Recent Review: We had been happy with the service before and decided to call United again. They were very prompt in coming to give us an estimate and set a date for the work to be done. The man who came to assess was friendly and explained everything and came up with a solution to our problems with water in the basement that sounded great. When the date came and the workers started to drill, cement started to fall from the ceiling in the basement. They immediately stopped work. It turned out the there was a portion of the basement ceiling that was not stable. They cleaned everything up, and the owner, Giovanni, got involved right away. He came personally to look at the house, and proposed a slightly different solution which was a little more complicated as the situation was a little different than had been originally assessed. We were very happy with the result and the new work was super promptly done, Giovanni came to oversee it all himself, and it seems great so far (we are waiting for a very heavy rainfall to truly see how it goes, but it looks perfect. It just hasn't been fully tested yet :)) What struck me most of all was the sincere care from Giovanni and the fact that he stood by the original estimate, when the work that was actually done was more complicated and likely cost more for them to complete.

Recent Review: These guys were awesome.  Had twelve guys in our basement who worked quickly and cleanly.  Each one knew their job and together, they were a machine.  What would have taken me months by myself, was knocked out in two days.  They were actually so good - that they stopped the rain!  That's the reason for my delayed review.  Just wanted to be sure that this wasn't too good to be true!  So with yesterday and today's rain, we've got two sump pumps working smoothly and a dry basement.  Good thing.  Flooring comes next week! Jason, Dillon, Tommy - well done!

Quality 1st Basements

Recent Review: When we bought this home, it was a dry period at the end of the summer and our inspection noted water stains on the exposed footing in one of our crawl spaces. He suggested it was a grading issue which we addressed with a landscaping company.   However that didn?t alleviate the puddles forming after heavy rains in the crawl space. I realized we would have to water proof it so that I could get piece of mind. I called in 3 companies, 2 wanted to do French drains inside leading to a sump pump. A method I was familiar with from a prior basement waterproofing. I was very skeptical when Jeff Nero a design consultant for Quality 1st came to explain the encapsulation concept of water control. Jeff got into the space and looked over every area of my concern, coming up with a suggested solution. After answering all of my concerns and questions, Jeff had convinced me this was what i needed for my problem. I would be encapsulating the space with their system AND they would be insulating the entire space to an R11 value. Before water proofing became an issue this insulation was going to be a separate project and done by another company; but was all part of the Quality 1st crawl space system. Not only did I do that space but also did the other crawl space that didn't have water but was in need of insulation and seal up. It was prepared the same as the other area but without a sump pump. If water ever got into that space all we would need is to have them install the pump. 2 spaces handled for less than the cost of one space with French drains. I was AMAZED! The crew showed up on time, prepared the area in the basement for dust protection and went to work on the 2 areas simultaneously. By 4:30 they were finished and wow, did those crawl spaces look clean, bright and well insulated. This encapsulation method has allowed me to open up the crawl spaces to the rest of the basement to allow them to become the same temperatureas the main basement area. The floors above those areas are warmer making the rooms warmer.  Because of this waterproofing method I don?t feel like an obsessed man constantly looking at accumulating water and you know how that feels if you are dealing with water. I?d recommend their system for crawl spaces and am considering their patented basement finishing system too.

Dry-X Waterproofing
Recent Review: The work went quickly and professionally.  The crew was careful to protect our environment and to keep us notified of what they were doing and when to expect noise, etc.  This was especially important as we have  three older dogs and we were able to schedule their water theraphy for the noisiest day. There was an additional problem discovered with plumbing into the basement.  A pipe from the street to the water meter had to be replaced by another contractor.  The Basement Guys were unable to waterproof that spot until after the repair was completed.  They returned promptly and completed the work, also double checking for any chips or gaps that had arisen in the foam insulation and fixing them  and touching up the waterproofing epoxy where the termite company had drilled holes in the basement wall.  We were extremely pleased with their service. They are phenomenal! We highly recommend Dry-X Waterprofing.

Recent Review: Eddie was amazing! All contractors should behave as professionally as he did. He was honest and refused to sell us anything because he said our situation did not warrant the kind of solutions that cost extensive amounts of money. He gave us simple, inexpensive solutions. I was so impressed with his knowledge. On another note, as a woman I am not surprised when contractors only speak to the men. I am a woman who takes an active role in "typical" male scenarios. He spoke directly to both my husband and me and couldn't have been more professional, kind and informative. I only wish I had work to give him! However, if and when I do, I would not hesitate to call him in an instant.

ACM Basement Waterproofing
Award 2018Super Service Award
Recent Review: Mark and his team are awesome! From beginning to end, Mark was very responsive, informative and passionate about helping. His team was extremely professional, friendly and very clean. They replaced a poorly installed sump pump, installed a back up pump, connect a back up battery to both, replaced the French drain, built in a couple trenches and installed a membrane on the walls to control seepage. The work looks great! The only thing they could have done a little better was to explain the plan upfront so we could agree on the location/design of the installation. Overall, it was a great experience though, and I would definitely recommend ACM to others!

Recent Review: I had a long standing water problem in my basement. After evaluating the situation I was pleased to find out that I didnt need to do the whole basement. They were able to pinpoint the problem to the front of my house. The problem was resolved in just one day and it only cost me 1800 dollars. I appreciate the honesty and of course the savings. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Someone came out in October to look, made suggestions about how to fix the problem, but no one got back to me with an estimate. I sent a message recently, with no response.

After the contractor applied the waterproofing there were no further leaks whatsoever. The process is not dirty as tearing up the basement and installing a french drain and installing a sump pump. Very clean job.
