Jansen Quality Construction
Recent Review: From the design phase to completion, and after, Jansen has been extremely professional. The quality of work is excellent, and they stand behind their work months after the project is complete. We had a couple of minor issues, and they were corrected without hesitation. All of the Jansen employees and subcontractors were friendly and clean up after themselves each day.

Recent Review: As usual, we are thrilled with the kitchen job. Appolo is prompt, efficient and an excellent time manager and pays attention to even the smallest detail. We did not need a total kitchen remodel but needed cosmetic upgrades and Appolo was so helpful by providing us with options. We did not need new cabinets as the ones we had were fine. We changed out appliances, purchased pre-assembled countertops, new lighting, new cove ceiling, new paint job and ...We are thrilled as our kitchen looks totally different and we did not spend the 15 grand the big box stores said it would cost. Thanks again Appolo for a job well done.

Recent Review: Terry did  an excellent job on every aspect of his work.  The front door had rotten wood at the bottom of both sides from water running down the sides from an overhead leak.  Also, the trim work at the door jamb was rotten as well.  Terry cut out the rotten wood and replaced it, replaced the door jamb, and caulked and painted everything.  Unrolled the canvas awning on the front porch,  relocated the metal support bracket on one side where it was not properly installed, which caused part of the leak problem,  and attached it where he found wooden support to attach it to.  Moved another metal support bracket to match the other bracket he relocated.  Unrolled canvas awning totally and attached it to the outer supports.  Caulked areas at the original spots where the brackets had been and caulked above the storm door.   Matched and Installed panel over damaged-from-roof-plumbing pipe-leak.  Removed and replaced ceiling light fixture which was damaged by the leak.  Caulked and finished off ceiling repair.  Tested range hood parts and determined it needed a new motor and fan.  Installed new motor and fan and it works like new.  Took out rotten wood around a window that had a bad overhead  leak.  Terry removed all of the material around the window and rebuilt and wrapped it.  Caulked where needed, and painted new materials which included the windowsill.  Looks better now than when I moved in. Punctuality was not an issue with me and I let Terry know this.

KITCHENS PER SE
Recent Review: Kitchens Per Se' was to coordinate our kitchen remodel and provide our desired cabinetry. The designer came over and met with us, took measurements and pictures, and required a cash deposit before producing a plan drawing. From the time she took the money,  the project was not done as promised. We were never given anything better than a rudimentary sketch. The details that we counted on Kitchens Per Se' to take care of were not- many dimensions were incorrect. The instructions regarding the stove/oven we were to purchase was incorrect, Though we provided a detailed list of all exact dimensions for all of the new appliances to Kitchens Per Se'. This required the cabinet tech to fabricate a custom shelf unit in order to make the appliance work. An issue with Kitchen's Per Se is that the owner does not pay attention to the cabinet details and measurements, and does not communicate enough, especially when red flags are raised by the cabinet company. The cabinets are not even on each side of the kitchen window. When this flaw was questioned they gave us a poor excuse about the range hood.  The Kitchens Per Se' rep. tried to pawn off a damaged, poor quality sink that they had that another customer had refused to us for a price that was higher than that of a new sink. We found that the price of all items that were purchased from the Kitchens Per Se' were highly inflated, so I purchased several items online to reduce being gouged as much as possible, and to get what we wanted without there being errors in the order. Most of what Kitchens Per Se' promised was late, delayed and mostly incorrect. My wife ended up doing the most of the coordination with the carpenters, electricians, dry wall person, plumber and tile man despite her being employed more than full time outside the home. Of course, the artist from Per Se' blames others for all the issues- she never actually provided the service that her company charged a high price for- that is to make everything in the remodel as correct and smooth as possible. Avoid Kitchens Per Se'  at all cost! We learned a very expensive and stressful lesson.

We initially asked the installer if he could install our new microwave oven above our stove. Explaining in detail, that my wife wanted it higher so her large pots would fit on the stove top with enough sufficient clearance between the units. To have this done, we needed them to cut into the upper two cabinet doors half way, reattach the hardware and finish with a nice professional look. The two men, surveyed the job and said they could do it, and do the electrical also for around $250, and we agreed to the price. They worked on the job for about 2-21/2 hours. When done, we were excited to have the job done, and our oven operational, but cosmetically, there was/is much to be desired. Their cabinet work was very poor, crooked handle on one door, hinge was angled on the bottom of the other, plus they used off colored caulk to cover laminate panel gaps in the finished sides. They also scratched the top of our brand new range top control panel.  (Note:At the time of this kitchen work, we also had a new roof going on the house where the roofers were actively working.) As the kitchen repair men were working on the microwave vent duct, they were conversing with the roofers to duct movement and the repositioning. Repairmen had stated, they needed to push the vent pipe 16 inches up above the roof, and that the roofers could cut the remaining vent pipe to fit their cap, which they did. After another 1/2 hour the kitchen men said they were done, cleaned up all the dust, tools, and particle board fragments, collected their check and left. All in all, we were not at all thrilled with the finished appearance, and with all this, the roofers called something to our attention after the Friendly Home Repair crew had left. It seems, upon their completion with our microwave vent, the repairmen had pulled down the vent stack to fit their opening, and left a section opening in the attic with no connection at all. The roofers were done cleaned up and left, we called the Friendly Home Repair owner to please finish their job. They came back later, went in the attic, and added a piece to connect the vent, but they charged us for their supplies which we thought was not fair. That should of been included in the total price on the job plus we should not have had to call them back to fix their mistakes in the first place.
