Select Basement Waterproofing Inc
Recent Review: These guys were awesome.  Had twelve guys in our basement who worked quickly and cleanly.  Each one knew their job and together, they were a machine.  What would have taken me months by myself, was knocked out in two days.  They were actually so good - that they stopped the rain!  That's the reason for my delayed review.  Just wanted to be sure that this wasn't too good to be true!  So with yesterday and today's rain, we've got two sump pumps working smoothly and a dry basement.  Good thing.  Flooring comes next week! Jason, Dillon, Tommy - well done!

DryZone LLC
Recent Review: The installation went well. Big issue was the lack of urgency on the part of DryZone to come and do the work. The quickest they could do the job was 2 months out. This is a new home build and we were very concerned that water would breach the below level entry before they got out. They are very non-emotional about their scheduling, that is is and it is what it is. They try to spin this by saying that they only have full time employees and that is why they are so booked. This isn't rocket science. They should consider fixing the lack of response to their customer as this significantly effected how we viewed the overall value of their service. We felt like we were playing "Russian roulette" every time it rained and we help up other work that needed to get done under the house this this could get done. Overall no empathy or options offered. They do however offer to call at a moments notice to come out, if they have an opening for some reason.  Of course this is for their convenience and filling their schedule....the whole process was phony. They also were the only group in the area that I could find that installed the TURTL product. I also feel they charged too much for what was basically non-skilled work. I was happy with the final work and would use they for future work due to the products they carry that others don't have. Love hate relationship.

B-Dry Waterproofing & Foundation Repair
Recent Review: They were the most expensive of the companies I looked up but liked their approach to the issue. They did the job in one day. It seems to be working since I have not had any more water in the basement. I had a problem getting a copy of the owner’s manual for the sump pump but ended up getting that after two calls. They also cleaned up after themselves.

Recent Review: They did the entire basement (complete perimeter "french drain", 2 sump pumps, etc). Al and his crew were phenomenal. Professional, clean (which is something for this type of work), and responsible. His crew came to work, knocking out everything in less than 2 days. I like to do things correctly and only once. While he was not the cheapest, his name says it all - it was done the RIGHT WAY. His services were second to none including the expert advice. The only company I will ever use and he is the only establishment you should consider.

TBS Basement Waterproofing
Recent Review: From the moment we met with Joe, one of the owners, we knew the experience with TBS was going to be a pleasant one. Joe walked thoroughly, inside and out, and looked at and assessed virtually everything that could have been causing our water and mold issues. When the multiple problem areas were discovered and brought to light, we all sat down and discussed possible solutions. Joe told us exactly what would be done and how, how many workers would be there, how long it would be, the noise levels, etc. No stone was left unturned, and we were comfortable with Joe and with TBS from the moment we contacted them. The office staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable, not just some answering service trying to get off the phone as soon as possible. After determining we needed a full drainage system to relive water pressure and trap water into the system before it entered the home, we decided to go ahead with the project, as we also had lots of dark and grey mold growing down there, and the source needed to be fixed before the mold could be professionally remediated. Joe and his workers came in, and worked nonstop from start to finish, everyday. The end result was a beautifully waterproofed basement with NO mold!! They also took the time to put down some extra layers of cement on my floor and walls to make it even and look nicer, without it ever being discussed or mentioned. Above and beyond is an understatement. Clean, intelligent, and very polite workers!! It's about 1 year later, and multiple rain and snow storms later, and my basement is dry as can be, with no signs of mold or any kind of pungent odor. If you need waterproofing and mold work done, TBS is the place to be,. They won't try and sell you something you don't need, and from what I see, all their employees are very honest and helpful in all cases. We will be contacting TBS to finish our waterproofed basement sometime in the summer of 2014. Thanks a million, Joe!!!

ASelect Basement Waterproofing Inc
I really didn't use Select Basement Waterproofing Inc. I just had the guy come in and he made suggestions. He was very good. What happened was, I had someone else in the business and he drew holes in the basement to release the water down into the french drain. So, when Select Basement came in, he said that was a good idea and that I should put this barrier or something around it, so that the holes are covered and it drains into the french drain, instead of going on the floor or something past it. He made a suggestion about outside. The gutter came down underneath the deck and he said he would angle it a different way, because the water was coming around the corner there and that's where it was seeping in. That's what his suggestions were. He was very good. He was on time. There were no problems. I would have used him, but I was selling the house and the realtor took care of all the repairs for me. He was very knowledgeable.

FMid-Atlantic Waterproofing
Our home has one vertical crack that extends floor to ceiling of the basement wall.  Along with other contractors, I called Mid-Atlantic asking for a description of their services as I had previously decided I wanted this crack sealed from the outside, keeping water out of the home.  I had to press to find out an average repair price and was told in the $10,000 range.  That was far beyond what was being quoted by other local contractors.  A subsequent phone call brought a Mid-Atlantic estimator to our home, where he met with my son, as we were then out of town.  The written repair estimate was for $25,000.00 given after asking personal questions. The service being sold was to install an interior drain system inside the home, instead of fixing the crack from the outside.  Clearly I did not want water to enter the home to be drained away, but wanted the crack repaired by waterproofing the exterior wall.  I now have three bids to complete this work, none of which exceeds $1,800.  Do your research on the Web and U-Tube for possible solutions before you call Mid-Atlantic.  Have a firm understanding of what services you expect.  Google Mid-Atlantic on the Web and find many additional instances on their poor sales and performance record. -Update- A very polite and concerned representative from Mid Atlantic called after reading my Angie's List report.  I was very impressed as we visited for a half hour.  The conversation was very respectful, as he was trying to get details of what happened.  I would give this gentleman an A+ for doing his research, and trying to get to the bottom of what went wrong with the home visit and estimate.  After visiting with this representive, I believe my experience may not be typical.
