Reviews in Old Saybrook to Install Floating Floor
ATimberWolf Contracting LLC.
I’m very pleased with the service and work I received from Timber Wolf contractors and his crew. He contacted me and arranged a time to look at the work I needed done. He promptly sent me a quote. He set up a time between our schedules to build my spiral staircase and replace a window with a vent. He arrived on time and completed the job beyond my satisfacon. I was so pleased with the results and communication I received, that I hired them to come to my other home to install "Flooring for my sunroom, pantry and hallway. They also painted trim and upgraded my hardware on my kitchen cabinets. I felt very comfortable with Timber and left him a key so I could go to work. I highly recommend Timber Wolf contractors for your home projects, they are professional, polite and hardworking. Respectfully, A. Saint

AProfessional Design Wood Floors
We had a great experience with Professional Design. Dhiraj & his team were knowledgeable, fairly priced, thorough, punctual, and non-intrusive. From the young man who carefully delivered our floor boards - neatly stacking them in a non-traffic area, to the actual finish teams, everyone was polite and efficient. And we are amazed that the 4 damaged floor boards in our hall were replaced with a pretty seamless finish. I would highly recommend Professional Design to anyone who is looking to install a new wood floor or correct damage to an existing one.

AAGW HARDWOOD FLOORS
They workers were prompt, polite and wanted to make sure we were happy with what they were doing. Armand started the process by describing what they would and wouldn't be able to do with our almost 70 year old floors. The floors came out better than we expected. When our newly installed white oak flooring on the first floor started to cup, we contacted the installer. He said there was nothing he could do and he wouldn't come back to the house to take a look at it. We called Armand, who did not do the installation, and asked if he could give us any suggestions since we now trusted his work after a successful outcome with our refinishing repair. Armand came right over, looked at the floor, gave us some suggestions to try to dehumidify the basement under the floor, gave us a website to go to to better understand the causes and possible cures for a cupped floor, and offered to come back in the spring to see if there was anything more that could be done after the floor had been in place for a while. We would highly recommend Armand and AGW flooring for any new or repair work that you may have.

AWalter M Montero
Walter was prompt, efficient and cleaned up the workspace nicely. It was necessary to remove baseboards and trim to complete the repair but everything was back in place as if it hadn’t been touched when the job was finished. The floor looks like new.

ANeal's Wood Flooring
Contacted Neals Wood Flooring in Branford CT for an estimate to replace a couple of wood flooring panels and sand and refinish wood floors in our home. George Olt arrived on time the date of our appointment. He gave an estimate of the cost of the work to be performed. He emailed the quote to me the following day. We signed on for this company to perform the work. They did a fabulous job. The men who performed the work were extremely neat. We found only one small splash of polyurethane on the baseboard. Excellent job !! We had expected to come home to some heavy duty cleaning on our part. Not the case. I highly recommend Neal's for your wood flooring needs. They originally installed the flooring several years back and did a fabulous job at the time also.

AAGW HARDWOOD FLOORS
Bedroom: Armand and his crew did a fantastic job this summer repairing and refinishing our daughters bedroom floor. We had storm damage and some of the floor needed to be taken up and relaid to match. The entire process from beginning to end was seamless. The team at AGW were professional, courteous, and on time. What seemed like a daunting task was made simple by AGW and our bedroom floor came out better than we could've imagined. Simply put you won't find a better floor company around. Dance Floor: We needed an old studio floor expanded and matched to convert to a ballroom dance floor. It was installed and beautifully refinished this past May. Armand was the consummate professional and just brilliant to work with. He made sure to get the finish just right, not too slippery nor too sticky which is crucial for dancing. AGW were great communicators throughout the whole project, they kept us up to speed throughout. They stayed on budget and completed a marvelous dance space on time. The crew were polite, clean and professional. We'd be thrilled to always work with AGW. Livingroom, Dinning Room and Kitchen AWG hardwood floors refinished all three rooms wood floors and they looked better then when we had them laid by the original company. Armand's crew put other contractors to shame. St Anthony Hall, Yale University My husband is President of St Anthony Hall at Yale University. After our wonderful experiences with AWG at home he hired them to refinish the floors at the hall. They came out beautiful! always on budget and workers who respect your home or professional space.

ACOLONIAL FLOORING PLUS
The job went very well. The sales person was honest and explained our options for the floor, They lent us samples that we previewed in the room. Once we decided on the color and type of cork, it was easy to schedule the job. The installation crew was prompt, neat and did a very professional job of installing the cork floor. It looks great!

ANantucket Custom Flooring
I'd recommend them to anyone looking for floors, though I can only speak to the finishing and not to installation as we already had the wood flooring in place. Schedule was on time and any questions or follow up were promptly addressed.
Recent Review: John did a fantastic job on our floors. The rip-out and installation process was seamless and the final product is beautiful. John was very responsive to our schedule and we could not be happier. I highly recommend Robbins Flooring for anyone who wants a 1st class product.
Recent Review: They were great from start to finish. They were the first people I contacted for a quote. It was quick and easy with them coming when I scheduled, and they provided a detail quote the next day. Also gave great advice. I wanted to get a few other quotes, which took months of trying to get ahold of people, getting them to come to my house, and then getting back to me with a quote. I had assumed since they were a full company they would be more expensive than the individual contractors. I was wrong- they were actually had the lowest price. After deciding to go with them, I emailed the person I had been in contact with. Not 10 minutes later he called to confirm a couple things. Due to my complicated schedule and needing to travel for work, they came the very next day for some final assessments and to sign a contract. They started work soon after. They had a very aggressive timeline to get things done, and I was shocked that they hit it. It was a very large project, and they finished start to finish no more than 4-5 weeks. The quality of the work was outstanding. Additionally they were great at giving advice as we went- always providing options for me to have final say on, but giving great recommendations on things I might not have previously considered. Overall they were great to work with. They had a great calendar online that they updated frequently so I always knew what they were doing and when (for example, it was very helpful to plan around the day they needed to do some jack hammering). They were also incredibly great to contact responding to emails and texts instantly as certain aspects got planned out. Couldn't have gone better, really glad i chose to go with them. Coincidentally, my sister was also finishing her basement up in NH. She was using an individual contractor. Very minor work she was getting done, nothing fancy and a much smaller space. She started a month earlier than I did. My basement was finished a month ago, and hers is still not done yet. Better Built Basements is professional, does great quality work, punctual, and even ended up being the most cost effective option. Can't go wrong with them!
Recent Review: The workers did a great job. When we moved in to the house there was a old mildewy carpet that made my allergies go crazy. They were able to remove it without triggering my sensitive allergies. The job took about 1 1/2 days and the installers were very nice and considerate. All in all a painless install.
Recent Review: AMAZING!! I cannot say enough GREAT things about Mike and his workers. They did such unbelievable work on every project (and there were several). They were always on time, extremely hard working, always kept in contact and very honest! (which is rare in my experience). We will definitely be calling them again for future projects. We are so happy!!! Thank you Stress Free Solutions :)
Recent Review: Working with Julio was a pleasure. He was very accommodating to my schedule, and pointed things out and made suggestions throughout the project. He was very professional, keeping in constant contact as the work progressed, asking questions and giving status updates. I am very satisfied with the quality of work that he and his crew provided. The project included the following: - Sanding and painting of ceiling, walls, doors, and window and door frames in several rooms. - Fixed several doors that did not close properly. - Installed fireplace mantle (purchased separately). - Built and installed custom bookshelves on either side of fireplace, and stained to match newly purchased mantle. - Installed hard wood floor (purchased separately) and baseboards. - Installed wainscoting (purchased separately). - Leveled basement floor, put down overall skim coat and installed vinyl tiles (purchased separately). Thank you Julio, and your crew.

Recent Review: ABSOLUTELY BEST PRICES They absolutely have the best prices in northern New Jersey. How do I know? Well, it's sort of my job to know. I've literally gone to every single flooring/tiling store and Speedwell has beaten them all, sometimes by a very significant margin. If you don't believe me, call any store and get a quote on a piece of flooring. A lot of them will say they don't quote over the phone. (That's double-speak for we want you to come down and then hopefully, when you hear the price, you'll be too lazy to go back to the cheaper place and you'll just order then and there. What's crazy is that this actually works. Ask car dealers.) Think about this observation I made about them. Their normal prices are better than the sale prices of other places. It makes my job easier since I don't have to always comparison shop because I know I'm going to get the best price. I still do time to time to make sure but it's always cheaper. WHAT MIGHT BE WRONG I think the reason for the negative Yelp reviews is that this business does a lot of business with commercial buyers who buy in bulk. (Thus, the cheap prices.) They don't do as much business with residential customers so they don't have their own in-house installation crew. They sub-contract the work and that is the problem. They try to find good people but quality control is pretty tough when you are subcontracting the work out. This is probably the reason why there are so many complaints about the workmanship. Speedwell isn't overseeing the work so they can't control the results. Speedwell probably just offers installation as more of a "favor" to residential customers. (I'm not sure of this but I'm just speculating.) If I were them, I would just sell floor products rather than include installation. It's the better business model. But, what do I know, right? SELECTION AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE The ladies in the store are absolutely the nicest people you'll meet. They let me take their only sample piece over the weekend so I could bring them to job sites. My designer could now see if the sample piece's color truly matches the room's surrounding fixtures. That's really great customer service. Their store has a real wide range of products to choose from and the ladies' technical knowledge is solid. What's more important is taste and they've made some great suggestions in the past. BUY THE MATERIALS HERE. FIND YOUR OWN CONTRACTOR TO INSTALL. This is how you save a few hundred/thousand bucks. The contractor is not going to go looking for the best price like you will. But, they do get a slightly discounted contractor's price sometimes so when you go shopping around, just say that you're a designer and you want the contractor's price. Not so hard, is it? I'm a property manager so I have previously used contractors lined up to install the product. I suggest you guys to look for contractors that will just do the install. To find good contractors, ask to take a look at work projects that they have done a year or two ago. (Newly installed product will almost always look good; the bad quality reveals itself over time. Look really close and be anal.) If you still want to use Speedwell's subcontractors, ask them to only suggest contractors that they absolutely know to be awesome. I'm sure they will tell you the truth. They really are nice people.
