Do not do business with Flooring America, unless you want your floors to look like this. : ( On May 18th, 2015, we entered into contract with Flooring America. They installed approximately 1900sq ft of laminate flooring as licensed professionals. We asked them for a quote to remove the parquet flooring before beginning and the sales person, Robert Dentiste told us there was no need to remove it, as we could go right over the top of it. The problem is, that wasn't accurate information. We trusted the licensed professionals advice. They put down a moisture barrier over the top of the parquet/under the laminate. That moisture barrier acted like a lid on a skillet and after nearly 4 years, the humidity built up, causing the floors to not only tent up, but also to grow black mold underneath. We had a gentlemen over by the name of Eddie, that they sent to us to inspect what was going on last week. He tore apart our floors to discover the issue and his exact words were "they should have never gone over this parquet" Following this discovery, I called several local flooring companies to see if they could help us to repair the issue and the moment I say "they went over parquet floors" the response is "OH NO" followed by "we really can't take on this mess. We learned from the first gentlemen, Eddie, that he would no longer fix our floors either as he has been made to believe if he does, he will no longer be referred work by Flooring America. The manager of Flooring America, who's name is Bonnie, acted very open to helping us and asked if she could send an "independent flooring specialist" out to determine the cause of the issue. I told her I had concerns about her hiring someone in her interest and she said "no no, I just want to get to the bottom of this, let's keep the communication lines open" I agreed. He came over and is now telling her exactly what she paid him to say, that we have a slab issue with a leak underneath. We've had an independent inspector out as well as serve pro who've both reported there is NO moisture issues with the slab. Our house is in shambles. Our workspace is a wreck. We have lost productivity and the ability to meet with our clients in our home office. Lastly, I have been to the doctor several times this year with complaints over unusual allergy issues. Well, I believe I have an answer to that as well. I have pleaded with Flooring America to do the right thing. As a business owner, if I were in their shoes, not only would I make it right, I would do something to make up for the inconvenience as well. Unfortunately, this terrible company does not take pride in the work they do, they do not care about their customers well being. DO NOT ever work with this company.
