Recent Review: I engaged Mr. Parker, because he seemed to have a lot of experience, showed me pictures of past work (some of it quite elaborate), raved about his own quality, had a couple of innovative design ideas, and gave me a considerably cheaper price than anyone else I contacted. Unfortunately, the job took longer than he said it would, he showed up late twice, and the quality has proved, over the long haul, to be poor. There are gaps between the bamboo strips, which is unsightly, but worst of all, a year after the installation, the floor is starting to bow. Another contractor told me the right way to do this job was to suspend the wood over the existing concrete floor. This would prevent moisture from causing the warping I'm now seeing. This other contractor told me this would not cost extra to do, and was necessary, even if moisture wasn't detected at the time of installation. This is, after all, Florida. Mr. Parker told me it was unnecessary to suspend the floor, and installed it directly onto the concrete. I believed him because of his experience. He was wrong.
