Recent Review: Not only did they redo the new counter tops, but they even took the old ones off of my hands and donated them so I found that extremely helpful as well.

Recent Review: Crowdsourcing site for interior and architectural design. Interesting service and if you are comfortable with internet shopping and a little risk, IMHO, worth the cost.  My project:   Redesigning kitchen and family room (great room concept) and we needed interior design/style advise for the project. The site posts a "competition" for the project, you determine what amount of money to offer for the competition (site recommends an amount, but the customer is free to change if needed.) Within 20 days, we had 20 designers signed up for our competition from all over the world. In the end, 8 designers submitted designs. We picked our top 4, rated all designs and the top three were selected based on ratings -- one from France, USA and Serbia. Honorable Mention went to country of Georgia. First, second and third place received a portion of the award money.   Pros and Cons:  You, the customer, must be comfortable with the risk of paying for something and not knowing if you'll like the result. For me, this was part of the process and an acceptable risk.  You don't have a face to face consultation. The site has a "wall" where you can post ideas, photos, communication with the designers or architects. I resolved this by posting my houzz.com design book on the wall to give designers ideas of our likes, dislikes, etc. You can also post requirements and constraints for your project. Toward the end of the competition (a deadline is set when you submit a project) a lot of communication occurs with the architects and designers. Expect it, it's part of the process.  The website is fairly rudimentary. Online/chat help is available but is somewhat hit and miss.  You can send designs to friends and family to rate. This is helpful in making a decision.  Overall, we got a number of ideas between the designers and were very pleased with the process and project.

Recent Review: The provider required 60% down payment upfront. Then 85% payment after cupboards were torn out and new ones put in, but before counter tops and all other finishing work was done. Paying this much money up front was my first mistake. I picked out granite counter tops, sinks, corbels, faucet by July 11th. I was told by Vince Mattorano that the granite would be installed week of July 21st. Then I was told it would be installed week of August 5th. Then I was told it would be installed September 2nd. At that point, I emailed Vince and asked for the name of the granite installer so I could verify that he actually lined someone up. He emailed this to me: and quot;Like I said we need to talk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So make you self available so we can do so at 5:00 Pm enough of all the e-mails and text messages. I will be calling you!!!!!!!!and quot; Vince Mattorano Jr. Innovative Baths and Remodeling vince@innovativebathsandremodeling.com [*** Link removed ***] (303) 955-5231 Office/Fax (303) 303-9427 Mobile He had also yelled at me on the phone prior to this telling me I had and quot;failed as a customer.and quot; When we talked on the phone he told me that actually the fabricator would no longer do business with Vince because of all the delays I had caused. Huh?? I finally hired a lawyer to see if I could get some of my money back. As part of the legal steps, Vince was supposed to provide a cost estimate of all the items on the contract, including the items he had not done. Vince grossly inflated the items he marked as and quot;work completed but not chargedand quot; and grossly deflated the and quot;work charged but not completed.and quot; For example, in the contract, Vince said he would purchase and install 30 square feet of back splash. In his estimate to my lawyer he said that would cost $225. That averages to $7.50 per square foot. The going rate for back splash is between $20-$45 a square foot. But Vince does it for $7.50. Yeah, right. Vince also said that to install 9 corbels that cost $350. That is $60 per corbel. Keep in mind I actually purchased the corbels and painted them -- because Vince said the ones I told him I wanted were on back order. They weren't. I called Home Depot -- they were not on back order. Vince actually told me lawyer that if I paid him $16 he would give me my sink back that I had paid several hundred dollars for. To his credit, after the last letter that my lawyer sent to Vince, he did deliver my sink to me without charging an extra $16. I could go on and on about how this contractor is not a good one to hire. I paid $37,000 for cupboards and a couple torn out walls for a pantry and new canned light fixtures. Yes, that is right! $37,000! Do NOT hire this company. If they treat you like they treated me, they will take your money, yell at you, and then not do the work.

Recent Review: The project was a major remodel of the kitchen, dining area, two baths and the exterior. It included new cabinets, moving walls, plumbing, major electrical changes and new flooring. The schedule was three month. When completed the remodel met all expectations. Most of the remodel was done by a true craftsman named Dontje. Dontje does great work and make sure each tile and cabinet fits perfectly. So the final product is truly beautiful. The remodel actually took 4 months , two weeks were lost when Dontje was out of town. Cost came in 9% over budget, mostly because of additions we made. We waited to file this to see how the changes would do over the winter. Only one problem occurred, water dripping from a cantilevered bath. Mike was there within an hour and the plumber within two hours.

Drew was extremely professional from our very first contact.  We had a tight schedule due to the holiday, he got us a fast and reasonable quote and then completed our paint project quickly.  He painted two accent walls in our great room.  These walls came out beautifully along with some minor crack prep that he did for us as well.  The master ceiling is high and sloped, presenting a slight challenge.  Drew handled that as well, again with great quality.  We strongly recommend him for any of your paint/handyman needs.  Thanks again Drew!

The work went efficiently and smoothly. He and his crew worked by themselves while we were at work. They cleaned up every day so that we did not feel like we were living in a dustbowl or needed to clean up just to get dinner. His suggestions for construction solutions always met the conditions we specified and his workmanship was always first class. John was working at our house on and off for over 3 months and the job was as trouble free as any I have ever experienced. We were more than pleased with his work and his pricing was quite affordable. We will have him back to re-do our master bedroom, master bath and utility room soon. We are more than happy to recommend him to any client needing first rate work done.

Our bathroom was just bare subfloor and drywall. He built a pan for standing shower, modified plumbing, tiled bathroom floors, as well as tiled shorwer with pebble floor, wall nook, and accent strip. It can be very difficult to find someone in the area that does quality work in a timely manner. Drew (and his wife Cecilia) were extremely professional-we would not hesitate to hire him again!
