Recent Review: This was the fourth time we have used Michael for handyman/plumbing services. This time Michael was to install a new sink fixture for me along with the shower/tub trim , but I had mistakenly failed to order the correct valve stem kit to go with the new trim.  Michael was so patient with my error and did not charge me for the lost time for that part of the job.  He also did a couple of other small tasks for my husband related to our bathroom project without charging additional.  Michael is nice to work with, courteous and reliable.  I highly recommend him.

Recent Review: Rich Reed and his crew were amazing! They completed all of the projects mentioned above in 7 days! This was impressive to me since the company I had just hired to replace my windows took 2 months to do that job. Also, Rich always answers your phone calls or returns them within a few hours if you leave a message. He had the best price and best customer service out of all the other companies that I received a bid from to do all of this work. He checked with me often to make sure that the work was being done to my satisfaction. Now my 1970's house looks like new and I couldn't be happier! I would highly recommend Rich for any siding/window project. In fact, my neighbors were so impressed with my siding and the price that Rich offered them that they hired him as well.

DREAMMAKER BATH & KITCHEN
Recent Review: We moved back into our house after living away from it for 8 years...and the kitchen was as ugly as when we first bought the house. After installing new carpet, the kitchen became our #1 home improvement project. My husband first met Markand Deb w/DreamMakers at a home improvement show. The first thing we liked about DreamMakers was they coordinate the whole project...from design to purchase to contractors to subcontracts. Being new to Colorado Springs again we didn't want to have to 'cross our fingers' in hiring contractors, etc. Second choice in going with DreamMakers was design. Designing a new layout for the ktichen was something we could not figure out. The size, entry doors, traffic flow in-and-out of the kitchen were restrictive. As a military family, we've lived in 12 different homes and knew what we did and did not want in our kitchen, and it was a great relief to sit down with Mark and give him our list and see our new kitchen appear. Our lead contractor, Lane, was great. Always kept my wife informed on what was going on, who was coming into the house, etc. He also took the extra steps to help her allergies/asthma stay under control by sealing off the upstairs from construction and warning her when fumes or dust could affect her. The electricans, plumber, painter, and flooring installers all had professional connections with DreamMakers so our lead contractor knew what kind of work they should do and did do. We never felt uncomfortable or unsafe letting any of these contractors in our home. They were all polite, consider, professional, and even entertaining! We just took our 'AFTER' photos and compared them to our 'BEFORE' photos - the difference is amazing. Our new kitchen is fabulous. We look forward to using DreamMaker and their contractors again for our Master Bath remodel and 3rd Bathroom Install!!

TREVINO CUSTOM DRYWALL & PAINTING, INC.
Recent Review: I hired Joe to finish sheetrock smoothing and texturing.  He did a fantastic job with that, and was so fast, I had several other guys having to hurry up to move their tools and finish hanging drywall in a few small spaces, like closets, to avoid slowing joe down.  I needed some tile work done as well, and he mentioned that he was good at that as well.  I was skeptical, as most tile guys I meet grossly overstate either their ability or their willingness to do good quality work.  But I went ahead and had him do the tile, and he really IS good as it -- very conscientious.  I've even had him painting and installing trim when we needed another hand, and he knows what he is doing there as well -- Joe even taught me and my crew a new method for spraying paint onto doors that can be done in a much smaller work area, allows you to paint many more doors in a day than you could using my old method (that I was pretty proud of until I saw Joe's), and his method provides excellent results -- better than mine, I must admit.  He is a good painter as well.  If you've hired very many painters, then you know what a find this is -- usually is is hard to find one who will turn up to work on time and not in a mentally altered state, much less show up every day, on time, with a good attitude, ready to get the job done.  He is number one on my list of painters too.

Being a single gal that just moved to the area, I was looking for someone I could trust to do several small projects in my new home.  After reading the glowing reviews for Michael's Handyman Services, I was sure I had found just the person, and I did!  My experience with Michael was great from start to finish.  He came over to go over what I needed done and was willing to split the job up into manageable chunks that I could afford.  There were some other small carpentry projects I had that Michael told me right away were not in his expertise and he recommended someone to me that could do those jobs for me.   What Michael did for me was install a light fixture (that I purchased) over my sink and re-wired the GFI, being very conscientious about safety and keeping to code.  He was able to repair (instead of replace) my leaking outside faucet, saving me money.  The best part was he saved me over $100 dollars by insisting that I return the shower trim kit that a local plumbing supplier sold me (very expensive "special order" and piece by piece).  Michael guaranteed me that all I needed was a standard trim kit, no special order needed and it was 1/3 the cost!    He was almost as mad as I was that the plumbing supplier had taken advantage of me!   Sure enough, the standard trim kit worked beautifully, and Michael even found a way to attach the showerhead which was too close to the ceiling to accept a normal fitting. You can tell he takes pride in his workmanship - I'd almost say he is a perfectionist. Especially the clean-up - not a trace of sawdust or dirt anywhere.  Bottom line and most importantly: Michael is a good guy and he is honest.  Yes, he is in the business to make money, but not to rip anybody off.  I would recommend him to anyone and plan on hiring him again for future projects.

FOops Handyman Service
The bathtub did come out ok but the caulking job he did was horrible and has to be redone. The oak cabinets are another story well to start off Tom sent Will to sand down the cabinets and he didn't really know what he was doing and after the stain was applied Tom came in and had to resand where Will messed up. The cabinets had many color variations and I had to tell them repeatively that the cabinets still aren't matching. They told me this is because of the different variations of wood but I personally think its because the sanding wasn't all uniform before they applied the stain. They didn't wipe down the cabinets or use a vacuum to get the sawdust off so when you applied the poly it's rough in texture and doesn't have a gloss even though the poly can says it's a clear gloss so I have to have to hire someone else to do the refinishing. On the cabinets they did about 50% of the work and the other 50% is refinishing.  Toward the end all they wanted was to get paid and was supposed to install trim but that didn't happen because Will came in with some white door stop that he wanted to put as trim for my oak cabinets. I had to go find trim and Will just wanted to get paid even though the job wasn't done. Will became very unprofessional at the end with quite a demeaning, aggressive, threatening behavior that is quite frightening. They left quite a mess with all the sawdust and I wouldn't recommend them. Since then I have recieved a second opinion from another professional who specializes in cabinets and he has agreed it wasn't done right especially the refinishing.  I have attempted to try and come to a mutual agreement regarding the remaining amount owed since the job wasn't done to my satisfaction and has to be redone instead Will contacted me again with such aggressive unprofessional behavior so I'm filing a small claims suit and have reported him to the BBB.
