Shamrock Insulation
Recent Review: Got an estimate from Kenny to upgrade my attic insulation from R15 to R49 (blown-in cellulose).  I was very impressed by his knowledge and attention to detail.  One week later the work was done by Kenny and his assistant (Jeff).  He extended my soffit vents and air sealed any attic penetrations.  Added separate batt insulation around my whole-house attic fan.   They spread tarps on all areas leading to the attic entrance and cleaned up upon finishing. Kenny also provided the necessary paper work to request a $200 rebate from Colorado Springs Utilities. Superb job!!   Kenny, Lisa, and Jeff are a great team and it was a joy to work with them.  Highly recommended!!

Sun Country Energy Solutions
Recent Review: My house was built in 1969. It needed updated attic insulation and some. Soundproofing insulation in between a specific wall. Jeff came out promptly, analyzed the situation and made an assessment that resulted in him being able to add insulation into the wall without having to take down the drywall. They simply got into the attic and blew in insulation. It was clean, fast, and efficient. Plus the cost was well below what I had anticipated I would have to spend thinking I'd need to have the entire wall redone in terms of installing insulation then replacing the Sheetrock. I am very pleased with the results and Jeff's professionalism. I am looking forward to seeing the money savings in our energy bill.

AShamrock Insulation
Shamrock Insulation is a family owned business with Kenny and his wife, Lisa.  Kenny and his helper, I believe he is Lisa's cousin, installed the insulation.  They were very careful not to track mud, insulation, etc., on the carpet and wood floors.  Kenny and Lisa are very personable and helpful.  Kenny told me about the Income Tax rebates as well as Colorado Springs Utilities rebates.  I didn't know about either of these rebates.  My house was built in the 40's, and has NO insulation.  Adding the insulation to the attic floor and the crawl space ceiling has made a tremendous difference in the comfort of my house.  I would definitely tell my friends, neighbors, and anyone else who will listen, to call Shamrock Insulation!

We went to Angie's List when we decided it was time to do something about our home's insulation. Our family room is over a crawlspace and it is noticeably colder than the rest of the house in the winter. Since this is where we spend most of our time in the evenings, I had approached our local and quot;Big Boxand quot; customer service desk for suggestions and was told that installing insulation batting between the floor joists would significantly improve our comfort level. I perused the and quot;insulation installationand quot; reviews on Angie's List and decided to contact two local companies for estimates. In both cases, I simply showed them our family room and the crawl space, then told them about the Big Box recommendation. Both told me substantially the same thing...it would be a BIG mistake to seal off the crawlspace from the rest of our home's insulation envelope. However, that is where the estimates and proposals diverged. Jeff Foxworthy from Sun Country gave me a very precise, detailed description of their proposed approach and the rationale for every action. He explained WHAT they would do (completely seal, then insulate the walls and floor of the crawlspace) and WHY that approach would be superior to the Big Box DIY approach (protecting our crawlspace water pipes from freezing and maintaining/improving the efficiency of the heating ducts feeding our family room).Jeff impressed me enough that I asked him to look at our attic as well. He surveyed the area from end to end, identifying several areas where the insulation was not up to par. I learned that our insulation has settled and shifted to the point of no longer being up to current building standards, much less current Dept of Energy recommendations.Jeff gave us an estimate for the crawlspace insulation project and separate estimates for the attic (current building standard vs DOE recommendation). In addition, he pointed out the Colorado Springs Utilities rebates that would be available based on the work we chose. Overall, we were extremely impressed with how thorough and knowledgeable Jeff is and we decided to go with his proposals for both areas. The Sun Country crew showed up exactly as scheduled two days later. They were very respectful of our home, wearing clean protective booties over their shoes whenever they were in the house (and removing them on exits to ensure they stayed clean). They sealed all the penetrations for the electrical and plumbing work as well as the heat stack, then blew in enough insulation to bring us up to the DOE standard for our area. Then they checked and sealed all the penetrations to our crawlspace, installed insulation on the walls and sealed it to the neoprene floor to complete the insulation envelope. Afterwards, Jeff provided completed rebate application forms so all we had to do was sign them, include a copy of my drivers license and the invoice, and mail them to Colorado Springs Utilities.Overall, our experience with Sun Country Energy Solutions was exceptional. We recommend them highly for all your insulation needs. We fully expect to see a large return on our relatively small investment this winter, both in terms of our utilities bill and more importantly, our comfort. Thank you, Jeff, for a job well done.

I hired Sun Country to install insullation in my roof as my furnance was running just about all the time. Having insulation installed is a two step process. First Dave came out inspected my attic, took a bunch of pictures and explained to me the process. My house was built in the 70's so there wasn't much insulation up there. Dave did some calculatons and estimated that the house had the equivalent of R-19 insulation. He recommended bringing it up to R-49. He also told me about the wonderful rebates that Black Hills Energy has that would cut my overall cost by about 45%. We set up an install for the following week. On the day of the install, the installers showed up exactly on time. I'm ashamed to admit that I forgot their names. The first thing they did is explain what they would be doing and asked if I had any questions. Next they layed down some tarps to protect my carpet and started work in the attic. First they sealed any bypasses, like around the junction boxes for my ceiling lights. After that was done they started blowing in the insulation. They had a nifty tool that sealed the attic access to minimize the amount of insulaton that would escape into the house. Several hours later the completed the insulation instalation and removed all their equipment. They even cleaned the carpets to get the small amount of insulation that escaped. Finally, they helped me complete the energy rebate forms and wished me a good day. The entire process took about 4 hours.

We are part of the Waldo burn area in Mountain Shadows.  Our insurance company recommend Belfor and sent them out to give us an estimate for the smoke damage from the fire.  Their rep came exactly when he was scheduled to and was very thorough and professional during the walk through process.  That is where it ended.  The company called to schedule services before I received a bid so I didn't know what they were going to do or how long it would take.  The person who called didn't know either because they weren't given any info on our job.  When we finally got a bid it was incomplete.  Several major things that needed to be done were left off and they charged for cleaning blinds in several rooms where there weren't any.  I emailed the rep several questions and called him.  He didn't return my call for 3 days at which point I called him.  He apologized said he was busy and would send me a revised estimate.  I received 2 more calls to schedule service from the company and still no one could tell me how long it would take or what they would be doing.  When I received the revised estimate, several days later, it was still incomplete and had wrong things listed.  Needless to say I went with another company.  I left them a message to say I was going with another company since no one answered the phones.  I am still receiving calls from them wanting to schedule service.   Their bids on some of their services were quite a bit lower than others I have received and others were higher, so in general I would say their bids were reasonable when averaged out.
