Recent Review: I contacted three contractors for an estimate for this job and Applied Service was the middle quote amount.  They came out and were very friendly and said they had a lot of experience installing the Roth tanks.  Their web site was also very informative and they received good reviews there and on Angie's list.  I picked them for the installation for all those reasons. They emailed me before the date of the appointment for installation and explained the additional costs needed for the town inspection.  They also called me the day before the install to make sure everything was still on schedule. On the day of the installation, they arrived on time and spent approximately 5 hours installing the new tank, reconnecting it to the furnace, adding a tiger loop aeration system, transferring the oil from the old tank to the new one and cutting up the old tank and cleaning the inside.  They made sure the furnace was back up and running at the end of the tank install.  They also installed 2 bollards in the garage in front of the tank to protect it from potential vehicle damage.  Finally, they cleaned up after themselves.  I was watching them the entire time and asking questions and they were very friendly and answered all my questions.  They worked in close to freezing conditions outside and in the garage, with some snow on the ground.  They offered to provide some protection for my carpet in the basement, as they were walking back and forth, but I already put some down myself so it was not necessary. The next day the town inspector showed up (as promised) and approved the installation and the old tank cleanup.  I then emailed them a copy of the permits as they instructed me to speed up the removal of the old tank.  One week later they showed up and removed the old tank, also as promised. Overall, it was a very positive experience.  They were friendly and professional and met all my expectations.  I would recommend their services to anyone who needs this sort of service.

Recent Review: I have been using Narberth Plumbing for about six years now. They were recommended to me initially by a friend. Joe Carr, the owner is extraordinarily responsive when I call, and my problems usually occur on Sunday for some reason, and Joe calls me first thing Monday morning. Sometimes he comes out and sometimes it is Vince. They are both lovely, honest people who are down to earth and personable. Like family. This particular visit was an relatively easy one in that toilet seals needed to be replaced. I noticed that the floor in my bathroom was wet. The diagnosis was fairly obvious. The fee was fair for a couple of hours work. Both gentleman let you know when they will arrive, and call if they are late. Other jobs have included replacing kitchen sink incinerators and faucets, installing washing machine shut off valves, putting in a hot water heater, installing new bathtub faucets. Nothing is particularly inexpensive, but then again, no plumbers seem to be inexpensive. The bottom line is that I believe in their integrity and professionalism.

Recent Review: He came in well under the price he quoted. He also took away the old tank. No mess, no fuss. Kept me informed at every step of his work No bother, very instructional. Professional, courteous. Tim took care of the problem and also kept us in heat for the duration of the work. He found great reasonably priced replacement tank. Did all the paperwork and also handled permits. He knew a lot about the permit red tape and handled it all himself. He and his helper Daniel took care of the problem. Just can't say enough about how happy we are with his work.

Recent Review: I had Meenan come in for a separate service call and the technician noticed that the oil tank was leaking slightly. I was in the process of selling my home and had two home inspections done. Neither indicated a problem with the oil tank so I am a little suspicious of the technician, especially since no mention was made about having an independent inspection of the oil tank done. However, I was trying to sell my home and decided it would be a good effort to have the tank replaced anyway. The tank was over 53 years old and certainly was not in the best state. Meenan does not do oil tank replacements themselves, instead they hire a subcontractor (Superior Tank & Energy). The service personnel arrived on-time and made fast work of the removal of the oil tank. No oil was spilled and no damage was done to my house. By mid-afternoon, they were done. The area was cleaned up and all piping in the basement was painted. The personnel were friendly and answered the several questions I had without appearing irritated. I was very happy with Superior Tank & Energy's work. I can't really rate the cost as I didn't get other estimates due to the time constraints imposed with selling my home. The bottom line: I wouldn't hesitate to contact Meenan for this work in the future but I would have liked to get some other estimates. I also would have liked to get an independent analysis of the oil tank to see if a replacement oil tank was actually needed. However, I suspect that even if the oil tank was ok, being that the oil tank was over 53 years old, it was due to be replaced soon and I rather replace the oil tank before a leak than have to worry about cleaning up an oil spill.

AToran Heating & Air Conditioning
Art and his crew were prompt and courteous. They worked very hard; removing my old oil furnace, oil tank and installing a chimney liner, gas boiler unit and hot water tank in 2 days. His original estimate was within my budget and the final cost was NOT MORE than the original proposal. He even came out the following Sunday to sign a Pa. rebate application form which I had just downloaded from my computer. You need not ask me if I would use Toran Heating again. Art and his crew are honest. That alone is refreshing in the world of contractors.

Except for an issue with a subcontractor of Fantes (one that disposes of old oil tanks) everything was good and we are now enjoying the new furnace and hot water heater.

AValley Oil Company
They came to top off my oil before price increase. They could have just waited but in all the years we have dealt with Valley they have treated us like family. They even came out for emergency service one Thanksgiving day! They are always on time, professional, courteous and provide exceptional service. We also have our air conditioning and heating hits under contract. I have never once had to call for routine maintenance as they call me! I would never think to even look elsewhere for service or oil. They are amazing.
