Business Description: Whether you're looking for high quality gas and electric furnaces, high efficiency air conditioning, air duct and dryer vent cleaning, whole-house and portable humidifiers, or the best air purification systems of today, Sandy's HVAC and Air Duct Cleaning can deliver great results at affordable prices. I have no other employees, but occasionally use licensed assistants for larger projects. I have been in business for 6 years and I have 30 years of experience in heating and air conditioning. Northern Colorado is where I am based, but I have traveled to Boulder and Denver for jobs as well, so please consider me if you live in other areas. I take great pride in doing a quality job. I will not overcharge you or recommend any procedure that does not make sense. I took care of a customer just last winter who had a very cold room in their 4 year old house and of course it was the baby's room. After my analysis, it was determined that her furnace did not need replacing, the duct work was designed incorrectly and no heat was getting to the room. I re-did the ductwork and everything is nice and toasty now. I will give you a professional estimate and together we will find a solution to a problem or make a new installation work perfect! I am available for free estimates, just call me and we will get together soon. I can also be reached through SandysAir.com I look forward to working with you - Glen "Sandy" Sanders, Jr.

Recent Review: The installation of the humidifier when well without any major problems. The owner of business came later after the installation of the humidifier to connect the humidifier controller to our existing furnace and air conditioning controller. After completing this, the owner spent a few minutes with us to provide wonderful and important insight and information concerning the new humidifier and understanding the principles of humidification. He also gave us information on how best to operate our new heating, air conditioning and humidification system. The only complaint we have is minor, although notable. The persons providing the physical installation of the humidifier did not take any precaution to prevent soiling of our floor and carpet by applying protective covers on their footwear.

Recent Review: The installation of a new Lennox EL296 furnace, plus humidifier, went pretty smoothly, taking about 7 hours. The bid was for a wired thermostat, necessitating the running of a second control wire so we could run the fan independently of the furnace. There were problems with getting the wire down through the wall however; so they offered me a wireless thermostat at cost. The installer was friendly and professional and cleaned up well after the installation. The city inspector found two items that needed to be addressed, both of which were the result of the old Pulse furnace installation 20+ years ago (building codes have changed since then). Rand H used the old Pulse intake and exhaust pipes, which were only one foot above grade where they left the house; current standards say they must be 22 inches above grade. Also, there was a capped 'Y' in the adjacent "orphaned" water heater ventilation pipe. The 'Y' needed to be removed altogether. Rand H came out very promptly and addressed both issues at no additional cost.

Reviews in Livermore for Installing Central Humidifier

APoudre Valley Air
In need of a whole house humidifier, I contacted Poudre Valley Air (PVA).  After describing my request, I was presented with the offer to receive an estimate over the phone or arrange a visit to meet with a representative to prepare the estimate.  I chose the latter, and Rock came over for a visit.  Rock informed me he started off as a technician about a decade ago and has worked his way up to sales - his experience was apparent.  He arrived on time, slipped booties over his shoes, and took a look at my furnace and ductwork.  He was very knowledgeable and answered my numerous questions about what options I had, what would be fit my desires, and what would work best for me.  Additionally he identified a solution to a problem with my filter rack, and let me know they could fix that on a time and materials basis not to exceed $100.  He provided me with an estimate on his way out ($495 for a Honeywell bypass filter and installation).  I checked his estimate for the humidifier against Northern Colorado Air (comparable) and Fort Collins Heating and Air Conditioning (far more expensive), and ultimately I felt like I would get the best value from PVA. When I called to schedule the work, it was only a couple days before Larry showed up for the install.  He was right on time, friendly to my two young daughters, and professional.  The installation and filter rack fix took about 4 hours, right at Rock's estimate.  Larry showed me how the humidifier operates and - like Rock - answered all my questions.  I am very pleased with Larry's work.  Larry left an invoice, which included the full $100 for the time and materials work.  I called PVA to question this, and they apologized for the error and said it should only have been $80.  So all work was completed right in line with the estimate initially provided. After a few days, I noticed a puddle of water on the floor of the utility room and assumed my hot water heater was leaking.  After some inspection, I realized the humidifier was draining water and my floor drain was clogged.  I repaired the floor drain myself, but assumed the humidifier was malfunctioning.  I called PVA first thing the next morning and they arranged for Tony to stop in to take a look later that morning (under warranty, no charge to me).  Like Larry, Tony showed up on time, slipped booties over his shoes, and started assessing the problem.  Fortunately, the humidifier was not malfunctioning; Tony simply made adjustments to the flow rate into the humidifier and explained more about how it works.  As he was wrapping up, my daughters came down and Tony was very friendly to them - another classy employee. I write this review now believing I have indeed received a great value from PVA.  The humidity in the house is climbing, we aren't getting shocked when we tough light switches, and I understand much better how my heating system operates.  Overall, I highly recommend PVA.  I credit Rock with selling me what I needed and not simply what generates the greatest commission for him/revenue for PVA.  I appreciate the professionalism of Larry and Tony, and the pride they took in their work.  I also appreciate the knowledge of Nicole and Jessica, the sales and repair representatives, to schedule the work and arrange for the follow-up visit.  I don't know what more you could ask for.

Technicians had some problems installing humidifier, but eventually completed the installation. One technician that  came out was a smart a** know it all.  Tried to bill us and when we refused he had invoice mailed to us.  After calling the compay, we were told to ignore billling, as work was under warranty.  Would not want to deal with this guy again. The other techs that came out to install and fix problem, were extremely professional, punctual and very cordial and helpful.

FOne Hour Heating & Air Conditioning
My experience with One Hour has been severely disappointing. When I first had my new, and very expensive, furnace and air conditioner installed, the crew was out my house for over 12 hours installing my new system when I was told it would take no more than 8 hours. They had to cut a hole in my wall to run the wiring of the new thermostat, which I approved them doing. However, after having to call multiple times to schedule for someone to come and fix it, the person who came back out put a grate over the hole instead of patching it. Furnace was installed on 11/11/15. A few days later I had my vents cleaned, and my roommate's Beats headphones turned up missing. After multiple conversations we finally decided on splitting the cost of replacing the headphones, which I am still moderately unsure how I feel about that situation. Right after the install, I went to turn on my furnace and my humidifier created a waterfall in my laundry room because the filter was not fully installed. I turned off the furnace and called and had service come out to fix the issue. In March 2016, I had a guy come out to do the A/C start up and furnace inspection covered by my Direct Energy plan. The next day, my house temperature dropped to the low 40s and I discovered that my furnace wasn't turning on. I called and they came back out and during the tune up the technician turned off something inside the furnace so it was not functional. A few weeks ago, I had my scheduled furnace tune up. Mostly as a joke, I told the technician to make sure he did a thorough job because everytime they come out I have to have them come back. Technician did a good job and covered his basis. However, shortly after, I noticed that my thermostat wasn't turning on. I called back and sat on hold for 5-10 minutes. Person who answered the call was very friendly, and tried to call the dispatch to have someone come back out, but they were not able to get a hold of dispatch. She told me they would call me back ASAP to get someone out to me. After waiting 1 hour without hearing back, I called back and got ahold of the same person. She called dispatch again and the person she talked to supposedly was just about to call me back and redirect someone out. I explained to her again about how I'm tired of having to call you guys back out. Brought all of this up to their Ops Manager and let him know this is why I would never use them again and why I wouldn't recommend them. No action was done to fix the situation nor did they ever apologize for all the issues. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE NOT WORTH WHAT THEY CHARGE YOU.

We called PVA's number and got a technician out within 3 hours (other services we've used in the past can't even return calls in that short a time, especially on a Sunday). John, the technician, replaced the small but expensive ignitor and did a general furnace check. He recommended we get a new humidifier filter from the nearest home center, get the ducts cleaned, and sign up for annual maintenance, but it wasn't a hard sell. He was done within 45 minutes. John was cheerful, professional, and efficient. We did schedule the duct cleaning with them, and were happy with the work.
