Recent Review: The experience started with meeting at our house where we discussed our needs and expectations for a completed carport to garage conversion. Our needs and expectations were listened to and in the end, we have a new garage that appears as though was original to the house. That was our main goal and it was met. We live in a county where permits are not an easy feat, especially with new structures/additions. Prior to calling Bella Brothers, we had hit a wall with several other companies that couldn’t get the proper permits. After being referred to Bella Brothers, Tom and his team were able to process all the proper paperwork, architectural drawings, phone calls and meetings with our county. After some serious behind the scenes work was put in, only then could the real work begin as permits were granted. They started the job during the time frame they had estimated. The men who showed up were courteous and professional. They kept the job site clean while working and after. We were excited every day to see the progress that quickly was unfolding. The job was finished in less time then they had estimated and we were thrilled. I would highly recommend Bella Brothers Construction to anybody looking to have quality, experienced work done on their home.

Recent Review: The 400 sq ft flat roofed addition and carport on our 1958 rancher developed multiple hidden roof leaks and we were plagued with mold and mildew. Dave and his crew did a wonderful job of demo and reconstruction of a new peaked roof addition and carport per our extensive building plans. Dave was easy to contact via phone or email whenever questions arose. He provided us with a detailed monthly construction schedule and we had weekly meetings to discuss their progress. He was very good at trouble-shooting whenever a construction problem developed and was very patient with our concerns and requests. His right-hand man, Eli is a top-notch carpenter and each of his crew was very professional and friendly. The sub-contractors he used for roofing, electrical, plumbing, and excavation were respectful of our property and did a nice job. Dave will let you know up front if there is something he cannot do and is very fair with his pricing. We highly recommend this company.

Recent Review: From start to finish, we were very pleased with the work of Mark Fenimore.  We have had him do work for us before. He is a friendly hard working man.  He appeared promptly at 7am 3 days in a row.  2 days his brother worked with him. The last day his wife came to paint the doors.  Mark worked on the job until it was finished.  Excellent cleanup every day before ending and excellent final cleanup.  Great attention to detail in his work and pride in what he does.  Did what he said he would. This is the 3rd time we have had Mark do work for us.  Mark came daily with his truck as well as a covered van attached with all his tools, etc.  He left that van in our driveway with our permission over a weekend as we have a large double driveway. We had several neighbors come to look at the work as they saw it develop and thought it was wonderful.

Recent Review: This was a 'time and materials' job at hourly rates as it was hard to tell how difficult it would be to open the wall and to work with the existing stairway. Val was fair with estimating the work and we discussed weekly the progress, options for each detail, that included cost saving ideas. We balanced what was needed asthetically (the new stairway needed a bumpout in the ceiling in the main room, so we put a whole 'closet' underneath to avoid seeing the steps in the ceiling) with the cost. Val is excellent with old houses - mine is 1750 - and the handwork that is needed to keep new renovations sympathetic to the existing older material. It took about 12 weeks, a little longer than I expected but I could see where the time was spent, Val cleaned up every day and minimized the dust and dirt from the wall demolition pretty well. In the past Val has put on a porch and built carports for me in a traditional style. He can work to 'spec' or create a carpentry solution of his own.

Recent Review: We interviewed four different builders, checked out some of their work and references. We had a list of to do items for the entire house besides the two additions. We needed to see what the total quote would be for our wish list and then start cutting where needed to reach our target dollar amount. The Hambleton's contacted the township for us to find out zoning restrictions and etc. We asked for architects they have dealt with and were very pleased with the choices. After interviewing three of them we settled on one that worked out very well for us and worked well with the builder. We had to go for a variance in our township because we would be building in the set back from the property line. We had a variance meeting and to our surprise the builders were there for our support and to answer any questions the board might have. After the permits were issued building started right away. Jay and Brad the owners had a timeline put together for the entire project. We talked daily and if we couldn't hook up with each other we also used email regularly. As funds were required, they would hand me the signed document of what all was being paid in detail. Signed by both builders and myself and we each kept a copy. Bookkeeping was excellent and if I added anything over the agreed upon bid they would add it with an explanation and I would also sign it. We lived at the house during the construction but only because the builders put up plastic barriers for us to minimize dust and kept the site safe and clean at all times. This was very important due to the fact we had a young child and puppy around all the time. To help cut down costs they gave us the opportunity to work on many projects ourselves to help save money. The builders took the time to teach us how to install insulation, gave us the tools and were always a phone call away if we needed help. We asked many questions, changed a few things in the plan and they were always supportive and gave their opinion which I appreciated from their years of experience. The end result was better than I ever imaged. I come home at night and I feel so fortunate to have find builders that I could trust completely with my home and family. I highly recommend them to anyone!

Having been told that Landis was the best company in the area for this work we assumed a contract written to the previous owner of the property when we purchased the house...we waited almost 2 years for the work to be done and trusted that we could depend on these folks even after we had returned to our summer residence (this property is our winter home). The work was done while we were not here and for the most part we were satisfied, there were 3 VERY minor items that we felt should be corrected. Today two crews showed up, fixed a portion of the soffit that they said was just an oversight, cleaned up a number of areas that were soiled during the job and removed some caulking from a place where it had leaked out of the joint between two panels. I pointed out the fact that we had expected the area where this caulking was to be replaced completely, not just patched up I was informed that I was the "biggest *expletive* he'd ever encountered and my wife wasn't any better.

Started having problems a few months later when water came down the back wall in heavy rain.  In late 2010 the inside roof/ceiling panels popped out and the inside roof/ceiling sagged.  Since it was winter, I waited until the weather got nicer to call Jason Tete.   I spoke to Jason on 3/25/20111 and told him I was afraid the ceiling would come down and damage my car. He said he would come that day 3/25 or Monday 3/28/2011 to fix the ceiling/roof.  Jason never showed or contacted me to reschedule.    I just had the feeling after I hung up the phone after speaking to Jason that he would not keep his promise.  I emailed Jason approximately a month later to clarify that I heard him correctly that he would do the repair either 3/25 or 3/29.  His emailed response to me was he had inspected the property and would do the repair when available.  I have surveillance cameras on my property.  I checked the surveillance videos from 3/25 through 4/1 and did not see Jason or anyone from his crew stop by to inspect the problem.  I spent $5500 on that carport and feel I did not get quality workmanship.  I had to find and pay another contractor to fix Tete Brothers mistakes.  The contractor I hired to fix the problem said there was no J-strip installed to the front of the ceiling so that is why the ceiling panels could not be properly anchored.  Also, the carport was not properly leveled causing it to slope the wrong way.  In February of 2012, the city inspector told me that the carport was in violation of city code and that Jason never got a permit to build it in the first place.  I've now had to pay an additional $1150 to get the carport removed!  When I contacted Jason about this, he said he'd gotten an EZ Permit and that he didn't have any records about my project anymore!  I checked with the inspector about this, and he said there was no permit on file for my address.  He maintains that he did everything right, but I--and the city--disagree.      September 2012 - I filed suit with Small Claims Court and after mediation with an arbitrator settled for $2,000.
