Reviews in Brighton for Range Hood Installation
APACE & SONS MECHANICAL
I hired Pace and Sons based on the recommendation of a neighborhood friend. We were remodelling our kitchen and needed someone to install a new gas line for our gas cooktop and also to install a vent for the new cooktop. Corey came to my home to survey the work to be done and quoted a very fair price for the work to be performed. Corey arrived at the date and time agreed upon. Since the kitchen had just been demo'd in preparation of our remodelling, he worked off of our designer's plans to mount the vent at precisely the location it needed to go for the subsequent appliance install. He also knew exactly how to install the new gas line and he carefully included shutoff valves in both the kitchen as well as the basement to ensure safety.Corey is a genuinely nice guy who cares about his business and pleasing his customers. Since he did such a nice job, we asked him to return to provide cleaning and maintenance on our home air conditioner that hadn't been serviced in well over 5 years. He discovered the system was in good shape and cleaned everything thoroughly. His cost was again reasonable and we will certainly use him again whenever we have need for HVAC services.

AROCKY MOUNTAIN HEAT
All jobs went well despite difficult working conditions in the attic and crawlspace of our older (1952 house) as well as dealing with older wiring and thick loose-type attic insulation. One of the bathroom fan installs and one of the furnace servicing required long crawls in the crawlspace and attic from the access points. Due to the required roof work for through the roof venting and bad weather, Lou had to reschedule a few times, but work was completed as soon as the roof was free of snow. The new/better bathroom fans and re-worked venting completely solved the bathroom humidity problems we had with the old fans and poorly done venting arrangements. It turned out the circuit we planned to use for the range hood was miswired when we had major electrical work done a couple years ago. Lou gave us a referral for an electrician who came out and identified and corrected the bad house wiring the next business day after the range hood installation was complete at a very reasonable price.

ABret Briggs Carpenter/Handyman
Bret arrived at 8 A.M. Sharpe as planned and went to work after we discussed what needed to be done. Bret is very experience, works fast, has the tools needed to do the job and very professional. I have some other projects I like to have done in the future and I will diffidently call Bret to do then. Very nice young man.

A J & G Tile
Jimmy is one of, or THE best contractor we've ever worked with, and we've done a lot of work on our home. He helps with design decisions, does BEAUTIFUL work (people 'in the know' say that when they see his work), he's always happy (after dealing with grumpy contractors, you know this is a big benefit!), he's affordable, he communicates excellently, and he even does little extras for no charge. If you haven't guessed, that means he is the kind of person you can relax with, and trust! I wish we could get more contractors like Jimmy!

BMr Handyman of North Metro Denver
The first person needed help with the dry wall, so two handymen became involved. They were polite, tried to contain mess, and cleaned up. I asked them to do some additional minor drywall touch up in kitchen. The final painting was not done and I was told to do it myself. The project took longer than expected and cost much more than anticipated. I would suggest finding someone to give you a bid, rather than paying by the hour. I would probably not use them again, just because they are very expensive.

Lyle scheduled an appointment with me for 8 o'clock. He was prompt. He covered my range top with a thick blanket for protection. The installation was accomplished with no problems. He even set the time on the front panel clock when he was done. He charged $20 for the electrical box install and $80 for the microhood install.

AVent Masters Inc
Attic fan installed (QuietCool) and attic vented per their calculations. Our attic had no existing venting to speak of so we needed a lot of soffit & roof vents, the guys also did a great job adding a hood vent for our microwave hood/range and rigging up a much needed booster fan for the dryer vent. They suggested re-routing the dryer vent for proper placement of the booster fan and now the dryer works exponentially better! The only problem I had was a communication issue between their estimator (the guy who planned the job) & the guys who did the work. I had made it VERY clear to the estimator that the south facing roof was not to be used for any vents as I needed all the space open for a planned solar installation. He said they could do everything on the north side. However, on install day, when I went up on the roof to check their progress I was very angry to find two 18" holes cut into my south roof & large vent caps installed. I brought it to the attention of the installers (Mike & Deryl), who stayed very calm and professional and said there was no notes or verbal information passed along from the estimator (they even showed me the work order). They apologized for the miscommunication and Deryl (who has previously owned his own roofing company- very knowledgeable) assured me that he could remove the vents and repair the roof so I'd never know they were there and that absent the instructions, the south roof was better for ventilation performance due to prevailing winds. So, he was very mindful of doing a good job, just word didn't get passed along from the estimator regarding my specific instructions. They returned two days later with roofing material to match ours and removed, reinstalled, and repaired the roof on the south face. Deryl was right, he did repir it so I couldn't tell they were there, and cross braced the cuts so structural integrity is there. They took care of the problem. Overall, I highly recommend the team at Vent Masters. They were affordable, honest, and did a great job! Also they were very respectful of our house and cleaned up well after each area they worked on.

AWade The Handyman
Wade did an excellent job in all aspects. I had to wait a couple of months until he could begin my job, but it was worth the wait. He is professional, cares about the quality of the job he's doing, shows up on time (and texted me the one time he was caught in traffic so I would know he would be late), and has a very pleasant personality. His price was very reasonable and I actually paid him more than he quoted me because of the extra time it actually took him to complete the job. I appreciated that he spent the necessary time to do an excellent job rather than "cutting corners" to finish quickly and minimize his time and expense. My hood works perfectly with no vibration or excessive noise. I would not hesitate to hire him again for any future project.

BLEE'S CUSTOM METAL WORKS
Lee is very receptive to and willing to work with the client to acheive the desired appearance. His work is excellent because he is very knowledgeable of sheet metals and various metals. His only fault, as with many craftsman, is his lack of a sense of time and schedule. He will promise something that he believes is reasonable but will be delayed by outside forces that he never takes into account. Once the time is pinned down, he does deliver a quality product.
Recent Review: Last fall Cooper replaced my old furnace and AC with new, high efficiency equipment. On the whole, the experience has been very positive, from the very informative and professional initial sales call through installation to a recent accounting follow-up. On the plus side, there were no hidden costs, the installation crew really knew their business, and they worked late to get the job done in a single day as promised. My furnace is in a utility room in a finished basement, and a tight fit in a little alcove with the water heater. They removed the old one, hauled it away and installed the new one without leaving any kind of mess. I'm very happy with the new equipment and the installation job they did. The one counterpoint was that their price was on the high side of the range of quotes that I got, but that was well offset by the rebate that Costco offered for booking the work as a member. I would definitely advise anyone getting HVAC work done to get a quote from Cooper.
Recent Review: Royal's Heating and Air really stood out from their competition. My A/C had gone out and my (Goodman) furnace was also having large repairs, so I did a thorough search for a good firm to replace them. I looked at Yelp, Angie's List and Consumer Reports to get my information. I got a wide range of prices, equipment recommendations, and responsiveness, but it finally came down to Royal's and another top-rated firm from Angie's List. When the bids came in Royal's was significantly less even though Royal's does not participate in the XCEL rebate program. Plus, Joe had given me the assurance that he would do the installation himself, so the decision was easy. What I like about Royal's was 1) They proposed equipment (Trane) that had gotten good reviews at Consumer Reports. The same was true for the other firm from Angie's List. However, the top-rated firm from Yelp was proposing Goodman, which is a definite bad choice based on my past experience with my old furnace. I would be careful with Yelp ratings in Denver area for heating and A/C because it really looks to me that it's ratings may have been badly biased somehow. 2) Joe Royal took the time to explain everything to me, and his answers made good sense. The other top firm on Angie's List also did very well on this. 3) Joe and his assistant were on time, polite, and fastidious in cleaning up. 4) Joe and his assistant paid attention to all the little details that service companies often overlook. I examined their work pretty carefully and could find nothing sloppy about it. I would definitely recommend these guys if you ever need heating or A/C work done!
Recent Review: I purchased the Angie's List deal for a $49 swamp cooler tune up. I was told the owner, Dwayne, would be the person who would perform the service. I was given a time range of 8-12, and Dwayne showed up around 8:45am. I recently moved into this house, and knew nothing about swamp coolers. I asked Dwayne if he could walk me through what he was doing and provide tips throughout the service which he was more than happy to do. The service was completed within a half hour and my swamp cooler is running great. He also inspected my water heater and told me a few things to keep my eye on and did not put a high pressure sell behind them.

Recent Review: Jason was very responsive to my initial request looking for a handyman. He was very patient and flexible when I had to reschedule our appointment a couple of times. Scott was on time when he showed up to do the repairs and was extremely professional. Jason followed up with a phone call to make sure everything was completed to my satisfaction. I would recommend High Level Home Renovations and definitely use them again.
