Recent Review: I approximately spent $1500. I found them using my phone book. They inspected my floor joist, my flooring structure. They drew engineering drawing with specifications for repair of the rotten floor joist. They are a bit pricey. They didn't seem to have much experience or knowledge of construction practices. It is easier to deal with a company that is aware of construction practices and they way they draw the drawing. I was very impressed because he came here and he quoted and he stayed in my house for over an hour. He gave it a thorough inspection. He crawled through two foot-high wall spacing for over an hour. I was very impressed. I refuse to go down because it scares me down there. You have to crawl through this one foot-high little opening into a two-foot crawl space. He did it very thorough. I will use them again in the future, if needed.

Recent Review: The engineer that came was knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. The inspection cost was $400, which in my opinion is high, but overall I would recommend. The gentlemen was 15 minutes early, which was a bit annoying, but otherwise no complaints.

Recent Review: I opened the door to the garage one day and there was light coming in the original 1959 wooden garage door and i realized it was bowing out and the header was slipping down. I talked to garage door companies and they were unwilling to touch it because it would require structural engineering to bring up to hurricane code. No handyman would touch it because it was too big of a job for them, and I talked to several general contractors who would either refer me to a structural engineer who couldn't seem to coordinate with anyone, or they weren't interested because it wasn't a big job. One contractor said he only did highrises. And then I talked to Lenny, and he wound up coordinating everything and everyone. The county inspections, the extra electrical work, the engineering, the concrete work and the rebar work, custom sizes, everything. Very happy! The crew came out, worked quickly & professionally, cleaned up after themselves. Lenny was very responsive and always returned phone calls in a timely fashion. The price was more than reasonable. I am working on my house piecemeal, and I would not hesitate to use him again.I just wish I had found him for the last big job!

CAKOURI CONSULTING ENGINEERS
Called the structural engineer to evaluate a property crawl space and structure before purchase. I was told it would cost me $150, but after a few minutes on sites giving excuse about the fact he could not give a professional opinion unless some destructive work happen, he offered to check the crawl space but asked for an additional $150 to 'go in'. I paid the money, he stuck half of his body inside, tapped here and there and discovered some concrete spalling but overall the experience was painful as he could not provide any additional information as I could have seen with my own eyes.  Aside of stating the obvious he was very cautious to not provide any professional 'speculation' because he lacked information. Information which would require thousands of dollar of destructive work to provide. Interaction with Mr Akouri was painful and did not lead to any additional information

This was a major construction job not just a simple remodel due to the lowering of the kitchen floor and structure changes. As such, it took almost a year from beginning to end. Paul did his best to keep the remaining part of the house free from dust and debris during that time which we really appreciated. The job was permitted and there were delays in the beginning due to problems between the city and the drawings created by the structural engineer. Paul kept us fully informed. Once the plans were approved, Paul worked steadily to complete the project. He is a hard worker and often puts in extra time if things are falling behind. He is on the job himself and brings in a helper as needed. He is able to do most if not all construction tasks including welding, carpentry, tiling, electrical, drywall, and plumbing. And, he does them well. Paul cares about his work and takes the time to do it properly. He pays attention to the little things and has good suggestions for design and enhancements. He is smart, and understands quickly what is needed to create a better look. He has a sense of humour and is eternally optimistic which makes working with him pleasant. He does have a tendency to underestimate how long something might take but that can be accommodated. We are very happy with Paul's work and would definitely hire him again.

AAAA Construction & Restoration Services
I had a home inspection done by another company, also from Angie's list, not knowing that this company did them as well.  I found AAA construction and Restoration when searching for structural engineers which I needed because of the results of the inspection.  I called John today, New Years Eve, and he has given me hours of his time to address  the questions and concerns that came out of the inspection.  I was told I needed either an expensive repair or a new roof immediately and that  there might be a structural problem as well.  However the inspection  reports received did not contain photos or elaboration regarding the indiviual issues found throughout the house.  I did not know whether I should move forward or not with the purchase, much less an additional structural inspection at an additional cost, to bring in an engineer given, the roof issue etc.  Too many questions, no answers.  John first spoke with me about the issues and asked me to forward the reports when I receieved them today, which I did.  He called me back and reviewed the report and all the concerns, with me.  He took the time to research the listing, the neighborhood comparables, the pictures of the roof through his software, and discuss my concerns about the structural repair as well as the condition of the rest of the house.  He did this all at no cost and he provided me with a written roofing quote  at about $4000 less that the roofer who did the inspection.  If I choose to walk away from this purchase, I will definitely use this company to inspect the next prospective house.  I will definitely use this company as a general contractor for my needs when my home is purchased.  He seems so honest, caring and thorough.  Thank you John.
