Recent Review: Chuck arrived at my house and spent a good deal of time inspecting my crawl space. He then provided a clear explanation of the services they offer and the possible options I could go with. I did not feel pressured; I just felt that I was talking to a person who in a professional manner was trying to state the best case he could for his product. That's what salespeople do. One of the things that attracted me to Mid-Atlantic was the array of solutions they had for fixing water problems. I have had bad experiences with other waterproofers who bascially look at your basement for ten seconds then give you the "hard sell" for the only product they offer - a sump pump or a French drain - regardless of what you really need. In fact, up until recently I've had a very dim view of basement waterproofing companies in general - too aggressive and not trustworthy. This is what kept me from fixing my water problem two years ago, but I figured I'd try again. I've had Mid-Atlantic come out twice, once two years ago and once recently, and both times I was pleased with their professionalism. Two years ago they were the only company I had any respect for of the ones I called. I've read some of the other posts by members on Mid-Atlantic and yes, they tell you that "a crew is available from a canceled job and if you sign up now we can give you a cheaper price" and then you get the "a chief inspector wants to come out" call after the first visit. Despite that, I never received the impression that they were untrustworthy or did not provide a good service, just that they have a certain approach to the way they sell. If you work within their approach you can actually negotiate a pretty good price. I felt like I got a pretty good final price for the solutions they offer (several thousand dollars off the original price), which are more comprehensive than other waterproofers. In the end, I did choose another company who I called for the first time this year, but I came really close to choosing Mid-Atlantic. I wouldn't rule Mid-Atlantic out when shopping for a waterproofing solution, despite their current rating on Angie's List. When I read the actual reviews, I found that anyone who actually used their services gave them high ratings, but those who gave poor ratings did not give them work but were mostly put off by their sales technique. From my own research into this type of service, it really does seem that they have a quality product, although in the end I went with a solution I felt was more suitable for my needs.
Recent Review: We had this system installed years ago (after another company failed to solve our water problem in crawl space). It’s been working great ever since. The technician who recently inspected was professional polite and very knowledgeable. He took photos on his iPad so he could show me the system was going n fine working order. He even answeeed questions I had about our radon system.
Recent Review: Clay Ridings from Preferred Home Inspections was referred to me by a colleague at work. I was able to contact him directly and had an appointment setup within a week. Clay was amazingly thorough. He inspected all aspects of the home, interior and exterior. His report was very comprehensive (about 25 pages for a 3 story Town home) and detailed all the concerns a buyer should be aware of. In our case, this included items as small as an improperly installed dishwasher drain pipe to larger concerns such as missing attic insulation and staining on the stucco exterior. He made recommendations to have the stucco further inspected and we did. Turns out that the building is in very good shape but there was one area that was damaged and needed repair. I was able to secure funding from the current home owner for that repair based on the work that Clay started with his inspection report. He did a fantastic job for us and I would not hesitate to use his services again in the future.

Recent Review: I was purchasing a home in Cochranville, PA and we hired Housemasters to do the inspection. John did a great job and was extremely knowledgeable. Very professional and provided us with a very detailed Inspection Report. Would highly recommend!
Recent Review: Tim performed a very thorough home inspection on a house we are in the process of purchasing. He explained everything and answered all of our questions along the way. He also provided a detailed inspection report with pictures in a timely matter. Thanks to his inspection, we were able to amend our offer and save thousands of dollars. I contacted multiple inspectors and his price was competitive. We would definitely recommend him to anyone and would use him in the future!
Recent Review: I actually have use JFM Inspections twice I appreciated them so much. The first was in the spring when I had an offer in on a short sale. Mike came and did a thorough inspection of the vacant home and told me what issues to bear aware of. He also was able to answer all my questions. He was able to provide a cost range for possible repairs which was helpful. This short sale fell through and I found another property and once again called on Mike. As before he provided a detailed, and comprehensive report. He is extremely thorough and provides a text report and a version with photos that show the areas of concern. Having the report has been extremely helpful as I make repairs to the new home. He has answered my questions even after the inspection. I have been able to prioritize and budget for repairs because of the report. Highly recommend JFM.
Arrived on time, started from the basement, crawl space, then external inspection and then internal inspection. Completed with a computerized report. They take check, and major credit cards.

Tom did an incredible job inspecting every nook and cranny of the house and explaining to me everything he was noting along the way. He even got into a crawl space through our basement wall that didn't even look like it was big enough to fit a person through. Overall, I was very satisfied with the inspection and would use Tom again in a heartbeat.

We had a home inspection with Dave Keintz as the inspector. He was early for our appointment. He went above and beyond our expectations. Not only did he physically inspect the house from boots on attic to all fours in the crawl space! He explained everything to me worth knowing in a way I understood. he also gave great advice for future maintenance on the house. as well as referred me to check the county and state laws to better understand whats expected. Mr. Keintz's knowledge, motivation, and diligence separate the company from others. thank you.

From the call scheduling, to the email confirmation, to on site Preferred Property Inspections was outstanding! Tom took his time, was super informative, and went above and beyond. He knew what he was talking about, what was wrong, how to fix it and how to maintain it in the future. He did not talk above your head he put everything into terms that everyone would be able to understand. Tom went over the house from crawl space to basement to roof and everywhere in between. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The only thing better would be Tom building your actual house!

Very well. Tom was our inspector and he explained EVERYTHING in great detail. He encouraged me to join him in the attic, crawl space, and on the roof, so that he could show me everything there was to see and explain everything (but obviously this wasn't mandatory). He answered all questions and gave great recommendations on how to fix minor issues and improve energy efficiency. He knew everything from plumbing to electrical to structural, appliances, heating and air conditioning, etc.

Ron did the inspection for the buyer of my previous home and he caught a lot of things my own inspector had missed a couple years earlier. That's why I used him for my recent home purchase. The guy examined every inch of the house, even donning coveralls to inspect the dirt-floored crawl space and carefully prying off a nailed-in cover panel and then replacing it. His inspection offered excellent information and cost estimates for all repairs. My realtor was amazed at how long the inspection took, but I'm glad I had someone who would take the time.

Neil was really nice and arrived early. He walked us through the entire house. He was with us for 2+ hours. By the end, we did some rushing through the outside of the house. Neil was very knowledgable. He did miss a few things though--the biggest one being that the floor ducts were not real returns, but merely holes into the crawl space. He also missed that there was no corner gutter or downspout, but by the time we got outside it was getting late.

Ttim was on time, professional an thorough!. He did find a small infestation and damage in the front door sill in the crawl space. He inspected for damage and gave not only a recommendation but also an estimate of how much it would cost to remediate the problem. As well as treating the whole house in case there were termites else where. All very reasonable prices.
