Recent Review: Right after a nearby lightning strike during a thunderstorm, I found that when I tried to use the over or broiler, I'd get an error message on our gas stove. The top burners still worked fine. When I looked it up online it said that error message was usually either a sensor or the main electrical board where the display is located. I called Courtyard at noon on Friday and the receptionist said they could come between noon and 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The repair person arrived around 5:00 or so with his young daughter and checked it out. He first tried the sensor, but that didn't fix it so he said it was the main board on top of the stove. He agreed that it was the lightning strike that did it. He said the part cost $180 and since the warehouse had it in stock, he could have it on Wednesday and make the repair on Thursday. He said the receptionist would call when they had the part and arrange a time for the repair. The receptionist called on Wednesday and said that again the repair would happen between noon and 6:00. But apparently there was a cancellation because he showed up at or just before noon, so the job was done before I could get home as I planned. My wife paid the $280 bill and called me to let me know that the repair person and his daughter had come and gone and that the job was done. I would prefer to have less than a 6-hour window for when a repair person arrives, or have them call when they are on the way, but that is a minor issue. I would not discourage anyone from using Courtyard.
