Recent Review: The JAD Basement Systems representative arrived promptly at the time we had scheduled. He was courteous and professional. After a thorough evaluation of the basement water intrusion problem, the recommended solution was installation of a basement drainage system with sump pump. That would involve digging two trenches in the concrete floor along the south and east walls of the basement, installing a drainage system, and installing a sump pump near the north-east corner of the basement. We would have had to clear a 4 ft. wide path along that route to allow room for the installers to dig the trenches and install the drainage system. We would have been responsible for dust clean-up and replacement of items moved from the work path. The estimate for the recommended solution was $5145. We chose not to have the system installed because ours is a very old house and, although we felt their price was fair, we did not want to spend that much money. We also thought that the solution was a bit of "overkill" for the size of the problem. Unfortunately, no other possible solutions were offered such as sealing interior and exterior walls and/or sealing the adjacent driveway. Although we didn't have the work done, we do not hesitate to recommend this company for serious consideration by those who have a need for the type of basement drainage solution offered by this firm.
Recent Review: We called John in a panic on Sunday night, because our sump pumps were all backed up due to huge amounts of rain and snow thaw. He came out late in the evening and was as nice as could be. He rinsed out the sump pumps, and they worked better. He looked around for quite a bit, and helped us to see that the problem was not actually in the sump pumps, but that soil had been washed away from our bulkhead by groundwater, and that's where the water was flowing from. Because he didn't need to change out the pump, he only charged us $20. to come out, even though it was late at night on a weekend. That was very decent of him, we thought. He helped to calm our panic and direct us towards who to call to fix the actual problem. I would definitely call him again for problems with our sump pump, drain cleaning, or repairs.

I used Matt pro plumbing 2 years ago to replace a water heater and was very satisfied with the work and professionalism, so I called Matt for a sump pump installation. I lived in my house for 6 years and never had water in the basement, but 2 years ago in the spring when we had 21 inches of rain in one week my basement flooded with one inch of water. It happened again this year with only 5 inches of rain! Time for a sump pump! Matt showed up with two trucks and 3 helpers; two years ago he had one truck and a single helper. He's expanding. He says that through recommendations his work has expanded. Well...good for him..he deserves it! Anyway, the work required jack hammerring through the celler floor, excavating a hole 24 inches deep, installing a sump pump, installing a pvc effluent pipe and check valve, mounting and attaching the pipe to the celler wall and through an opening and attaching the pvc pipe to the foundation outside. The sump pump was a 1/3 hp, industrial strength, heavy metal pump and warranteed for 3 years; not like the plastic crap you find at lowes or HD. Matt warants his work installation work for 1 year. After installation we filled the sump with a garden hose which took about 1 min. The sump pump turn on and emptied the sump in less than 5 secs! Nice! While the Jack Hammerring was going on, Justin replaced a faulty shutoff valve in me bathroom sink and dissassemled the cold water faucet removing debris that was impeding flow. NO CHARGE! How can you beat that?!

Amazing. YES - you pay a lot - but they rocked, their solution rocked, and the installation was flawless. We just built a brand new home and the builder put in the cheapest 24" deep sump pump possible. We live in an area known for basement flooding so I did my research - had several companies come in - and settled on Connecticut Basement Systems. But my LORD - expensive. But now I know why. Their crew of 3 showed up and laid down plastic mat from our front door all the way down to the basement (at least 200'). It was over kill - but then I saw why. They had to dig a 36" deep pit and a wider hole - and brought up all the mess in buckets. NOT A SINGLE DROP ON THE BASEMENT FLOOR OR ONE THE WAY UP THE STAIRS. In fact - if you didn't see the high tech 3 pump sump pump they installed - you would have never known they were there. EVERYONE was super nice and answered all my many questions. I just spent a year in **** building a new home - and this was the best experience I've had with a contractor in 10 years. Pay the bucks - great product - great installation - great service.

Sunday afternoon and a flooding basement. Called and got the owner directly. He was at my house within 45 minutes ready to work. Checked the pump and told me he'd have to get one from a box store since it was Sunday. He called from the store with pump prices and a recommendation. When he got back to the house he replaced the pump and cleaned up. Made recommendations on pump care and fixes to plumbing. I have major work coming up and this will be the first plumber I call.

Just bought a house and wanted to get the sump pump inspected. The guy showed up, very respectful, saw the pump, and told me that all he can do is normal "outside" inspection and make sure it works, because it was an old pump. Very happy with the guy and the company.

AJoe the Plumber
Joe the Plumber on Sept 8, 2015, Joe gave us an estimate to replace our 2003 sump.pump. It was never working efficiently, Joe stated that the sump pump had a vertical lever and had no check value. He came on Sept 10 and replaced it with a new sump pump with a horizontal lever and a check valve. Joe was very knowledgeable. We were very pleased and highly recommend him.

I had a wet basement and the provider chiseled out a trench and installed a sump pump. The positive: the area where the trench is installed works and water doesn't come in. The other positive is that the job was relatively inexpensive. So, the "job" worked, water is not coming in. But, I think the job looks bad / ugly. The cement they used to cover the trench has already split in several spots plus it is super thin in some areas. This is not what I consider a quality job. The did solve my water problem but it doesn't look good. I wish I had spent a little more and gotten a nicer looking job. If you want cheap -- get these guys; it works. But looks ugly. If you want a job that looks nice, then don't get these guys. Note: I don't remember the exact date of installation of price. The above May 1st date and 3000 is my best memory.

Price was the best. Work went smoothly. They were able to do their work with the least amount of jackhammering of the cellar floor.

Best solution out of five estimates and also lowest cost! Couldn't be happier with his solution, his work, and his price. Two estimates were for $1,200 and had a significant flaw. His did not because he looked more carefully at the situation than any of the other four. Would definitely use him again and recommend him.
