We shopped over a half dozen stores before selecting Carpet Exchange to replace our carpet. They have a good selection of quality carpet (although Smartstrand is their center stage product, and personally we didn't want that). We selected a carpet we liked, and having shopped several stores, Carpet Exchange matched our budget and got the bid. Stephanie, the sales rep, was outstanding in her product knowledge and listened to what we wanted, instead of pushing something else on us. When she wasn't at the store, the manager, Brock, was also very pleasant to work with. We were going to replace the bathroom floor ourselves, until we found an issue with it that was beyond our skill set. We went to Carpet Exchange, and they were able to get us the laminate in two days, and have a guy on the job to install it, prior to the carpet installation. The laminate installer was very good, and did the job well and in a timely manner. The carpet installation was also done very well, albeit shorthanded. They were supposed to send a 3 man crew to install the carpet. One installer and quot;got sickand quot; (too sick to work?) and, as a result, the entire house was installed by an experienced installer and his less-experienced brother (who is not a carpet installer by trade). As a result of basically having 1 1/2 men on the job, the two-day installation took three full days. I'm disappointed that the sales office didn't do a better job in making sure we had a large enough crew to get the job done in a timely manner. However, we're still giving them an and quot;Aand quot; because the guy who did show up to do the work was awesome. The main installer was a quiet guy who focused on his work, and he took his time to do the job right. The day after he finished, he stopped by our house to return a set of door pins, and to sprinkle some powder on our driveway after his van leaked a little fluid (we didn't ask for either). When we found one small issue with the subfloor, he came back out, took up the carpet, repaired the subfloor and reinstalled the carpet. He added, and quot; Now I can re-do that one seam and make it less visible too.and quot; Overall, in spite of the stressful experience that is the nature of carpet replacement, the job was done well, and we are satisfied.
