I was told that a broken window in a patio door had to be replaced with an entire 8' sliding door unit for $2,600+ and that just the window could not be replaced. I called another glass service and the window is to be replaced for $395.

We contacted Champion after doing some research and after deciding even though they weren't the cheapest around , we were looking more at quality and service than anything else.  These folks certainly fit the bill!  Their salesman came out and gave us his presentation and we were even more sold on the product.  There seemed to be a lapse in time when we didn't hear anything from them as we were wanting to get the installation done before the onset of winter.  As it turned out our salesperson was promoted and moved to a different area(congrats Greg!) and our new salesperson quickly brought us up to speed.  The installation was flawless and professional, and very quick!  I came home from work expecting to do some cleanup and some touching up but absolutely none was needed!  We could not have been happier!  The big test of course was how did they perform thru the winter and I can say without hesitation that they exceeded expectations as our heating bill did not go up even though gas prices did.  We could no longer tell when the wind was blowing because completely closed out outside noises as well as harmful uv rays.We cannot wait to finish doing the rest of the windows in the house now and would most definitely recommend Champion for the job!

Rich came to give an estimate, and immediately I trusted that he would be reliable and that his work would be excellent. He reassured me that all these small jobs were right up his alley. I did wonder if maybe he was too laid-back to be really efficient (I'm a fast-talker and mover, and I know that doesn't always translate into efficiency, but I did wonder...). Rich showed up a little early on the day that began the repairs, and while he waited for me, he removed the branch and cut it up to be hauled away (he handled that too, after checking with me). Then he walked through the house with me again, noting which materials he needed to purchase and which I already had. He started his co-worker Jerry on one project while he went to the local Home Depot and picked up all the supplies he would need. (Oh, the value of someone who knows what they're doing! More was accomplished in that first day than I could have imagined.) In short, things moved along quickly but with no lack of excellence. Rich consulted with me at every turn if there were options he thought might matter to me, but mostly quietly and expertly went about making this house look and work the way it should. Faucets work, walls look good, rotten wood is gone, doors are replaced and match the existing woodwork, toilets flush...life is good. Rich will be returning to finish up on some projects that were on hold because replacement parts had to be ordered (like lighting strips I personally wanted to handle). He has billed me for the first three days of work, and his bill is right in line with his estimate. So my small concern about efficiency was totally unfounded. Rich takes everything in, measures once, and gets it right. (I measure three times and take an average—so exactly who's got the effeciency?) I will absolutely ask him to help with my new home if I need it.

Mr. Lynch was great.  He was very professional and very prompt.  He delivered his materials a couple of days before he was scheduled to start the job so that he could "hit the ground running".   His work ethic is unsurpassed.  He arrived promptly in the morning, worked hard all day (only taking a quick break to eat a sandwich) and only left after he had accomplished what he had expected to accomplish for the day.   The icing on the cake was the last day he was there (a Friday), he was painting the bathroom.  The colors that my wife had picked out weren't working out.  He wasn't very happy with the colors and convinced my wife to change them.  Whereas most contractors would have just finished the job "as-is" and left early, Greg wanted the job to look right.  So, he worked late and for no extra charge. I'm so pleased with his work and work ethic  that I'm looking for other things that I can hire him for!

Ron, the owner of NorthWoods Handyman, was involved in all the work done. He and his team were friendly, helpful and professional at all times. They did everything we needed and included us in decisions. He came in under the estimate, too. We will definitely hire him again!

ANew Fresh Look
I needed a wall built with a door. The location was in the basement. This wall would serve as a separator to add a fourth bedroom. The wall needed to be integrated into the soffit. Doug has the building knowledge to decipher exactly what needed to be done and he made the appropriate recommendations. The job went perfect. Doug was on time everyday and did all the work himself. My tenants were living in the house at the time of the job. Doug made sure the work area was separated from the living area. This mitigated any dirt and dust from entering the living area. Each day he worked it was a full day. He needed to order a custom size door for the opening. He charged me just what it cost him. Usually when you here custom the item gets very expensive, not in this case. My tenants have two small children and Doug was friendly, polite and professional to the entire family. The work Doug performed was outstanding. It looks as if the job was completed when the house was built. You can't tell it was done many years after the house was built.

I rated my overall experience with Jim as a B only because of his attention to detail.  In all other aspects he is an A+. Jim is a wonderful person and is willing and able to do most any job you need.  It does not matter how big or how small, he will give it the same attention.  I am a perfectionist and  I design many of the things I want Jim to build.  Jim does not remember details so you must write them down and many times work with him on projects if you want them to turn out exactly as planned.  His price reflects the fact that he is prepared to work for those on a budget.  He does not charge the high dollar contractor prices so you can expect that there might be a few "redos". That being said, if there is any aspect of the job that you are not satisfied with, he will immediately make it right.  Jim has no problem salvaging and reusing whatever materials you have on hand to complete a job, thus saving me hundreds of dollars. I had to reuse doors, hardware, baseboards, tile etc. and he had no problem utilizing what I had and making it work.  I have a champagne taste and a beer budget, therefore I must work with someone that will work with me.  Jim will work with any budget and attempt any job, however, you must work with him to insure that you and he are on the same page.  I enjoy being hands on so this does not bother me and I would not hesitate to hire him again.  Thanks to Jim, the short sale of a house that I purchased, now has closets in every bedroom, a fully finished basement complete with its own kitchen, electrical issues solved, new lighting, ceiling fans and a beautiful stone mailbox to adorn the front.  With a little patience and more involvement in your project you will be satisfied with the results that Jim is capable of achieving and you will have a little more jingle left in your pockets.

AIntegrity Remodeling Services
When my husband and I decided to have our basement finished, we thought it would be fairly easy to find a good contractor to do the job, boy, were we wrong!  We called some using the phone book.  It was not a good experience getting estimates, start and finish times nailed down.  Some contractors that we called were either unlicensed, way over priced, forgot to come the day they were supposed to come for the estimate, were late or seemed uninterested in what we wanted.  We just didn't get a good feeling from the four that we called and met.  We were about ready to give up and put it off. Our final attempt was to check Angie's List to see if we could find someone that we did feel comfortable with, which we should have done in the first place.  I contacted Mr. Jim Ruffin owner of Integrity Remodeling Services.  We set up an appointment and within the next couple days, he showed up on time, emailed us a complete estimate including cost of labor, materials, start and approximate finish time.  He emailed photos of work he has done on basements similar to what we have and what we wanted. He stayed in constant contact throughout the entire process from start to finish.  He was on time, easy to communicate with and worked on the job each day until he finished as he said he would.  There were a couple of times that I made changes but he had no problem with my requests and implemented them.  As the process went along, he explained in detail what he was working on and what was to come next. My husband and I were very impressed with the quality of workmanship.  He was very organized and cleaned up the area after each work day.  He came prepared with all necessary tools and materials to complete the job.  Upon completion, he took all waste materials (and there was alot) to the dump.  Our overall experience was exceptionally positive: his quality of work was outstanding and customer service skills and professionalism were well appreciated.     Mr. Ruffin is an extremely hard worker and utilized his time wisely.  At the completion of the project, he was strictly on budget with no added costs.  We are very happy with our new bedroom and bathroom.  It looks great and turned out exactly the way we  hoped it would.   We highly recommend Mr. Ruffin and we plan to use his services again on future projects.

Recent Review: Greg was awesome! He showed up when he said he would and cleaned up when he left for the day. I had a baby shower planned during the time he was scheduled to work there, and he went above and beyond to make sure the house looked nice for that event. Our house has shifted and the doors would not close, and he fixed them all. He's also very personable and high energy. I would definitely hire him again.

Business Description: Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to earn your business. I believe in doing business differently than most window & door companies. INSTALLATION: I believe the way windows and/or doors are installed is very important. Most local companies want to use installation methods that are fast but not the best for your home. “Insert” installs is the most common type of installation method. It relies on a thin bead of caulking to keep water and air out of your home. For 99% of my jobs, I REFUSE to use this method. It is nothing more than a short term fix & a waste of your money due to inefficiency and ineffectiveness. My installation method involves a full frame removal. This way you are guaranteed to receive the best effectiveness and efficiency of your new investment. As well as, using special flashing tapes, spray foam insulation, and caulking to keep water and air from infiltrating and entering your home. This method is by far the best way to have your windows and doors perform at their peak. PRODUCTS: I have direct relationships with 6 different window manufacturers and 3 door manufacturers. I built my portfolio based on 2 main factors. The company’s integrity and the quality & performance of their products. I know how a well built product operates and installs because I have been a lead installer for 22 years! Wood, Vinyl, Fiberglass, and Hybrid products are available. My mission is to provide products to fit my customer’s needs, desire, and budget. SALES METHOD: No pressure here:) I understand people are shopping for the best fit. My purpose is to make the sales process easy, efficient, and honest! Therefore, I utilize technology to streamline the quoting process. Customers have the option to send me pictures of their existing windows/doors via email. I am able to quote the exact price through email because I have personally installed over 10,000 windows. Next, I communicate with my customers via phone to answer any questions they may have about the estimate. Lastly, I set an appointment to show the product demo of interest and review the installation process in detail. PRICING: My pricing is extremely reasonable for the value my customers receive from my work and the products I install. My promise is that each job will be installed properly and quality materials will be used. I offer complete packages that include all paint and stain or you can channel you inner DIY Network and paint or stain yourself. Not all options require painting or staining but if they do, we can do it for you THANK YOU for reviewing my profile. I look forward to speaking with you about your window/door needs. I would love to help your project run smooth, stay on budget, and finish beautiful.
