Recent Review: The crew performed the work over three days. This included installing sump pumps, French drains, vapor barrier, and spray foam. They also installed a vent and routed a down spout into the yard. The crawl space under my house is no longer flooding and doesn't smell musty anymore. Whenever it rains I can hear the sump pumps doing their job making me feel better that the water is being managed properly. I would highly recommend value dry to anyone needing any kind of flooding issues.

Recent Review: The person who responded and showed up was very courteous and professional.  He walked me through how there was nothing we needed to be concerned about with regard to the foundation cracks that we have and suggested some ways to make them more visually appealing.  I was pleased that there was no attempt to sell me anything related to the cracks and that the inspector made an honest assessment of how nothing needed to be done. The inspector also provided me with an estimate for sealing our crawlspace with a product called "clean space".  I didn't request this product and it was a bit of a sales pitch - including a canned video demonstrating the product.  However, the estimate was reasonable if it was something I was interested in doing, and I would definitely call this company if we ever decided that we needed the crawl space encapsulated (to reduce mold, moisture and make it a clean storage space).  The inspector also encouraged us to purchase a dehumidifier to help address some of the humidity issues in our basement / crawlspace.  We did that and it has made a marked improvement in the comfort of our (finished) basement and attached storage area.   Overall I was very happy with the service, just wish the inspector had dialed down the sales pitch a little for the crawl space encapsulation system.  But I understand that these discounted inspections (I purchased the inspection as a "big deal" on angie's list) are a way to get in the door and provide an opportunity to introduce potential customers to their range of products.

Recent Review: Chuck arrived at my house and spent a good deal of time inspecting my crawl space. He then provided a clear explanation of the services they offer and the possible options I could go with. I did not feel pressured; I just felt that I was talking to a person who in a professional manner was trying to state the best case he could for his product. That's what salespeople do. One of the things that attracted me to Mid-Atlantic was the array of solutions they had for fixing water problems. I have had bad experiences with other waterproofers who bascially look at your basement for ten seconds then give you the "hard sell" for the only product they offer - a sump pump or a French drain - regardless of what you really need. In fact, up until recently I've had a very dim view of basement waterproofing companies in general - too aggressive and not trustworthy. This is what kept me from fixing my water problem two years ago, but I figured I'd try again. I've had Mid-Atlantic come out twice, once two years ago and once recently, and both times I was pleased with their professionalism. Two years ago they were the only company I had any respect for of the ones I called. I've read some of the other posts by members on Mid-Atlantic and yes, they tell you that "a crew is available from a canceled job and if you sign up now we can give you a cheaper price" and then you get the "a chief inspector wants to come out" call after the first visit. Despite that, I never received the impression that they were untrustworthy or did not provide a good service, just that they have a certain approach to the way they sell. If you work within their approach you can actually negotiate a pretty good price. I felt like I got a pretty good final price for the solutions they offer (several thousand dollars off the original price), which are more comprehensive than other waterproofers. In the end, I did choose another company who I called for the first time this year, but I came really close to choosing Mid-Atlantic. I wouldn't rule Mid-Atlantic out when shopping for a waterproofing solution, despite their current rating on Angie's List. When I read the actual reviews, I found that anyone who actually used their services gave them high ratings, but those who gave poor ratings did not give them work but were mostly put off by their sales technique. From my own research into this type of service, it really does seem that they have a quality product, although in the end I went with a solution I felt was more suitable for my needs.

Recent Review: It was wonderful. We were having some mold issues - smelly towels, mold in the shower, etc. We'd spent some money here and there trying to fix the problem. Eventually, I got 4 or 5 bids which ranged in price by thousands. I was so depressed by the prices I was getting & the different fixes recommended. I called a contractor in the area & he told me that it was now code in DE to seal off crawlspace & well worth the money. He gave me the name of this company. They were less than half the price for the encapsulation compared to other estimates & the mold remediation was very reasonable. In three days they sealed off the crawl space. Our mold has stopped in the shower, the towels don't smell. We were so thrilled that we did the same thing in a rental property, which took a little more work because of free standing water. They didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. Other companies wanted to sell us big dehumidifiers that we didn't need and are very expensive to run. They were just excellent! The owner is well known for this type of work & is very easy to work with. He answered all my questions & told me that if I had any issues to let him know & he'd do what he could to help. He's been very responsive.

Recent Review: It was amazing. From start to finish the job was perfect. We called DryZone to get a free inspection of our crawl space. We knew there had been some moisture under our home but never knew the extent of the damage. We had rarely ever gone down there. Amazing service started with our first phone call. We spoke with Amber - she was so kind and answered all of our questions. She even followed back up with us to make sure that we remembered our appointment. Lucky she did because I had totally forgot and needed to reschedule! Before the inspection we were sent information about the products and crawl spaces. it was very interesting and informative.  Derek came to the house and went into the crawl space. He was so friendly and funny. We felt so good having him in and around our home. After the inspection he was able to show us pictures of the crawl space, so we didn't have to get down there with him. He even showed us a video of our floor joist that were falling apart. We were able to see the mold and the wood rot. He explained that the mold is from the moisture and that air could be coming up into our home. My husband has had some serious allergy issues and now we know why. The mold under our home was invading our air in our home.  He gave us suggestions on what we can do. We never felt pressured to do anything. We were able to talk about the options and what we wanted to do. We checked with a few other companies in the area, but none of them could provide us with the information that DryZone gave us. We felt comfortable going with them because they sounded knowledgeable and experienced. We got back in touch with Derek a few days later and decided to go through with the encapsulation.  When the crew arrived, Mario greeted us with a smile and just like with the initial inspection, we felt great having these guys around our home. They cleaned our the old debris, installed the insulation, and the clean lining. After the work was complete they showed us pictures of the crawl space. It was BEAUTIFUL! I couldn't believe that it could look that amazing.  In October, we had a Nor'easter that caused flooding to our area and came right up to the house. After the storm I sent my husband down to the crawl space to check on things. To my disbelief it was completely dry. I couldn't believe it. This is what solidified it for me. This company promised me my crawl space would be dry and that is what they delivered. They saved my home. I am so thankful we spent the money and took care of our home. I am so happy.

It went just great for the first couple of years. They were personable and caring. We recommended them to friends and neighbors and paid for a maintenance agreement. Then things went really bad. There was a storm which caused flooding and they refused to help us. Told us that it would be a couple of weeks before they could pump out the very deep water underneath. No assessment was done, just "sorry, can't do it". We hired someone else to help us pump out the water. Several days after we'd had the water pumped out, they did send someone over to look under the house. Move forward several months, we had our home lifted (because of the flooding) and an addition put on. They gave our contractor a bid of $14,000 to re-do our crawl space!! The area is not that large, (around 1500 sq feet)!!! Our contractor asked them to salvage some of the equipment prior to lifting the house so we could save some money. He reported to us that their response was it wasn't worth their time. We won't do business with them again.

This company installed the original system 5 years ago. Since then we have complained of damp odors. This company has either passed the buck on cause or recommended costly solutions.

My house was flooded by super storm Jonas.  I was distressed and did not know what to do.  Naturally, I needed to get the wet stuff out and dry the house ASAP.  I went online and contacted a franchise remediation firm.  However, when I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and Angie's List they had no information or ratings, that was concerning.  That's when I found MJ Home Services.  Their BBB rating and Angie's List reviews were excellent.  I decided to contact Melissa at MJ Home Services.  Melissa, the owner, sent Mike out to assess the damage.  Mike was on time and very personable.  After my meeting with Mike I was contacted by John, the owner, and he educated me on the process to remediate a flood damaged home.  At no time did I feel like I was being 'sold.'  MJ Home Services was extremely professional, responsive and courteous throughout. This was a really big job.  Brian and a crew of five spent an entire day removing all the wet contents from my home.  Brian and Melissa provided pictures of the work and progress throughout the day.  I was in constant contact with Brian and Melissa and felt very comfortable with this large team of people working on my home...did I mention this is my vacation home and I live two hours away?  Upon completion of work Brian and Melissa contacted me to let me know and that they had left commercial grade fans to help speed of the drying process.  The next morning, after work was completed, I drove to my property to take a look.  Mike met me there and walked me through the work that was performed.  He asked if I was satisfied and went on his way.  What impressed me most was the condition of the home after the work was completed.  Remember, the house was a mess due to flooding.  Then I had a crew of five to six guys inside an 1100 sq ft house for a full day and I did not find ANY trash or remnants of debris.  Now, I'm a very picky guy ... and I have worked with many contractors over the years.  What I have found is a clean work site is indicative of a firm who takes pride in their work and cares for their clients. MJ Home Services was professional, responsive, courteous, thorough and communicative from start to finish.  I would highly recommend them and expect I will contact them for future services. Very, very well. Patsy spent at least a day and a half in the TINY crawl space under our house, working with outdated plumbing and wiring which in our view, would make anyone cantankerous, but not him. He was always easy to work with. His work itself is excellent and his communication and response rate the same. We were away while work was done so almost every day we received pictures, texts or vms of the progress he'd made. He knows a lot of contractors in the area and gave us a good referral for our roof leak. All in all, you can't do better than Patsy Cicala, Jr.

Work was completed in just over a day. Clean upped all around under where the insulation was done.(material was cut to fit in our back yard)  The next day a supervisor came out and went in the crawl space and took photos to show us how the work was done. He explained how the indoor unit worked which showed temperature and humidity. They also filed the warranty paperwork for us which we received via e mail the next day. They also said they will do a 30 day inspection. Extremely satisfied with the job and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who needs this type of work done.
