Every project with Greg is smooth from beginning to end. Greg is the BEST contractor/handyman I’ve ever had, super reliable, quality work, texts and cleans up! For this project Greg made and installed a second handrail for the main staircase in a residence. The new handrail was a perfect match with the existing one.

They installed ADA handrails in my shower (materials included in the price), plus two ceiling fans and two outdoor metal stair railings that I had already purchased. They also replaced the opening mechanisms on two casement windows, which they were able to make work reasonably well even though an exact match was not available. Overall, they did a great job adapting to the challenges that come with working on an older house. The ceiling fans work great, and they even switched out the one light fixture to a different room, and disposed of the previous broken ceiling fan and all the packaging for me. The outdoor railing installation turned out very nice, too - perfectly straight and sturdy. I would say they are definitely a good value for the money.

Dave promptly returned my call and even fit me in earlier when he had a cancellation. I would recommend Zeppelin Railings as the work was outstanding, price appropriate, and Dave is personable, trustworthy, and takes pride in his work.

AMaster MCG Remodeling
I hired McG to fabricate a wooden garage staircase as the existing one was too steep. He was extremely easy to work with, professional, and efficient in performing an excellent job on a tricky project. I would 100% hire him again for any future project needs. Highly recommend!

DLawver Construction Inc.
They quoted a job for indoor remodeling. My dad is 81 6ft tall. My son is severely autistic and unbalanced. We had a spiral staircase in our guest house. They were suppose to remove the rickety spiral staircase which was not safe for my dad or son. They were to build a new staircase. Instead of doing it correctly, they left the clearance 5'4"???? Code is 6'8" and they left it 5'4"??? They used redwood for an interior staircase. It splinters, has huge gouges and looks like decking???? There are nail holes left all over, unlevel stairs, outlets covered, venting not re-routed simply COVERED??? This is like a 4 year old child completed it. When we brought it to his attention, he first refused, then after 2 weeks, he came to "fix" it but instead now will not answer calls. We are employing an attorney and will bring charges as my parents and son can't even use the room safely! Lawver Construction should NOT be referred to others for interior work. I should have realized all his work was outside decks etc. This is by far the worst thing we've ever seen!! He has been paid in full and now will not correct his mistakes, the man is a criminal!

ABret Briggs Carpenter/Handyman
Bret was great to deal with. He responded quickly to my request. I wrote him a quick description of what I wanted, accompanied with some pictures, and he 'nailed' it. (Pardon the pun.) He showed up on time, brought the materials he had purchased, completed it in the time he had estimated, and it looked good. The cost was also on target. He's not just a handyman, he's a craftsman.

Deck, stairs and handrails were originally unsafe and not secure. Beams to Basements assessed what work would be necessary to improve the structures and was able to make the repairs within only a day.

AGary's Handyman Service
The whole experience was excellent -- the quote was accurate, communication was clear, frequent, and polite, he set expectations, he was on-time, he worked efficiently, and he cleaned up the work area. I now have a solid set of deck stairs that will last for years. Overall, this was the best contractor experience that I've ever had. I will definitely be contacting Gary again for future work.

Outstanding workmanship. The railings were replaced with all oak that was stained to perfection. The iron work (for the balusters) finished them off beautifully. There was a great attention to detail, as if the wood and iron were paint brushes of an artist. Extremely happy with the result!

We took carpet off our stairs and needed the carpentry, stair tread/side refinishing. After searching for MONTHS for a company, they quoted and completed our job within 2 weeks. Very hourly reasonable price plus materials. Robert the carpenter arrived early, worked 6 hours straight without even taking a lunch break, and was very responsive. Quality work and I would hire them again for future projects.

Recent Review: When Brian Tilson came to give us an initial estimate, he spent quite a bit more time than the previous contractor who gave us an estimate measuring the area. He listened carefully to us as to what we were looking for (a safe set of steps with handrails); he also suggested that the porch follow the contours of the porch roof/overhang. We received the detailed estimate over email; it specified the breakdown of labor and material costs, including his margin for getting the materials. At first we were a bit reluctant to pay extra for materials (over the estimated base cost); it turns out that his eye for selecting the right lumber was worth the extra cost. At one point, he showed me what wood he selected and why (and what pieces he cut away). Prior to starting work, Brian put together some drawings and had us meet him at the county offices to make sure we had the appropriate building permit. (I didn't know that if you attach a new porch to the house, that requires a permit.) Brian brought in a portable carpentry "shop" (a big bin) and set up in front of the house. He took care to make sure the driveway remained relatively open and got his truck out of our way when we requested it. His first step was to demolish the existing porch and dig holes for some new cement blocks. He took away the dirt and rocks, and stacked all the existing bricks on the side of the porch. Within a couple of days, he had a frame in place for the main platform. The next day the platform was complete. It took a total of 5 days, one of which was a Saturday. The stairs and than the rails completed the porch; on the last day he stained the porch. During the construction (and staining) he put up caution tape - particularly on the inside of the front door (which was great as I know on several occasions I was about to step out the door but was stopped in time by the caution tape.) The resulting platform feels extremely solid. The steps are laid out well and are easy to step on - they feel like they are just the right size. The wood joints on the porch look seamless; given the hexagonal shape of the porch, all the wood joints have no gaps between them. Brian's mitering of wood was excellent (which would explain why he used a miter saw so much.) Brian's work habits seemed fine; he did often talk to himself as if he was working out a puzzle. At first I was wondering about his self chattiness, but then I became used to it quickly. I guess it's just his style of working. He cleaned up well after himself. He even took some of the old bricks and cut them down so they filled in the spaces around the wood posts. The only problem we encountered was when one of the knots in one of the rails cracked and became loose. I pointed this out to him and asked if he could glue the knot. Instead he replace the entire board. At one point he expressed his displeasure with the "kiln dried" wood from the local lumber suppliers. We paid Brian $1500 up front and the rest upon completion of the work. My wife and I are very happy with the results and will be calling Brian at Wood-n-things if we have more carpentry needs in the future.
