Mountaineer Woodworks
Business Description: I have 16 years experience in the construction trades, specializing in interior trim and hand rails. I operate mostly by myself or with a helper occasionally. I use subcontractors particularly when a customer wants a large project completed but has little time to manage several trades or people to finish a project. I offer free estimates and consultations on most projects. I have price menus available upon request. Trip fees are incurred when there may be a problem that requires troubleshooting before repair. These fees are then applied as credit if the customer wishes to use my services to make the repair. I can offer a 10% discount to Angie's list members on any written estimate. I am fully insured and have current local references. Most work is fully warrantied for a period of no less than 12 months from time of completion. I also offer wholesale prices on materials when ever possible.

Improvement Pros, LLC
Recent Review: John, owner of Improvement Pros, and his team recently finished a kitchen remodel for us. Although we kept the same layout, the cabinets, counters, kitchen sink, and backsplash were all replaced. His team also added crown molding and trim on the soffit to help it blend in with the cabinets. John is very good about keeping in touch throughout the project, so we usually knew what to expect day-to-day. The project did run longer than expected, but that was because one of his employees took a job overseas and quit without advanced notice. If that wouldn’t have happened, the job would have been finished as expected. To make up for that delay, John worked on a Saturday and gave us a small discount on the overall price. He also strived to make sure that my husband and I were both satisfied with the end results. Not happy about a tile? He’ll fix it. Cabinet doors look just a little off to you? He’ll straighten them. At the end of a project, he asks for honest feedback because he wants to keep improving his business. Since this was the third time he successfully completed a project in our house, we knew we’d be pleased with the results of this project as well. He did not disappoint and we love our new kitchen!

Working with Handyman Connection was terrific.  I called and scheduled an appointment for a bid, Gary came out measured and discussed the job with me.  I had to wait for the rest of my materials to arrive, so we scheduled the job a couple weeks out.  Gary arrived on time and ready to work.  Gary was an absolute pro, in terms of expertise and precision, as well as caring for my home while he worked.  The project took a full two days and the end result was nothing less than superb.  I would recommend handyman connection and especially Gary Kephart to anyone looking for carpenter work.

BHandyman Connection of Colorado Springs
I ran out of time on a 20 x 20 foot room renovation. I had purchased, stained and painted baseboard molding and crown moulding for the room which has a vaulted ceiling from 7' to 14'. My work schedule and the delivery and installation schedule for carpet forced me to call handyman connection because no one else could fit the job in on my timeline due to the upcoming holiday. I wanted it done before the carpet install. Handyman connection responded quickly. They explained the cost structure and used a CC over the phone. The worker was prompt. The quality of the work was very good. He was professional and courteous. He needed a second worker to complete the vaulted ceiling crown molding. They did a very good job. The cost was on the high side, but my research tells me that it was not unreasonable compared to norms. I would use them again under similar circumstances when I cannot wait for my usual, busy general contractor with whom I have built a mutually trusting relationship.

AHandyman Connection of Colorado Springs
My husband and I called to get an estimate for crown molding repair (our dogs chewed ours) and some minor plumbing. Gary came to our home and gave us an estimate. He brought a coupon for us and included it in the price so we got $25 off. We thought the price was fair and competitive so we told him to go ahead with the work. Not only did Gary fix the crown molding around the door, he fixed our door (re-shimmed it) so that it fit better in the frame. The estimate was accurate and fair and the work was exceptional. As he was leaving, Gary thanked my husband for his military service. Professional service, fair price, great work.

FIrst, he missed the original appointment we made. He did call to let me know he couldn't make it. I called to reschedule. He seemed professional and friendly when he actually came - in late June - and listened and took measurements.  Told me he'd have an estimate within a week.  More than a week passed. I called to find out about the estimate. He said he was so busy he hadn't had a chance to do it, but he'd do it in the next two weeks. No estimate.  I asked again, leaving a message. He said he was so busy he'd just get to it eventually. No estimate. I called again. He called back saying he'd get to it very soon, but he was so busy he wouldn't be able to start the work until October.  Now it's mid-October and I have not heard word one. If you are too busy to take on a job, why waste everyone's time with making appointments?  Why not just politely pass?  This was incredibly frustrating.  He seemed like a good guy and competent builder, but he shouldn't make promises he can't keep. Ed is one of two vendors I called because of their high marks on Angie's list that have been utterly disappointing.  The A rating does not always tell all!

AOddjob Home Repair & Handyman Service
I am sorry for 2 week late review. Paul is an Angie's List 2018 Super Service Award Provider and he deserves it. He did a great job for us. He is a very smart man and works diligently. We thank him. His prices are very reasonable as he works quickly but in a safe and conscientious manner. Paul does not waste time. He is a great handyman and his work met all our expectations plus. The fan was replaced Mar 7, 2019. All other work Mar 12. The fan was difficult to remove as it was permanently attached to the pipe that vents to the outside of house. The fan had to be cut out and the drywall repaired after. He's great at drywall repair also.
