For 2 months, my master bath has been a construction zone. The contract period was 30 days, with an estimated completion time of 2.5 - 3 weeks. The contractor abandoned the job on Friday, March 18, 2016. I have no sink or shower faucets, no shower enclosure or door, no wiring for 2 sconces, no sconces, thus no light, no countertop for the cabinets, no installed cabinet doors, a drawer bank that was not what I had specified, no operable exhaust fans, no trim around doors, no trim on a shower wall, no final paint on the walls, no paint on the baseboards or doors, no operable toilet, no operable bidet, and no running water. With respect to employees and subcontractors on the job, only one was professional in demeanor and only one performed quality work. He quit after 2 weeks. Of the five employees (handymen), three stated this was their first day on the job. As to the contractor, he makes promises that are not kept; he does not listen or respond to verbal requests, explanations or descriptions regarding work plans; and he is habitually hours late in arriving on the job site. Mr. Merritt attempted the job with no plan drawing, even though I requested such, with specifications, numerous times before and during the job. He wrote bad checks to employees, who walked off the job mid-project. I could go on, but, to summarize, my experience with Seaco Renovations Design & Build, LLC and its owner, Don Merritt, was a stressful, nightmarish, regrettable disaster. And I must now spend approximately $5,000 to complete the work I paid to be done but was not delivered. I have soft and/or hard copies to document all the above.
