Although I am new to Angie's list I am not new to construction. I started in construction in 1968 while working with my father after school. I have been around construction since then.
Perfect! I can't say enough about everyone included, always on time, so very neat and the completion looks great. I always prefer family owned companies - they really have a vested interest in their client.

It always goes well with Roberto. We have been using him for years. He is honest, dependable, and never leaves a mess behind. He does exactly what he says he will do and more. We stopped in the middle of this job and he helped us find another contractor to add some exterior trim. He then returned and finished the job. I have used him to paint my home and my mother in laws home as well. Almost every homeowner in our neighborhood uses Roberto. Wonderful Man.

Logan is very personable, went right to work, had me check his progress as he went along. He was unable to paint the trim on the outside of the house because it was raining but offered to come back another day to finish. Very happy with the work done.

It went well overall. He completed most of the work when we were out of town. When we got back we noticed a few things but he touched them up. We felt his price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. However he did not give an itemized estimate like others did so we went on faith and luckily it turned out well.

We have used Jack 'O Trades for all of our inside and outside repair and new construction projects for the past several years. We will never use another agency. They always explain the work to be done and the parts of the estimate. They are always on time; the work is excellent. The workers will explain the nature of the work and time required. We have two more projects on our list--one inside and one outside--and are contacting Jack 'O Trades to schedule.

I needed some repairs done on my home windows and in my master bathroom, which was remodeled about 4 years ago but not done properly. After talking to two other contractors, I called David Spence, Inc. to give me an estimate. May I say it was the best move I made for this project. David reviewed all the work I wanted done and took pictures of everything. The project involved special circumstances as it included leaving the existing shower installation from ceiling to just above floor level in place. David was willing to do the work for me even under these circumstances. After receiving and accepting cost estimate the work was scheduled to begin on 10/31/12. Two of David's craftsmen arrive on time that day to perform the shower demolition and reseal the windows. The men conducted themselves in a truly courteous and professional manner as they did the work. One thing that impressed me is how well they performed the demo, continuously keeping the area free of debris as they worked and leaving it extremely clean when they finished. Two plumbers installed the new shower drain and did the vanity plumbing repairs. At their suggestion they also moved a hot water heater overflow drain pipe that was located in the shower floor area. The pipe was originally installed such that it exited through part of an exterior wall that was on the inside of my outdoor screened-in porch. They moved the pipe so that it exited the wall outside of the screened-in area. The plumbers were also courteous and professional. They checked every aspect of the plumbing work to ensure everything worked properly and there were no leaks. Next came the drywall repairs, pouring the new shower pan, and reinstalling the tile and the shower door. Again, the work was done skillfully and professionally. Drywall repairs were clean and match the existing wall texture. The shower floor and curb are now constructed the way they should be and look fantastic. I am extremely pleased with the work these folks did. If I were to choose one thing that impressed me most other than the quality of work, I would say it is the honesty of David Spence. The estimate he gave me for the shower repair was based on time and materials because there were some unknowns in the nature of the work required. The final cost actually came in below the estimate. David was honest and up front with me throughout the entire project.

Pricing was fair and competitive. Choosing the colors involved lots of samples and they were very helpful and patient. Arrived as scheduled. Dug trenches. Covered plantings. Taped off windows. Power washed. Sealed the entire exterior. Painted the body of the house and trim, including gutters and window sills. Asked which color to use before painting exterior doors and questionable trim. Did a great job painting the lanai ceiling after being warned moisture might cause the paint to drip. They "timed" it perfectly to avoid this problem. Changed some trim areas on request. Very good attention to detail. Our neighbors love it and so do we. Everything was very professional, save one detail at the end. Most trenches were covered and mulch replaced but one tall sprinkler head was broken off at ground level (I'm sure accidentally). I spotted this the evening before the final walk around. The next day I found that instead of fixing it, someone just stuck it in the ground and put mulch around it. I called attention to this and the cleanup worker repaired it and showed me it was fixed. I left him to finish up and later discovered he departed without cleaning up the area. He left an exposed hole where he dug as well as an open trench down several feet of the adjacent wall, and did not replace the mulch. When I called the owner he promptly had everything cleaned up. If they'd repaired it to begin with instead of trying to hide it we would be happier. Obviously we would have had quite a problem the next time the sprinklers were turned on. All in all aside from this minor hitch we're very pleased and would not hesitate to recommend them.
