Recent Review: He did a phenomenal job and his work exceeded our expectations. If you have a bathtub that is a weird color (ours was green) or dated countertops,I highly recommend using this company to resurface them. It's cheaper and faster than replacing them, and the quality is excelled. I keep getting compliments on how nice our countertops look. No one seems to ask or care whether its real granite or not. It looks updated and that's all that matters to us! We couldn't be more pleased.

Recent Review: The two men who installed the kitchen were excellent. Mario is a perfectionist and an excellent tradesman! As in any new/remodeling job there were some glitches, but all were handled with excellent customer service by owner, Wayne. Would highly recommend!

Recent Review: It took a lot of phone tag to finally get the technician to our house, but once here he was efficient and professional and did an amazing job. The chip was in the edge of a white quartz countertop, very difficult to match perfectly, and the repair is absolutely invisible. Not the lowest bid, but worth the price.

Recent Review: We reached Jose, the owner, through a contractor we have worked with before.  He gave us some samples to look at and directed us to others on the web.  We liked one of the samples and called him for an estimate. He came over and measured and gave us an itemized estimate in a couple of days.  We agreed to do the work.  He came by to do more detailed measurements and to get our choice for how we wanted the edges ground.  He gave us a date that he would have all the stone cut to size.  He arranged with my contractor to remove the old countertops and the plumber to hook up the new sink.  He instructed me on who would charge what, and that I should buy a new faucet, and what brands to choose.  So, the project involved three contractors, but they all worked together, arrived when they were needed, and did a good job. We have a reverse osmosis tank and faucet under our sink, and they hooked it up with no problem.  The countertops look great.  They anchored the dishwasher with screws under the countertops, so it's stable and there are no braces showing.  A lot of installers don't get this right, but we were happy with this. I would use this company again any time.  We are very happy with the work and the price.  Jose was a pleasure to deal with and clearly was focused on making sure the work was done right and we got what we wanted.

Recent Review: Very professional company.  Excellent customer service and a beautiful finished product.  We had a lot of custom work with our main kitchen countertop which involved a granite shelf for a box window above the sink and the result was flawless.  We also had to cut the granite for a gas stove insert on the island and that was also exact.  I would totally recommend them without hesitation.

We left it to Steve to pick out a mid-range price door, and he got us a beautiful one.  Installed the door, and demolished the shed, no problem!  We actually have Steve and his team scheduled to do MULTIPLE other jobs around the house, from replacing windows, sinks and countertops, to expanding the kitchen.  This was just the first job of many, and we were VERY pleased with the quality.

AAcademy Marble & Granite, LLC
Overall, the process of installing my granite countertops went quite well.  Since the granite my wife and I selected had large patterns, the owner spent over an hour with my wife determining how the granite would be cut to optimize appearance when entering the kitchen and how to minimize pattern variations at the two joints.  Joints were necessary because in two cases the required granite length exceeded the length of the granite stock. Even the back splashes were cut to provide pattern continuity. The installation went smoothly and the workers were very professional and neat.   Before selecting Academy Marble and Granite we solicited quotes from half a dozen suppliers in the Danbury, CT area.  These suppliers had an on site inventory of granite from which to choose so their quotes included the actual cost of the material we selected.  Academy was the lowest quote.  I supplied a drawing of the areas where the granite was to go.  Surprisingly, one supplier determined an area that was ten percent larger than any other supplier or my drawings (at $70 per sq ft).  Another supplier quoted a very low per square foot price for the granite but priced creating templates and other items separately.  For all the other suppliers the price per square foot included everything.  I would recommend Academy Marble and Granite to anyone without hesitation.

AE & C Construction Co Inc
This was actually E&C's third project with us. The first was a deck around out new above-ground pool. The second was an addition including an added bedroom and office space on the top floor of our split-level. With these two projects E&C displayed professionalism and punctuality as well as craftsmanship and timely work, which made hiring them for our third and biggest project an easy decision. Although their estimate for the project was not the lowest, we found the price reasonable and we were familiar enough with their work to know they would do an excellent job. They worked closely with the interior designer we hired, and managed to overcome several challenges that a 30-year-old house can bring, including uneven floors and walls. Each week, Rich and his team showed up at the time they were supposed to be there and promptly began work. Not only do they perform excellent work but they thoroughly clean up after themselves. After all was said and done we had a beautiful new kitchen which added tremendous value to our house, hundreds more square feet of space, and a huge brand-new deck perfect for outdoor entertaining. We were and are more than satisfied with our choice of E&C!

AWoodland Building & Remodeling LLC
We started out by meeting with four contractors (two from Angie's list and two from family recommendations) for estimates. Leo from Woodland was, by far, the most personable and reasonable of the four. He was the only contractor who listened to what we wanted and told us what would work within our budget. Instead of blindly agreeing with everything we said, he made suggestions based on his extensive knowledge and experience, providing us with options we hadn't considered before. He even gave us the opportunity to cut down on costs by doing some of our own demolition and by purchasing some of our materials on our own. When designing our kitchen remodel, Leo even came down to the store with us to give us advice and to explain some of the features being offered. He doesn't skimp when it comes to quality materials or quality work. Our remodel ended up being a lot more work than originally anticipated, but Leo called us right away and explained what needed to be done and why. In our bathroom, because of the tub we chose to install, Leo and his team had to remove and replace all of the plumbing in the column. After removing all the Sheetrock and insulation, we found mold in the framing, so one of our bathroom walls needed to be entirely reframed as well. The bathroom renovation included moving plumbing for sink, tub, and toilet, installing a window in the shower, tiling the shower, installing tub, toilet and pedestal sink with extremely tight plumbing, replacing ceiling light and fan, installing a medicine cabinet with mirror, and installing all fixtures including lights, towel bars, grab bar, faucets and knobs, and shower rod. Leo took a moldy, poorly designed bathroom and transformed it into a sleek, clean, and elegant bathroom which properly utilizes the limited space. When it came to the kitchen, Leo pulled up a pretty nasty subfloor and set beautiful hardwood flooring down, seamlessly blending it existing hardwood flooring throughout the house. He and his team installed our kitchen cabinets very skillfully, even with our substantially uneven walls and floors. He moved a window to accommodate our cabinet choices, installed recessed lighting with a dimmer switch, installed a skylight to add more natural light, resized a gigantic kitchen entryway to accommodate seating, and moved the electrical for our stove and refrigerator to give us a more open and functional kitchen design. He was with us every step of the way, including delivery and installation of our countertop, to make sure everything was done to his high standards. After seeing his work in the kitchen and bathroom, we decided to have him and his team fix up the rest of our house. This included adding access to the attic from the hallway, patching holes in some of our walls, repairing and replacing trim and molding, installing two new baseboard heaters, sanding or replacing baseboard covers, and painting everything from walls to ceilings to trim to baseboard covers. Because of the moving the window in the kitchen, Leo had to replace some outside siding. After some research, he found that the only company to carry this siding was based out of Long Island and that company didn't ship. He took a day and drove out to Long Island to get us the perfect match, even purchasing a little extra for some jobs we had mentioned wanting to do in the future. He made countless trips to the store to pick up things that we forgot to order, always with a smile. Leo and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with. He and his team are kind, thoughtful, hardworking, and extremely professional. They take a great deal of pride in their work and are not satisfied until the customer is thrilled. My husband and I could not be happier with our entire experience with Leo. We will certainly be calling him again for future jobs (or maybe for a beer ?). No worries, no sugar free gummy bears here!
