Reviews in Delaware City to Remodel Small Bathroom

AAmerican Craftsmen LLC
I chose American Craftsman to completely remodel my main upstairs bathroom. I also had them repair a piece of the downstairs ceiling that had been damaged from a leak in the bathroom. And I had them replace a toilet in a second bathroom. The entire experience was fabulous. First, other estimates I received required me to buy the components for the bathroom at places where the companies would then make money off of my purchases. American Craftsman sets up the process differently. I chose and bought each of the components – such as the tile, cabinets, sink, toilet, and faucets. I also selected the paint color. Kenny from American Craftsman guided me through the selection and purchasing process. Kenny also gave me his discount on the tile, took the time to show me how to use discount websites for the other components, and then took delivery on the parts and held them until they were installed. Second, the installation process was terrific. The crew of American Craftsman is professional, friendly, and respectful. They laid down protective sheeting all the way through the house and up the stairs every work day. They cleaned up every night and again when the whole bathroom was completed. I have a dog that they not only didn’t mind, but actually took care of while I was at work. American Craftsman does not subcontract out their work. Each section was completed by an American Craftsman expert in that area such as tile or carpentry. And a terrific employee named James worked at the house every day and told me each evening what would be occurring the following day. Third, the final product is stunning. Absolutely beautiful. I also want to mention that my bathroom was remodeled in August, 2017 and I’m writing this review in late April, 2018. My point is that I still love the bathroom remodel after using it for eight months. That’s important because I’m not going off of first impressions. The bathroom has been used by a lot of people, the bathroom has been cleaned, and I still love the remodel. I highly recommend American Craftsman for bathroom remodeling. I believe in this company so strongly that I would them again myself.

AFirst State Home & Garden, LLC
Brian from First State was a true professional from start to finish! He assessed our project, made recommendations, and provided a detailed estimate of work to be something that other contractors did not. He was clean and prompt and professional throughout. The results exceeded our expectations! Everyone who has seen our bathroom is in love with it. I would hire First State again for my next project!

First I will say that I have not called to schedule with the firm; however, they reached out to me in November, and when I emailed back I never got a response.     In December another person emailed me, and I responded inquiring about setting up a specific day, and again they never replied.   I'm not in a big hurry to get this done, so I haven't called them in person to discuss, but still if you send an email asking to schedule a visit and someone replies, they should followup....

ALegacy Construction Company LLC
Bathroom is beautiful. Due to unexpected circumstance the company was short staffed which impacted on prompt arrivals as scheduled. It is recommended that each job has some level of unexpected work that may be needed once the demolition is on its way,and clear communication regarding any change in blling should be discussed, agreed and documented as company gets focused on ensuring all glitches are handled on the spot. Company is very committed to ensure all problems are addressed immediately. They were even willing to come on days that were not normal work days to address unexpected situations . Very responsive to emails and call. Very personable and mindful of organization and cleanliness regarding work space

Excellent. Dan was courteous, excellent craftsmanship and willing to accommodate last minute requests. From the very beginning, dan and his group offered good advice, and worked with us towards the successful completion of the project. We will definitely consider additional projects with the company

Joe does excellent work. He is there everyday until the job is complete. Joe's pricing is very fair and I would highly recommend using him.

CRay DiFrancesco Home Improvements
Project did not go well. Ray was more interested in collecting his money than doing a quality job. He really struggles with work details and the finishing aspects of a project. 'Quick and dirty' could be his motto. Ray took every shortcut available to him which is not the kind of contractor that I like to work with. Tiling and painting are not his forte as these aspects had to be reworked before the job was minimally acceptable. He also scratched/gouged my brand new tub that he installed and he never mentioned the problem. In fact, he wanted me to make final payment before I could even see the completed job, which I found very odd; perhaps he did not want me to find the damaged tub. You may want to consider Ray for general handy-man type work that does not include finish details, but I would not recommend him for any job where you want a nice finished product that you can be proud of. We were just glad to get the job done and Ray out of our house. A most unsatisfying experience! Below is an update to my original review of 10/13/2017... Less than 6 months after my job was completed my towel bar has fallen off the wall and toilet paper holder is loose which further speaks to the quality of work by Ray DiFrancesco. I have no Idea what Ray is referencing regarding "personal issues" but perhaps Ray has me confused with one of his other unsatisfied customers. Even mentioning such a thing as 'personal issues' on a public website speaks to the poor character of Mr. DiFrancesco. I have had work done by other contractors that was just outstanding, so I guess so much for 'being impossible to please'. And regarding Ray's refusal to acknowledge him damaging my tub, the tub was brand new, delivered in an enclosed box from a very reputable company, and handed over to Ray for installation. The end result was a gouge in a brand new tub. You can decide who damaged the tub, but after seeing Ray's sloppy work practices I'm pretty sure who damaged the tub. Mr. DiFrancesco mentions his positive reviews on this website. To be honest, I just can't understand the many positive reviews. My experience was just awful and I was never COMPLETELY satisfied, we just wanted Ray done and gone so we could move on with our lives. Maybe Mr. DiFrancesco was having a really bad stretch in his life and I just happened to be one of the few who had a very poor experience with him, but my described experience is 'REAL AND ACCURATE' and my advice is to steer clear of this contractor so that you do not end up with similar negative result.

Choosing a contractor is a difficult process. You?re never sure how it will turn out unless you?ve had experience with them before. I can say, without hesitation that Claude and his crew are master craftsmen, and take great care to make sure that everything is correct and to your liking. They are easy to work with and conscientious. Highly recommended! For us, they completely gutted our 7? x 14? master bathroom on the top floor (and reinsulated the attic when we opened the ceiling and saw that the insulation was 60 years old and had about R-9 insulation in it), sistered up some floor joists that they found were weak, redid some of the plumbing to accommodate the new shower and sinks, sooundproofed the wall abutting the bedroom, rewired for new lighting and radiant heating for the floors, sheetrocked and painted the walls, laid a limestone floor, put in a Schluter system shower with bench seat and then finished it with honey onyx stone tiles on the walls, bench seat and niche and pebble stones on the floor, and installed and modified custom bamboo cabinets and all plumbing and lighting fixtures ,medicine cabinets, and a makeup mirror.
