed with their attention to quality! In so many areas they could have cut corners, but never did – instead they appeared to have done more than would have been required! - His workers and subcontractors all were clean-cut and spoke good English, so communication was never an issue. - Every day at the end of their work the contractors swept and vacuumed up, leaving the place as clean as humanly possible. - The workers were more than courteous, ending almost every sentence with “sir” or “ma’am” and were very receptive to our questions and desires. If you want a first class job and are willing to pay a little extra for it, then Oak Tree deserves your consideration.

Recent Review: Mick Connelly and his daughter Danielle were extremely professional. In addition they both were very easy going and easy to work with. The work was completed as promised and in the time that was promised. I had some additions and subtractions as we went along and Mick was more than happy to assist me in anything that I needed done. Mick arrived on time and sometimes work well past 6 or 7 in the evening. I would highly recommend this company for any work needed. And if I need additional work after the professional house inspection for sale I will not hesitate to call them.

It's highly unfortunate I am writing this review but I do not want others to make the same mistake that I made in hiring Scott Anderson for a job. First I would like to explain what it was I had done so whomever is reading this has a reference. Me and my wife had decided to re-tile our master bath, we had the shower fiberglass insert taken out and the shower re-tiled up to the ceiling and also had it wrapped around the wall the shower head is on above the bath tub in order to create fluidity. We had decorative tile put in as well with a stone floor and seat. 1. Scott said it would take 3 - 4 days, it took him 12 working days. (job was never completed) 2. He was late everyday, this caused problems with our daily schedule seeing as how I work and my daughter is in school. 3. He would take frequent smoke breaks (not a big deal) but our house would smell like cigarette smoke and it seriously impeded his work ethic and he left his and his workers cigarette butts in my lawn. 4. Poor workmanship and quality on the tile. a. shower door installed backwards b. when he wrapped the tile, the tile was not in line and the cuts were jagged and uneven, when I asked him to fix it he grinded down the tile with a grinder, damaging the tile further, and left black marks all over the tile that I can't wash away. c. scuffed up and put holes in my wall and door frames pretty bad when taking out the fiber glass insert. d. was cutting tile in the bathroom when he didn't need to creating a huge mess that he did not clean up. e. He did a poor grout job, you can see the mortar bleeding through the grout. f. He did a poor mortar job making the tile uneven and not level. 5. He clogged our drain. He forgot to bring his snake so he couldn't fix it. we had standing water in our shower for three days. Each day we tried to get him to come out and fix the clog but each day we were stood up. 6. We have $220 left to pay him but will not be paying him due to the money we had to spend on a plumbing company to come out and fix the clog. I have pictures to prove all of the claims that I am making, I have many more than four but it is not allowing me to upload more than four. Again this is not how I wanted this to go, it was a complete nightmare and it does not make me want to do this ever again. My desired end state in writing this review is so that others don't make the same mistake I did in hiring Scott Anderson.

Amanda Brackin, designer met with us and one the first day she wrote things down. Several times after that she would not write things down. The contract was revised one time and several times after that when making changes I asked if we shouldn’t revise the contract again and she said, “No, don’t worry about it”. As time went along she would not respond to text or e-mail as soon as before. Her voicemail stayed full and you could not leave a message even though she would tell you to call her anytime. The workers started and we did not get pictures for several days although she said we would. They preferred we not live here while remodeling was going on. Our painter came by and called and told us we needed to see what was going on. The place was a disaster when we came over. We couldn’t get in the front door as they had it blocked. They had broken the lock on the sliding glass door and were using that as their entrance. Dust was every where and they did not cover our brand new furniture. They had our dining room furniture outside in the rain. The painter came by and covered it. Many pictures tell the story. I tried scanning them but the color doesn’t come out. If I need to go to Office Depot and copy them I will. Seashore Tile did not do the quarter round. They threw away the thresholds to the new wood floor and we bought more but Sergii paid me and he’ll pay the painter for putting them down. The kitchen cabinets have to be repainted because they had dust on them and holds where the employee drilled the wrong holes. They didn’t patch them. The cabinets are rough as they didn’t sand them properly. Seashore will pay our painter to fix this issue and the quarter round. We are having to pay the painter for any other problems he is fixing. Leaking faucets had to be fixed or they ruin the new cabinets. We will have to pay the painter for fixing the leaking faucets. I feel like Sergii just went somewhere and found some guys and asked them if they wanted to work for the day. This is terrible. I thought I would be walking into my dream place and that didn’t happen. None of these guys are professionals.
