Hutter's Landscaping
Recent Review: He first came with his son Michael to help clean up after the winter. This was not part of the estimate and included raking and mulching as well as cleaning out a small pond. He also reseeded areas of the lawn that had been attacked by grubs last year. They worked hard and did an excellent job. When his other son Jonathan returned from college, they started on the digging and preparation for approx. 100 feet of flower beds. This included removing the old trees and shrubs, digging down about 3 feet, lining the trench with septic fabric to prevent washout, and backfilling with topsoil and compost. They were dedicated and careful, always cleaning up after themselves. His advice about plants and layout was invaluable. My wife and I are very satisfied with the quality of work and will definitely hire him again when needed.

Recent Review: Very high-quality and professional work, and distinctly better (in terms of quality of work done--things just look right when the project is completed) than other landscaping companies we have worked with.  Not cheap, but fair.  Also, no surprises in pricing--the bid price is the price charged, with very clear communications if there are any complications or requested changes that could lead to additional cost.  This compares very favorably with what we've experience working with other landscaping companies--where the price might initially seem lower, but the ultimate cost, to get the job done right, is higher.

FDenscot Pool & Spa
In 2005 we purchased a house with a pool. We knew the pool was in need of repair. Scott Pools in Woodbury was recommended to us by the realtor and they referred us to Denscot. We assumed they were a branch. Scott Meeker said the work would be done before the swimming season of 2006 began. They started after July 4th and emptied the pool. A major storm the next day raised the water table and lifted the pool out of the ground. Scott suggested refilling the pool with the pond's water to see if it would sink again. It didn't. We were then given the choice of trashing the pool and installing a new one or cutting off the highest side by a foot to make it seem level. We chose the latter. Because of the change in the topography, the pool continued to leak. Denscot sent a diver who said he filled the cracks. The pool continued to leak. Each week the maintenance guy said he couldn't clean the pool because the water level was too low. At the end of the summer Denscot sent us a bill for $300 more than contracted because of all the extra work. We threatened to sue him. He said he'd like to keep our business. We laughed.
