Contracted with Gasper in February 2012, with promise of completion, from John Schweizer (salesman and "designer") June 2012. Did not coordinate info. and/or successfully apply for permits, despite claims of previous experience, causing delay of one year (did not even meet this later deadline). John Schweizer then denied promise of completion date, and was full of excuses and blame on others, including customer. This company has wasted countless hours of customer's time in regard to identifying and locating material, correcting install (appliances) and design (cabinets, fireplace, flooring, paint...), up charging for appliances that were never approved by owner (then tried to charge for re-stock fee!!!); installing home-depot bath and kitchen fixtures after charging for premium Kohler (only corrected by customer). Stucco applied by same laborers who dig ditches, and had to be corrected, WITH A FIGHT, Up-charges abound ($55,000.00 plus) due to John Schweizer's inexperience in this level of design construction . John Schweizer refused to correct walkway design (he forgot to add power source) until contract paid in full (hired another contractor, completed in a week). Gasper subcontractors broke lock on door, and Gasper instructed subs to enter/exit through unlocked window. The list of mistakes and incompetence and delays and blame and excuses would continue forever. Written communications and photos are available. Calls and written communications to management have never once been responded to. DO NOT HIRE. UPDATE 7/2015: Travertine walkway stone is loose and broken with at least fifty stones falling out. This is an injury/liability hazard. Weeds growing thru all joints. Loose, cracked and broken stone everywhere. This was a quality issue at install that Gasper promised was corrected. Clearly it was not. I have been lax with an update, as this re-occurred immediately. Additionally, the walkway is un-level which has caused a leak into basement of main residence. Every disturbed area re seeded by Gasper is full of weeds. I addressed this problem at time of install as well, as NO grass, only weeds were evident. I was told by Jeff Carr (supervisor/vice president?) that I should hire a company to spray the lawn to correct. The lawn has been treated religiously for eighteen years, yet only the areas disturbed/re-seeded by Gasper are an issue due to Gasper's poor application and/or contaminated seed. This is a time consuming headache and eyesore. The paint job in the poolhouse is a complete failure, despite attempts to correct. John Schweizer (designer) stated immediately upon "completion" that no "warranty work" will be done until I pay for a french drain that he claims existed, (which clearly did not) until I paid another company to install. I have photos of Gasper's completed (AND FLOODED) project to share. I read Gasper's response attempting to claim that "client changes" caused the issues with this project. This is patently untrue. Any and all issues reported here were due to the inexperience and ineptitude of Gasper and it's agents. BEWARE. This company might be a fine outlet to buy a plant or planter, but is clearly not qualified for any large scale type project.
