The WireNut
Recent Review: We suffered a lighting strike and lost most of the power in our house. This was on a Sunday afternoon - there was a burning smell in the house and we were in something of a panic. Called Wirenut as we had used them before and always been impressed and they sent an electrician out within an hour or so. He checked everything, including inspecting up on the roof, and restored power to the house by resetting various breakers and replacing a couple of GFIs. The next day he came with another electrician and they replaced all our smoke alarms, GFIs and Water irrigation panel as well as examining our non-functioning furnaces and air conditioner. The Wirenut folks are very professional - they always but shoe covers on before entering the house, and they are very polite and pleasant to deal with.

Recent Review: Excellent work at a fair price.  We had our inspection for the electrical work that Dimitry from Front Range Electric did for us. He worked for 8 hours . He was very polite and answered any questions I asked. The charge for all the work was 1520.00. Wirenut had give us an estimate of 5800.00 for the same work.

All Star Electric
Recent Review: Peter Larson did a fantastic job!  He explained why the GFCIs were constantly going off when I used something with a motor and replaced all of them with a new up-to-code model that handles motorized things better.  He moved the 220 outlet behind my stove so that the stove could be pushed back and even with the countertop -- before it had to sit out in the room several inches because the plug was hitting the back brace on the stove above the warming drawer.  And the whole house surge protector is great -- I live on a hill and get many, many close lightning strikes that just reak havoc on my appliances and clocks. I would definitely do business with All Star Electric again!!!  Great service, price and professionalism.

Recent Review: This was my first remodel and I was looking for someone to provide me guidance keeping in mind my budget. Chuck provided that and so much more. He took my vision and help guide me into making very good decisions on design and use of my budget. The additional independent contractors that he brought in for electrical and plumbing were also top notch. Chuck has an artistic eye that added beautiful touches and the final result was more than I had hoped for. He built me a small dining nook that I was not able to find that fit the small dining room and gave me added storage. We worked with Prosource for the kitchen design and the cabinets were beautiful, doubled my storage space and were well worth the investment. Chuck designed and made my maple butcher block counter top and my friends cant believe the beautiful job. He opened a pathway between the dining and living room which gives more flow and makes the area seem larger. I asked him to redesign a wall using laminate wood flooring and again he exceeded my expectations. His experience with painting and updating baseboards, lightning and doors also exceeded my expectations. I have a beautiful new home. My next project will include Chuck Dayhoff as my contractor. I also have reliable contacts for electrical and plumbing services as needed because of this remodel.

Peter and his crew did a great job. Peter explained in detail everything that would be done and the cost. He went over all my drawings and made recommendations and why for MY decision and any additional cost if any. They showed up promptly and Peter arranged the work permit and rough inspection. I am very pleased with how the entire electrical work was performed and how it looks and works.

The guys got here at 7:50 am, (appoint. time was 8). Had a few hmmm's and wow's and then they went back to get more supplies.(as I expected). They started work about 9 am, power was off at 9:15. They worked fast and efficiently and took about 15 for lunch. I asked a lot of questions and they answered all of them. They had drop cloths down in the kitchen where they had to cut a bigger hole for the new panel. Replaced electric pole on the roof. Put in new flashing, caulking where needed. Moved the meter and pipe to accommodate wires. Basically brought the house up to code for electrical. Power was back on by 3:15 pm. They were cleaned up and gone by 4 ish. They did a great job. I will hire them again for any electrical project I have. Very nice and personable and professional.

Work was performed on time and for a reasonable price.  Upon discussion with Peter I found out it was a family business and I love to support local family businesses. I would absolutely call All Star Electric next time I need any kind of electrical work.

Overall the job went very well and completed in one day according to schedule.  Peter did estimate after I bought the $849 panel replacement deal on Angie's list.  Included surge protectors, which was important given all my TVs and other electrical equipment plus frequency of lightning strikes in CO. Just one more safeguard.  Peter, with FRE, was out within couple of days after contacting through Angie's list based upon my availability.  He looked over the job thoroughly; noting electrical panel would have to be relocated to outside of house and cost would be an additional $450, which was a bit of a surprise, but seemed reasonable given other estimates I had received. The original panel was much smaller and located close to granite counter top, so no other option--plus went with upgraded 150 amps panel.  I needed to replace the home's original panel (1976) Federal Pacific, since had load issues, especially in family room and garage which are on single circuit.  Old panel was very much under-powered, no longer manufactured, plus I had heard horror stories from others about their panels shorting out. Online research further affirmed the risks of an outdated panel given today's electrical demands. the date for work to be completed was set, crew showed up early, they had coordinated all the work with Utilities, permits, inspector and got down to business, completing the job so power was back on by 4 pm that afternoon.  They had to replace electrical pipe and reroute all wires from inside to outside (which in my eyes looked like having to re-braid the hair of Medusa).  When power came on, everything worked perfectly.  Lights were brighter, and came on quicker to full brightness (thank you US Government for banning incandescent bulbs.....NOT). Have had no outages or flipped breakers, even after putting a heavy load on family room circuits, including portable AC.  Very satisfied with work and results. Even the inspector showed up a couple of days sooner than I had expected. I had wanted some additional electrical work estimate at time of panel quote, but interest of contractor in running additional circuits or rewiring, including wiring 4 bedroom ceiling fans/light seemed low.  I will get smaller projects done with another Angie's list deal.  That said, FRE did accomplish what I contracted for and on budget. No surprises!
