Recent Review: A little late in the review posting since the roof job was completed in June 2017. But Raul Rios at Christopher Home Improvement was a pleasure to work with and was as advertised, if not more. I had received quotes from 5 other roofing contractors and his estimate was definitely fair. Just from the first meet and greet, I felt he was going to do a quality job. His hard work and attention to detail resonated with his crew, who were exceptional. Raul listened to what we wanted, from having ridge/soffit vents installed down to the details of the color for the new gutters. We were planning to paint our home a darker gray for the body and a lighter gray for the trim color. He was able to match our trim color to a color for the gutters he had available to choose from. Further, he initially ordered brown drip edges that are installed around the perimeter of the roof. But we wanted a drip edge that would match the color of our trim plus the gutters and brown would seem to clash. He was responsive and was going to get white drip edges and paint them a matching gray color. It turned out very well! Him and his crew showed up and completed the job in two days and even came back a third day to complete the cleanup since we had a large rainstorm that interrupted a half days of work. They are a very hardworking crew, extremely responsive and respectful to us and our property. They were a pleasure to work with and we would recommend them to anyone. I’ve actually recommended them to my friend who was very satisfied with their work.

Recent Review: Kris Perkins came out the day after I called her for an estimate. She spent a good half hour examining the roof closely. It was evident that it was probably smart to completely re-roof given the wear on our asphalt shingles, but she provided us with options all the same. She gave us separate estimates for: repair ($450), re-tiling over the existing shingle ($4,500), and tearing down the old shingle and replacing the roof ($7,320). We had bids as high as $14,000 for complete re-roofing of our home and garage, so her bids were very reasonable. I noticed that she uses highly rated Certainteed asphalt shingles for roofing. We did not end up using her because another excellent contractor had put in a low bid and was able to start right away. But I would definitely contact her again for work on our home.

Recent Review: Had a really good experience with G A Dennison & Sons. They were very organized.  Started a bit later than originally expected, but we had rain so understandable. Once the job was scheduled, they were there when they said they would be.  All debris was clean up and removed daily.  They did not drop any dumpsters on the site.  They met all expectations as far as the quality of work, but where this contractor shines the brightest is around communication. They were exemplary at communicating which is what really makes them shine in my opinion.  I've sort of gotten used to contractors ignoring my calls, not showing up when they say they will without calling, etc.  G A Dennison  & Sons broke the mold when it comes to this kind of unprofessional behavior.  One time I called to ask a question.  George wasn't in the office so I left  message, and I got a call back from him within a minute of hanging up.  I was pleasantly stunned.  Many CT contractors could learn a valuable lesson from this company.

Recent Review: Eric booked the job a few months in advance due to both of our schedules. The time came and he contacted me to perform the work. He and his workers were prompt courteous and safely cleaned up the debris. What really impressed me with Eric over other contractors that I requested quotes from was that he offered to correct the problem that caused the roof to leak. Others only quoted repairs/replacing the roof. Eric trimmed back trees and installed copper to fight excessive moss build up.

Recent Review: From start to finish they were very professional. The new roof looks great. They were on time ,spotless in clean up,  and put back everything exactly as it was on the deck. The price was in line with going rates. They required only a $10.00 deposit and I paid them in full only after it was completed and inspected by me. I have only good things to say about them and would definitely recommend them to anyone and call them to do work in the future.

Recent Review: In searching for a contractor they appeared to be by far the most experienced with metal, and that impression was borne out by their performance. Their website is very informative, and the local customers that they gave as references were highly satisfied and the results looked good. They were severely backlogged, but when the project was done the crew was excellent. They fully understood every aspect of what they were doing, planned the activities well, and worked with great care to get the details right. They showed up early every day and worked long hours while minimizing disruption of our lives. They kept the area neat, went to some trouble to avoid damaging our plantings, and cleaned up very well at the end of the job. The workers were friendly and communicated well about what they were doing and what to expect.

Recent Review: I had water coming into a roof that was not so old that it needed replacing. I called numerous roofing contractors and it was the same story - they all said i needed a new roof and quoted about the same - $5000 and when I said the roof was not that old, they gave me different reasons as to why it was leaking. I finally did an Angie's List search under 'asphalt roof repair', found Keven listed and phoned. He came right out, and found he problem immediately. He immediately said the roof did not need replacing, that it was a small section of bad shingles. He fixed it on the spot. I hosed the roof down and checked it after it rained and it has been properly fixed. $350.

AEricsen Contracting
Eric will go above and beyond to be sure the work is first rate and you are satisfied with the job. He is honest and more concerned with doing a good job and keeping his customers happy than he is with making extra money. For this roofing job, he had to work around a Christmas holiday and daily rain forecasts. Eric planned each day?s work carefully to be sure any area of the roof stripped would be sealed before any rain came. Eric kept close tabs on his crew and personally got up on the roof to inspect all work daily to be sure his crew members were doing it right. All plants and structures in harms way were covered and protected before the job began. After cleanup, my yard was in better shape than when they started. I do a lot of work on my house myself and am particular about how things are done.  It was a pleasure to watch these guys work; they were true craftsmen and did a spectacular job. This is the second time I have hired Eric. The first time was for sheetrock work. Both times he and his crew did a great job and were trustworthy, courteous, and accommodating; everyone was a pleasure to interact with. I would hire Ericsen again in a second. You need to schedule these guys in advance because, like many good contractors, they are in high demand.

AEricsen Contracting
Eric Petersen submiitted one of the four bids we received on our roof job. He was punctual, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He answered all of our questions patiently and his bid was very competitive. He gave us a detailed proposal listing all materials and contingencies. He had several jobs already lined up, so he assigned us a start date two months ahead. He kept us informed of his schedule and hit the start date exactly. Eric works with one small crew and manages the job site himself. Our roof is a simple design with no eaves, but it posed some challenges. Layers of asphalt shingles covered the original layer of cedar shingles, which were laid over wood slats, Eric's crew had to strip the roof completely and then lay down plywood (and the moisture barrier) before nailing on the new shingles. Eric cut the plywood himsef to insure that the pieces joined properly with no gaps. The weather was wet that week but whenever rain started to fall the crew covered the exposed area with a tarp and waited out the storm, returning to work as soon as the rain let up. They cleaned up the worksite every day and left the grounds pristine at the end of the job. We have not found a single nail on the property since the job was completed. The new roof looks great!
