Recent Review: There were two inspectors and I followed along with the lead person who was very thorough.  I also tagged along with a third person doing each sewer scoping.  All reports were very thorough, except upon reading the reports, I noticed that the 2nd inspector did not thoroughly examine the crawl space under two buildings.  I had concerns as some inspection issues were found under the other 3 buildings and notified Scott Inspections about my concern.  The owner quickly came up with a solutions and when the radon tests were picked up the crawl spaces of the other 2 buildings were thoroughly inspected by the lead person.   Overall, very professional in scheduling, promptness, and thoroughness with the minor hiccup outlined above.

Reviews in Livermore to Inspect Crawl Space

AINSIGHT INSPECTION
Darwin Wissink thoroughly inspected our 1947 cabin, photographing points of concern in the crawl space, attic, exterior and interior. He was very knowledgeable about methods of construction and electrical wiring. He even recommended a new vinyl tile/sheet product that has a vintage appearance for refurbishing our worn kitchen and bathroom floors. He prepared a report on his laptop, printing and binding it for us before he left. He also emailed a PDF copy of the report. We are extremely happy with his work. We feel we know what to fix and in what order of concern.

AL & J INSPECTIONS
Larry Owens (the owner/inspector) was Amazing. I called him on a Thursday to see how soon he could get in, and he got us in on Saturday. Since we wanted a Radon test, he had to get access to the house That Night, and worked with our real estate agent to do so. He was on time that Saturday morning and did such a thurough job inspecting our home. My husband followed him around as he did it, and Larry explained everything about the house we were about to buy. We feel very confident that Larry missed nothing, as he crawled around in crawl spaces, the attic, on the roof, in that basement: everywhere. We WILL be using him in the future.

I had reviewed this company recently based on a fantastic experience.  A second call was less then desirable. I like the online scheduling, but I requested a specific inspector, based on a positive experience, and another inspector showed up for this particular inspection.  I think this inspector was new to the trade, as the report that I received was less then expected.  The inspector did not climb onto the roof because "it was too tall".  I called a roofer and was told that this roof - in fact - was accessible with a normal ladder.  My inspector must have failed to bring the correct ladder.  The roof seems to be an important part of the inspection. The sewer scope inspector refused to climb into a crawl space with his equipment.  He demanded that the home owner - who was not present at the inspection - cut the caulking around a toilet, so the sewer scope could occur through the toilet.  The home owner became less then cooperative and refused to cut the caulk.  I hired a different sewer scope company who easily climbed into the crawl space and performed the scope without cutting the toilet caulk.  The process became such a headache, I will never call this company again. I think that the company has become so large, they hire whoever and it's a coin toss whether or not you will get good service.  I thought I had found my inspector, but I have not.

CColorado Professional Inspections
Bruce inspected a home for me and performed a radon test in Fort Collins. He was professional and (I thought) thorough (he even got down into the creepy crawl space and found some leaks) so I hired him a second time when the sale of the first home did not go through.  His inspection report seemed extensive enough until I purchased the home and within the first two weeks found out there was a hole in my furnace and it had to be replaced (something he defiantly should have seen as a hole that size would not have just appeared out of nowhere in such a short amount of time) AND my hot water heater was completely shot (shooting sparks and all) and had to be replaced as well.  In addition the upstairs toilet is so crooked I will have to rip up the floor to get it level. I don't understand how on earth he could have missed all that! Very disappointing, I will not be recommending him. Update 1/5: Found out today he missed the lack of a quick disconnect on my water heater. Another thing I get to fix that I should have found out about during the inspection.

Paul is a true professional. We are looking to buy a home and currently live in another state. Paul did the inspection for us and included videos explaining and showing the defective items found. If it wasn't for Paul I would have bought a home that was in pretty scary shape. On top of it all Paul was out there just 2 business days after requesting the service. We will certainly use him again.

After gathering more information, we changed our minds about getting a pre inspection of my parents home. Ann Scott was very courteous and understanding even though they were unable to schedule another client in that time slot. Becky
