Recent Review: Scott has performed a number of jobs for us from small repair to rebuilding an outdoor shed. He is professional, has straight forward pricing, and does great work. The largest job he did was to repair our flooding, rotted out shed. He had a number of suggestions to solve our recurring flooding problems, get get the appropriate materials to match our home covenants, and do the work over a number of days. Highly recommended.

Recent Review: I have hired him many times before. He has already built the home we are currently living in and now he is building us a shed. He is excellent with clients. He is very knowledgable with the building trades. I really appreciate the fact that he takes care of his subcontractors. Becuase of this, he is very honest and reliable.

Recent Review: I was rather surprised to find out that this company did not actually do the work, but contracted out the roofing job for my small barn. The experience was good, overall, but I was told that I would be called if any additional materials were required (new plywood) and I never did receive a call, so the final cost was of course higher than the estimate. I was somewhat disappointed that they did not check in with me before proceeding with the work, although to be honest I would have okayed it as it involved the integrity of a roof. The work was done nicely, cleanly and efficiently. Absolutely no mess left behind. I think the cost might have been a bit high, but I have nothing to back up this assumption. Regardless, the roof looks great and no longer leaks.

Recent Review: They were wonderful about coming out to do two estimates for the insurance company.  They also called and tried to help me get the company going on the money end.  I will use these guys again!

Recent Review: Glenn did a wonderful job. He came when he said he would or called if he thought the weather would not cooperate with the work that he needed to do that day. He worked steadily over the course of more than 3 weeks during the month of May, 2014, on evenings and weekends. The largest project was to build us a new patio, which took up most of this time. This new flagstone patio is really pretty! Before he could begin to make the patio Glenn had to dig up and remove quite a bit of cement that had originally been the foundations for a garden fence and shed. There was also a sloping cement walkway that he had to break up and remove. The project involved a lot of regrading of the area to get it level and now the patio looks like it was always meant to be there. He had to haul in the dirt to accomplish this. I purchased the flagstone and had it delivered but he moved the stones around to create a nice composition. Then he set the flagstones in a sand foundation. We also had an oak tree that, due to a severe iron deficiency, needed to be removed. The tree was about 6-8 inches in diameter at the stump. Glenn cut the tree down, hauled it away, and removed the stump with a chipper. He did a great job with that, too, completing this project in less than an hour's time. Finally, we had some flower beds that needed to be prepared for a completely new planting. Altogether, the beds totalled over 70 linear feet and they are about 3 feet deep. Glenn dug up 2 large rose bush stumps and roto-tilled the entire thing. He completed this project in about 6 hours. It was a pleasure working with Glenn!

ANorthWoods Handyman
NorthWoods Handyman has been an excellent partner for a number of repairs we're making to our farm house. Ron, the owner, came out to our house at our scheduled time to do an initial estimate of the repairs. He explained how he worked, who he'd bring out with him and what we could expect. My respect for him rose right away when he told us straight out that there was one type of repair he didn't do (carpet patching). I'd rather have someone tell me that up front than try to do it and make a mess of it! Ron and his team did everything they said they were going to do and more. Along the way, they made good recommendations to make things even better (adding baseboards to the flooring, for example). They were patient when I changed my mind on the shower surround I wanted, and returned the old one to Home Depot without complaint. They even helped us move furniture around to make room for the flooring installation. Ron picked up all the materials we needed, credited back any extra items, and provided receipts for everything without my having to ask for them. The repairs they have made look great. And the new flooring they installed in the basement is fantastic! Everyone who has seen it has commented about how great it looks. They've also been very respectful of our house and our time, letting us know when they are arriving or leaving, cleaning up after themselves, and just generally taking care of things. There was no mess left behind when they were done. We will definitely be using NorthWoods Handyman again. In fact, we have already asked him to estimate four more projects for us, and are looking forwards to getting those completed. UPDATE: We contracted NorthWoods Handyman again to complete some more minor projects, including one really icky one (pulling down old insulation out of a farm shed). They arrived on time and got everything done in two days! The work was excellent, and we're very pleased. I've upgraded their punctuality score to an A.
