Recent Review: Tracy and his helpers, Wilbur and Antonio, were punctual, polite, and professional.  This old house needed a lot of work as the previous owner had done a poor job of keeping the house in good condition, i.e., sloppy painting, flooring improperly installed, kitchen cabinets outdated, appliances old and dirty, formica counter top chipped and stained, etc. Tracy and his guys did excellent work--I am very pleased with the quality of the work and the integrity of Tracy and his men.  In fact, he will be doing some exterior work for me in a few weeks.

Recent Review: AHS Took care of everything and the service companies they sent were all first class. The schedule to fix or replace was always to our liking fiting our schedule. Our list of needs were as follows Garage Door Opener fixed Microwave replaced Microwave repaired Sump Pump repaired. Hot Water Heater Replaced All were taken care of with no harm to us or our schedule They are a great company and stand behind there contract.

Recent Review: Don was great to work with.  He was prompt, extremely professional and worked quickly and efficiently.  He did exactly what I asked him to do and also took the time to make a few suggestions that I agreed with.  Very knowledgeable.  I would definitely recommend the Chief Handyman and will certainly call him again in the future.

Recent Review: We own the “house from h***” where everything was “stick built” in 1979 with great care to avoid being straight, flat, flush or plumb in any respect. So, these guys had their work cut out for them and after work began, a lot of “fixes” had to be though up to accommodate less-than flat walls and floors and we were not always comfortable with their solutions.. They came out to the house several times and made many measurements – sometimes three or four times. After a number of visits to the design center, we settled on a cabinet style and the scope of the project. Work began in October 2011 and should have taken about four weeks. When they began installing the base cabinets, we found that they mis-measured for one of the corner units which threw the measurements/ placement of everything else off. They offered to take the offending corner base cabinet back to the shop and work on it until it fit properly. I insisted that I wanted a newly manufactured cabinet of the correct size. Since I was writing large checks for this project for new correctly-sized cabinets, I was unwilling to allow them to modify the oversize base cabinet. That meant that there would be a significant delay incompletion (from before Thanksgiving 2011 until January 2012) to allow time for manufacture of the new base cabinet. For some reason, they also decided to stop work on the guest bathroom as well as stopping work on the kitchen. After some discussion, they agreed to go ahead and complete the guest bathroom. To gain some additional storage space, we agreed to go with a “kitchen sized” vanity cabinet (taller and deeper) in the guest bath. That meant that we could not buy an “off the shelf” cultured marble vanity top and, at extra cost, we had to have a custom vanity top manufactured. Eventually the newly-built corner cabinet arrived and work began anew – until we discovered the sink was off-center beneath the kitchen window due to some more mis-measurements. More discussions ensued and we eventually arrived at a workable solution. So about four months after initiation, the remodel was finally completed – just as we’d gotten used to having the refrigerator in the living room but cooking in the dining room on the microwave. The company has some aversion to using an actual formal contract that spells out specific work and specific costs which made us uneasy – they use something they call a proposal which lumps work and costs together. (Mike Holmes from the TV show “Holmes on Homes” would have had a cow.) After contacting some previous customers, we decided we could live with the proposal method although we never did feel totally comfortable with it. They did good work but you’ll want to triple-check their measurements. We’ll probably use them again when we remodel the master bath room. I’m glad we agreed to the recessed light fixtures – with LED bulbs. We have lots of light for very little energy usage.

We were in Florida and the service was done in Ohio but I believe the gentleman did a good job. When he came into the house, the microwave wasn't there and he didn't realize he needed to pick it up. He charged us a three-hour worth of work instead of one. We eventually reached a compromise and paid for an hour and a half worth of service. Overall, I was still happy with the service.

They surveyed the job and said they would remove and install new cabinets, remove the microwave and install new microwave making it flush with the cabinet using a filler also move the microwave outlet in the cabinet to the correct side of the cabinet.  They also measeured for a countertop and sent us to a location to pick a product.  He also indicated we might get a better price if we had it quoted without his installation, just using the countertop outfit.  We went to countertop place picked 3 styles and sink and waited and waited for quote.  Apparently the quote went to the contractor directly and they would not quote us directly.  So we purchased our countertop from Lowes.   We went ahead with the cabinet quote and plumbing.  The plumber did a great job installing the faucet and disposal in a timely and proffessional manner, he was not accompanied by the owner.   When the Cabinets came in the owner and helper arrived on time with the cabinets that matched our already installed cabinets.  Our Cabinets were Jim Bishop cabinets so we looked for an authorized provider, which they were.  They started the removal process and it seemed very unproffessional.  The owner had one worker with him and he treated the worker very poorly.  As the removal process began the owner started to complain about portions of the job, it would be easier if we didn't have to put this filler panel in to make the microwave flush or if we didn't have to move the electrical outlet.  We were only replacing the microwave cabinet for the purpose of making it look correct "FLUSH".  My husband said we would not have purchased that cabinet if we knew you were not going to install it as quoted.  The owner got mad and said you can't do this now, we said we only wanted what was contracted nothing more nothing less.  He seemed to have a little fit and told the worker to start cleaning up they were leaving.  So at this point we had 2 removed cabinets and a microwave removed and 2 new cabinets and filler panel sittling on the floor.  They left the job came back with a $7 check for the difference in the $1060 deposit and work performed.  Needless to say we DO NOT RECOMMEND  the house doctor.  My husband and I installed the cabinets and microwave ourselves and are very satisfied with our own work.

The whole experience was very frustrating. Too many of the services performed needed corrections and there are still a few that have not been resolved. Appointments were made to come to my home to review the poor workmanship and no one ever showed up or called. I sat home at least 4 times plus on a Holiday Monday waiting for someone to show up - always an excuse of some sort of why he can't make it - I would be the one calling to find out what time he planned to arrive, only to be given a time and he never showing up. I sat home yet another weekend waiting for someone to show up, and no one did. I called on Sunday and left a message for him to call me back, he never did. On Monday I called around 1:30pm and spoke to the owner, he was very rude to me, yelled at me and stated I was the last thing on his mind and he hung up, I called him back and said don't you ever hang up on me, as I am trying to resolve a poorly installed tile flooring job which he had previously acknowledged. We had agreed he would be there the following Saturday, he never showed up, again I had to call him. He claims our call is very important to him, which is not true, if so, this matter would have been taken care of already and in a professional manner. There were a few other issues that I needed to speak to him about, but have not been able to have a mature conversation with the owner. His disrepect for me as a senior lady was uncalled for and therefore I could never do business with him again.

Amanda Brackin, designer met with us and one the first day she wrote things down. Several times after that she would not write things down. The contract was revised one time and several times after that when making changes I asked if we shouldn’t revise the contract again and she said, “No, don’t worry about it”. As time went along she would not respond to text or e-mail as soon as before. Her voicemail stayed full and you could not leave a message even though she would tell you to call her anytime. The workers started and we did not get pictures for several days although she said we would. They preferred we not live here while remodeling was going on. Our painter came by and called and told us we needed to see what was going on. The place was a disaster when we came over. We couldn’t get in the front door as they had it blocked. They had broken the lock on the sliding glass door and were using that as their entrance. Dust was every where and they did not cover our brand new furniture. They had our dining room furniture outside in the rain. The painter came by and covered it. Many pictures tell the story. I tried scanning them but the color doesn’t come out. If I need to go to Office Depot and copy them I will. Seashore Tile did not do the quarter round. They threw away the thresholds to the new wood floor and we bought more but Sergii paid me and he’ll pay the painter for putting them down. The kitchen cabinets have to be repainted because they had dust on them and holds where the employee drilled the wrong holes. They didn’t patch them. The cabinets are rough as they didn’t sand them properly. Seashore will pay our painter to fix this issue and the quarter round. We are having to pay the painter for any other problems he is fixing. Leaking faucets had to be fixed or they ruin the new cabinets. We will have to pay the painter for fixing the leaking faucets. I feel like Sergii just went somewhere and found some guys and asked them if they wanted to work for the day. This is terrible. I thought I would be walking into my dream place and that didn’t happen. None of these guys are professionals.
