Recent Review: I met Wes on Angies list last year, so I'm a happy repeat customer, and I will call him again. This time I had some challenging upper kitchen cabenets that I started to do myself, and set up the first corner cabinet and said self, you'd better call Wes, (my 1920 house predates thstraight lines). They came out beautiful! Call Amy and Wes, you'll be happier than you expected to be.

His work is meticulous. I continue to call him for other projects around the cottage. Peter is trustworthy and honest. I would 1000% recommend his services.

Recent Review: All service from start to finish was performed exactly as specified and according to schedule.  All interactions  the provider were extremely professional.  My wife visited the contractor about 3 times and worked with him to plan the installation, select the type of cabinets, select the door handles and associated hardware.  Everything was done exactly as advertised;  problems were encountered with the new range hood installation.  The contractor solved the problems and mad everything "right" for the customer.  The project definitely exceeded all our expectations.

Recent Review: This was a complete kitchen remodel which involved changing the layout of half of the downstairs of the house.  Two bearing walls were removed, a bathroom was moved, and a new kitchen was installed with a completely new layout.  This was scheduled to be a two month project with a $30,000 quote for labor and materials (not including the cost of the kitchen cabinets, countertops or new hardwood floor in kitchen).  This ended out being a two month project that came in on budget with no surprises!  There were small surprises along the way, of course, once we started opening up walls but they were resolved quickly with no additional cost or delay to the project.  The job site was cleaned up neatly every night, which was very important to me as living with no kitchen from mid-Februray through mid-April was NOT easy with 4 kids.   Ted (the owner) also noticed mistakes that some of my subcontractors made (example - the hardwood floor guy was hired by me via my kitchen cabinet company) that could have compromised the quality of the floor being installed, and he pointed out their errors and also told me about them so I could insure that those errors were corrected.  I would have never known there was a problem until the floors started expanding and buckling in summer heat and humidity.   We were on a fairly strict timeline with this project as we needed to be ready to have the floors installed and finished while we were on vacation so we didn't need to kennel dogs and rent a hotel room again just for the floor to be completed, and he was done with days to spare before the floor guy came.  In fact, Ted was hounding them to get there sooner to make sure everything was completely done before we returned.   We were having problems finding a cabinet that would work in the new powder room, and Ted ended out making a custom cabinet to fit in there at my request.  It's perfect for that tiny bathroom and you can tell it's not a Home Depot cabinet for sure! It's beautiful! The kitchen is flawless and the attention to detail made all the difference in the world.  I can't say enough good things about Ted and Alta Custom Carpentry.  I would hire him for all my future projects, and I actually did hire him for some small jobs after the kitchen remodel was done.

It took almost a year to complete the service. They kept sending workers over that didn't know how to complete the service and then sent other workers that had to repair what the worker that didn't know what to do. The company is too big and they don't know what they are doing.

I found Wes on Angie's list and gave him a very difficult cabinet leveling job and he burned through it like a hot knife through butter. The cabinets formed a 6-foot L shape, and was 1 3/4 inches off level over the worst run...that's a lot. The first thing he did was turn two problems into an advantage... Rather than having the end of the countertop way up in the air and the other run of the L up blocking the bottom of a window, he suggested scribing and cutting the cabinets down (instead of shimming up as normally done), to instead lower the high point which also brought the countertop nicely below the window. Two problems solved by thinking outside of the box; it never would have occurred to me, now would I have been capable of doing it. Wes scribed with a compass and took a skillsaw to the bottom of the cabinets, even the complexly shaped corner cabinet of the L...and dropped the cabinets in and each was within a tenth of a millimeter on his first try...amazing talent. Just hire Wes, you will be so glad you found him.

ASTRESS FREE SOLUTIONS HOME IMPROVEMENTS
We were overwhelmed when we saw the damage. I knew the good work that Mile and his crew did from a previous job he had done for us so I felt we were in good hands. Mike was fabulous right from the start. He had a plan to make everything as good as new. We were in constant contact and Mike dealt effectively with the subcontractors, the insurance company, Service pro, the plumber etc. Some problems that were discovered from the original construction of the home were fixed and everything brought up the code. Every mindful of budget he always checked with us on any additional improvement and guided use through a confusing maze of choices always advising us for the choices that would suit us. We now have a completely refurbished house. It has never looked this good, The kitchen is brighter and more functional than before, the floors beautiful. We are so grateful for Mike's experience, expertise and professionalism. Thank you Mike, David, Brian and everyone else who helped restore our house.

FMorrell Cabinets
Morell Cabinets of Bristol, CT. was contracted by our general contractor, PHI Construction, to make and install new kitchen cabinets as part of an entire home rennovation project. From the outset, Morell performed shoddy, unprofessional work. Initial installation of its cabinets was performed haphazardly and incompletely. Nail holes, uneven edges and doors and other finishing issues were numerous. Morell had to return several times with new, rebuilt portions of its work. This caused serious delay to our project. Fast forward to March, 2013. The cabinet doors beneath our sink are coming apart. Paint is peeling and glueMy d joints are coming apart. My wife and I have placed no fewer than 15 calls to Morell Cabinets, leaving voice messages. Only ONE call was returned some two weeks ago. The owner promised to call us within a few days to set a date for coming to our home to remove the faulty cabinet doors for repair. He has, as of this writing, FAILED to call back. We have placed at least TEN more calls to Morrell. NONE has been returned. Morrell Cabinets is a shoddy, unprofessional and deceptive company. We urge anyone considering doing business with this company NOT TO!
