Recent Review: We had such a great experience with this company. We bought our house less than a year ago and didn't know the cabinets were not up to code as far as height for a microwave to be placed underneath. We called around and other places were quoting us a higher price stating we would need both an electrician and a handyman. Handyman Matters did it all. Steven was punctual and very professional. He was very thorough and completed the job in a timely manner. Now I have about 2 feet of extra kitchen counter space! We already know we will use this company for our future needs.
Recent Review: He did a beautiful job. He completed the work in two weeks and he finished in the time frame given. I went with them because they are a well known company and our neighbors recommended his service.

I thought the price was a bit high from the start. I saw the reviews on Angie's list and figured the price was because they are highly recommended. Setting up the appointment was pretty easy. Guy came out and gave me an estimate. After the estimate I didn't hear from them for a week. I randomly got a call the day before and said they were coming out tomorrow morning. This is a newly purchased house, so there isn't much furniture to dodge and a lot of space to work in. I had new carpet installed a week before. You would think that in the year 2017, handymen would wear booties on their shoes to not track in dirt. This wasn't the case. Dirt, which turned out to be grease, was on my new carpet. The can light they were supposed to fix they couldn't fix. While reinstalling the old can light, there is now an indentation from where the light meets the ceiling. Had they never come out to fix anything, the light would be better than it is now. Both are non functional, except that this light doesn't blind in with the ceiling. The microwave, doorbell, and dishwasher went pretty smoothly. Problem was, they left a mess. They couldn't even arrange the papers/manuals that came with the new appliances, they just randomly scattered it across my counter. They must not have had rags because the entire counter was wet after they left. My neighborhood is just being built. They literally only had to walk across the street to throw away the boxes of the appliances. Instead they leave it a complete mess in the garage. The Styrofoam wasn't even in the boxes either, just scattered throughout the garage. Again, they must not have had rags, because the garage has tons of water all over it because the dishwasher was never dried off. They weren't able to replace the weather seal under the garage. They just put the old one back on and still charged me for labor. All in all, I was fooled by the reviews on here about the company. I wanted to write an honest review with pictures so others will not get fooled like I did. I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone else.

Removal of the existing cabinet and microwave was pretty straight forward. Connecting to the existing outside exhaust vent proved to be quite a challenge. Something I could never have done myself. I was extremely impressed with their level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Everything was clean at the end of the workday, like they weren't even there. The job took a little longer than I anticipated, but that was due to the complexity of the job, not the talent level of the these guys. Quite the contrary. I never heard any grumblings or complaints from either of the guys. I wouldn't hesitate to have these guys do work at my mothers house. They are that good !

The handyman was on time and did a great job. He helped me load the items in the truck. I will definitely use them again.

At first I was accepting of Towne Construction’s work. They did not run an additional electric line to support additional lighting added to the kitchen, but merely tapped into the line for the microwave. Now, every time I run the microwave the lights in the kitchen and dinette dim with each cycle of the microwave. Truly annoying but I accepted their explanation that it would require a new circuit box with larger capacity. Another electrician has now contradicted that. In addition, the bathtub plumbing leaked, which they had to replace. Then, a few months later the grouting in our master bath had to be replaced because it was falling out. Two months after that the grout in the kitchen was doing the same. The ceilings along the tape lines in the rooms where they pulled down the popcorn ceilings had to be repaired as they were cracking out (we hired another contractor to do this). Now, we find that they did not properly level the dinette floor when installing the tile, choosing instead to “build up” the floor under the installed surface tiles with 1-3 layers of the same tile packed in underneath. Of course this flooring had to be replaced—-the new contractor actually taking pictures of this sub-standard work because he had never seen anything like it! As far as I am concerned, this group has COST us money with all of the rework we have had to do over the last few years!
